After frequently strolling by this eatery, I finally opted to try it today with a takeaway order. Sadly, it didn't live up to expectations.I went for the lamb biryani, hoping for its typical aromatic and flavorful profile. Unfortunately, it fell short, as the lamb was chewy, and to my bewilderment, it was garnished with raw cucumber and carrot—an unusual sight for a traditional biryani.Additionally, I ordered the mixed balti, featuring chicken, prawn, and lamb, which was recommended as a crowd favorite. Unfortunately, it lacked the authentic Indian taste I was anticipating. The dish was rather bland, missing the complexity and distinctive flavors typical of Indian fare.Additionally, the food came in standard plastic containers that leaked during transit, which didn't make for a pleasant takeaway presentation.Upon calling to provide feedback, the restaurant explained that this was their style of cooking. They were courteous but showed little interest in addressing my concerns.For truly delightful and authentic Indian cuisine, I enthusiastically suggest Masalchi by Atul Kocchar near Wembley Station; their dishes are packed with genuine taste.

Absolutely wonderful. Everything was so delicious and the service is great, really friendly and helpful.

Amazing place

I have walked past this restaurant many times and finally decided to give it a try today with a takeaway order. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.

I ordered the lamb biryani, but it lacked the signature aroma, flavour, and richness you expect from a proper biryani. The lamb was tough, and to my surprise, it came topped with raw cucumber and carrot — something I have never seen in a traditional biryani.

I also got the mixed balti (chicken, prawn, and lamb), which I was told was one of their popular dishes. Sadly, that too didn’t deliver any authentic Indian flavours. The dish tasted bland, with no depth or character you'd expect from Indian cuisine.

To make matters worse, the food was packed in ordinary plastic containers that spilled during transport — not great presentation for takeaway.

When I called the restaurant to share my feedback, they simply said, “That’s how we cook our food.” While they were polite, there was no real willingness to understand or improve.

If you are looking for delicious, authentic Indian food, I highly recommend Masalchi by Atul Kocchar near Wembley Station — their food is absolutely amazing and full of genuine flavour.

We had another excellent meal Saturday night and the service was excellent

I promised Abdul we'd review. We were searching for the best Indian in London while visiting (now 11 months ago!).

I think we definitely found. Lovely service. Food top notch.

Ok now i must say on my visit to london last may was a bit rainy...considering the weather and all the work....i got into this little restaurant on tooley street for lunch...and i was perplexed seeing this restaurant was fantastic inside with all the service, food and ambience into a great experience. must recommend to everyone!
