The safety on the sheffield streets is absolutely poor!!!! Been attacked by a BLACK PERSON in the middle of the street with an axe 🪓, meanwhile resting with my husband a few min on the street after walking our dog....we called immediately the POLICE and NOBODY CAME....totally EXPOSING US... I might be even pregnant (we still wait for the results 🤞...I might be in an early pregnancy) ....I told them that a man is attacking us and threatening us with an axe 🪓 and they were like keeping us at chatting about what is the name of the street for 5 minutes in string....I asked them why they do not access the GPS from my mobile phone, and they started to pretend that NOW I was some how a bad person FOR CALLING THE POLICE WHEN ATTACKED WITH AN AXE!!! I asked them if they want us to be killed or why they do not come straight, and wait so much at the phone doing nothing immediately 😒!!!!! I hope that those police officers that done nothing meanwhile WE HAVE BEEN TREATHENED LIKE THIS, MEANWHILE BEING MAYBE EVEN PREGNANT ...TO GO IN HELL!!!!! And us to have the right people doing service to the community, and cameras on the streets to keep us actually safe!!!!! That man who attacked us would have never been supposed to ever even come out to us, to myself with an axe!!! It to go in hell 5 million times!!!!! 😮☹️

Sheffield City Council are an absolute disgrace to deal with, you have to stay on hold for hours then they either fob you off, or cut you off. How a city can run with obselete staff from bottom tier to the top corrupt tier, I will never know. The whole council staff are on a right jolly, do nothing and get paid. Absolute disgrace.

I would give zero if possible. It seems sheffield city council give a licence to dig up roads remove trees, but when it comes to repair of our culdisac they don't own the land...
A few of our neighbours used solicitor to take them to court due to subsidence of the property's.
Wow after surveys due to these said trees, they were removed.
Lived here 18 years and tried many times due to no tv signal.
I know what your thinking petty!!!!

Contacted an MP for westfield sheffield, the council sent 2 brick layers to repair tarmac....
I rest my case....

Sheffield city council is a JOKE!!!!

Clean Air Zone camera's ? Apparently they have been installed to deter users of vans and larger vehicles from polluting their wonderful inner city ring road area with carbon monoxide gases. (About as much good as wearing a face mask while waiting to be seated in a restaurant, then removing it once you have sat down)(Because we all know Covid doesn't attack people sitting down)
What they fail to mention is that they have placed camera's 200 yards up a street that is not in the ring road, and can only be travelled one way (Duke Street) unless it's a bus (which kick out more fumes than a crematorium during WW2)

So, as a van driver, commuting to the city to work on a listed building, because they can't get local trades to do the job, i was sent copious amounts of CAZ fines. I reviewed these and found that i'd not actually travelled along some of the roads they claim they caught me using, and also the times i was allegedly there, i was actually in bed at home some 35 miles away.
Naturally i sent my denial claims in, and they were rejected. I asked the Traffic ombudsman to help, and low and behold, Sheffield City Council squashed the CAZ fines because "they were made aware of a fault with the camera system, so these CAZ fines will be closed with no further action.

5 months later, i receive 7 more CAZ fines, so i appealed, and lost (again) so approached the traffic ombudsman. It wasn't until i dug out the old paperwork, that i realised that these "new" fines, were in fact old ones that had been closed due to faulty camera's.
After uploading my evidence and stating my claim, i received an internal message through the Traffic ombudsman to say that one of the CAZ fines is now permanently closed - it just so happens to be one of the fines where i never actually used that road .... how bizzar !!
In my defence, i explained that my diesel van (with current MOT, passed emissions test & insurance) had the same engine as a diesel car, and yet cars and motorcycles have a free pass through the city, but vans need to pay the CAZ charge ? Please explain that to me.

Anyway, as it stands, I am still waiting for Sheffield City Council to justify why:
My van has to pay but a car doesn't
Why have they tried to reinstate closed CAZ fines with an increase of over £120 each (7 in total)
How have they managed to "catch me on camera" using a road I have never travelled along
Tried to deny me of my freedom to use a public highway in a taxed, insured & MOT'd vehicle
Discriminated against me for carrying my tools in a van, not a car.
Needless to say that i have turned down plenty of well paid jobs in Sheffield since, and have absolutely no intentions of ever returning in the future, no matter how much money they offer me.

EXPOSING SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL, with reference to julie dore exmp kicked out! AND, nearly 2 decades of trying to get help support, not had any, been convicted for using profanity labels for those involved with julie dore Kate sheldon et al getting away with hiding my child abuse..........because my father died from a train suicide in 1977. They hid that too......that's how they have exposed themselves, and their methodzz.......shame on you all, the cringe embarrassment must be a horrible feeling, but so what, howz 46 yrs of pain, knowing your dad was minced by British Rail train after I told at home, I was being abused by my sisters mother-in-law the deputy head of Abbey Dale 1st and middle school, made me such an Easy target, all my life............its not Palestine!

What a HORRIBLE landlord/council. They have victimised me since 2011 when the Ombudsman found in MY favour and got me £150 compensation. This was because the council left me without water from 22-31 DEC 2011 when they WOULDN'T fix my burst pipes. Ive had problems with the council EVER since this compensnation was awarded.

They ignore ALL my letters and haven't got the slightest interest in their LEGAL ogligations as a landlord.

TWO ISSUES NEED HELP WITH:
1) Last year an elderly VERY nosy, next-door neighbour had the audacity to put a letter through my door when he saw I'd dug holes for fence posts. He then objected to a fence & accused me of being anti-social because I want privacy. The cheek of it, eh?

He then arrogantly said that if I DID erect a fence, it MUST be high standard! Who does this guy think he is??!! He "hides" behind his old-age and relies on people's compassion to let him get away with provoking. He is well known for his arrogance & mouthing off. The council WILL NOT warn this neighbour about his behaviour.
2) I had letters "supposedly" from HEC CONTRACTING LTD asking for access to my property for survey/inspection. I googled the phone number & was shown as a SPAM number. Someone also said they are PRETENDING to be working for the council.
I sent a copy of the letters to the council and asked for confirmation if they ARE genuine letters from HEC Contracting LTD. The council WILL NOT reply. So, I WILL NOT allow access. That is MY legal right to avoid being scammed by criminals trying to con their way into my property.

You would think that Sheffield council would encourage caution of this nature. After all, if it IS a con and these "SUPPOSED" contractors cause damage to MY property, the council will blame ME.

Also, I NEVER accept letters that say "THE OCCUPIER" especially when wanting access. So, subsequent letters were NOT opened & marked as REFUSED.

These are TWO issues the council will NOT help me with. As regards my neighbour, I am doing my best to avoid him, but now I've erected a fence, he has taken it upon himself to keep walking past my LOWER fence next to the public footpath to ensure he can STILL watch me (but I can't afford to buy ANOTHER fence to make THIS higher). He ESPECIALLY does this if he knows I'm "IN" my garden. It's pure provocation to try to get a "reaction" from me for erecting afence. Whereas, this wouldn't be happening if the council had done their job and warned him to keep away from me and keep his nose out of my life. So, it proved pointless erecting a fence. So I just stay INSIDE most of the time & live like a prisoner fearful of what will happen he DOES get a "reaction" from me. After all, I am much younger than him & am NOT at any risk. But my Civil Liberties ARE! So, I stay INSIDE with my curtains closed. Fair. eh? It's also difficult to exchange as I was showing a "viewee" my garden, so my nosy neighbour decided to walk past and put the mockers on it for me.

The council SHOULD issue warnings to people like this. These anti-social, nosy people CAN destroy lives. But the council DO NOT care!

Over a year ago) Aug 13 2022 I made the council aware of this when I HAND-delivered a letter to Town Hall. I also posted letters. But NEVER got a reply. Also, never received a reply regarding my OTHER issue of a contractor "CLAIMING" they are working on behalf of the council. All I ask for is confirmation if it IS genuine. After all, we HAVE to protect ourselves against criminals trying to CON their way in. But council WON'T tell me if it's genuine. They DON'T care. What a HORRIBLE council. I give minus 1000000 stars. Not the obligatory ONE star!

what a dump of a city. Road system is a labyrinth of poorly marked bus lanes and really poor situated hotels designed this way i suspect to maximise traffic fines from visitors. I will never recommend this once great city to anyone based purely on the greed of the council.

Despite having a consultation and a petition signed by over 4000 against gypsy site at Drakehouse the brainless at the council seem to be going ahead,spending OUR MONEY on these sites what nobody wants or needs.

Most incompetent council ever, allowing multiple road closures and works at the same time causing horrendous delays for people trying to get home. Why we pay council tax to them is a total mystery

Sheffield city council refused to fix disrepairs in my vulnerable mothers home who has dementia and bowel cancer, she's been living with me since November as its too dangerous to stay there. We've had to get solicitors because all these people do is lie, ignore and cover the lies. No point going to MPs or police as they're all part of the same useless, corrupt, ignorant, vile group.

They lack communication with people who are using them or working with. They don't clean areas. Near Kelham island there is rubbish everywhere amd smashed glass on the side of road from 2 cars 7 months ago nothing done and there was a council van park 1oo yards doing nothing playing on his phone. They don't follow through repairs for people home they love to say we are low in budge but then boast about how much profit they've made since introducing the clean air zone. They waste more money on things e.g the shipment market that they over spent and then left. I also work on their behalf and the treatmeant from the resident's are disgusting. I generally feel sorry for anyone who has to use them you will be left in the dark.

I visited Sheffield for the first time recently. Looks like a nice City. I won't though be returning.

I drove into the City and made the mistake of temporarily entering a bus lane. I was caught on camera and have been fined.

I appealed the fine explaining that I was visitor; my mistake was temporary and that on a Sunday evening at 19:38 there was no driving advantage to me making the mistake.

My appeal was rejected and I cannot take the chance to be fined again.

Sheffield City Council have discouraged me from visiting the City again. I won't be booking hotels, visiting restaurants, going to museums etc. Is this what a council should be doing for the City it represents?

They have my details on record and I explained that if I ever made the mistake again, I'd gladly pay a fine. No, not sufficient.

Of course no one likes paying fines but where I've clearly done wrong, I'll always pay. This though seems like the council are cashing in on a tourist who made a mistake.

I have being trying to contact Sheffield City Council for 2 weeks now in regards to Council tax, I am either left on hold for over an hour where I give up as I have other things to do or a message tells me they cannot take my call as they are too busy and to call back another time. I am currently on hold again and have been for 35 minutes.

incompetent and incapable of answering the phone. lots of info about treating their staff with respect and them trying to answer your important call. but they wont actually answer. too busy checking their gold plated pension forecast to work efficiently.

I have lived at my current address since 2018.My next-door neighbours are the"NOSIEST"I have EVER had.Even in the EARLY stages I saw the elderly man next door watching me through the fence at the bottom of my garden.I yelled and he moved VERY quickly. So I knew EVEN THEN that I had a problem.

One thing he HATES is for people who feed wildlife. So, as he watches me DURING the day, I started doing this at night/early hours.So, he installed a security light to deter me.He then had the arrogance to install a camera when his security light DIDN'T deter me. As I can't get an privacy, I dug - without his knowledge - six holes for fence posts in late June 2022.On July the 8th 2022 he saw me bring fence posts back.Then on the 11th of July he put an arrogant letter through my door at 10pm and woke me and OBJECTED to my plans to fit a fence.Yes, a NOSEY NEIGHBOUR who"THINKS"it is HIS business what I do in MY garden! I was startled when the letter came through my door as I thought someone was breaking in.So, when I read it my stress and anxiety levels were already SKY HIGH. So, I turned VERY nasty and abusinve and began shouting, swearing and slamming doors. I shouted and made it clear to keep his nosey out. But even after THIS, he appraoched me and tried provoking me. So I ignored the man. But he WON'T get the message to LEAVE me alone and that he is NOT wanted. I do my best to avoid HIM, but he simply won't"avoid"ME. We ALL have a limit and it is OUR choice of we WANT privacy and NOT to have anything to do with our neighbours. We ALL have that choice. Likewise, the fitting of a fence.

I pointed out to the council that I needed them to issue warnngs to him. I also demanded that he be warned that the FILMING of someone's premises is ILLEGAL and to make him aware of this.I also demanded that his securty light be RE-positioned so as NOT to intrude into MY privacy and NOT illumuinate me up when I walk into MY garden at night. After all, the camera AND securty light WERE installed purely to keep me from using MY garden. Yes, MY garden for which I pay rent to use at ANY time of day and night! After all, no one likes to be spied on.

I cannot tell you how intrusive it is to have a light come on as soon as I walk into MY garxden. And, then to see the camera "flashing" and starts to film when it DETECTS movements is akin a Prisoner of War having a search light watching them. I feel like a prisoner and I "avoid" my garden day and night.

In August 2022 I hand-delivered a letter to Sheff ield council at the Town Hall in Sheffield & I gavde them a copy of HIS letter. I then posted one by recorded delivery as a safeguard about 20 mins later. BOTH were ignored.

Can you imagine what it would like if EVERY nosey neighbour in the country OBJECTED to people who want THEIR privacy. We would have UTTER mayhem and it is the counci's responsibility to issue warnings and make these people aware to mind their OWN business and that EVERYONE is entitled to have privacy if they SO choose. EVERONE I have shown my neighbour's letter to has agreed with ME and said "WHAT THE HELL HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH HIM". So, why won't the council do the same?

I suffer very HIGH stress and anxiety levels and am on ESA for my conditions. I HAVE to avoid stressful situations as I CAN turn nasty when provoked. But with a neighbour like this the ONLY way I can avoid this is to "HIDE" away like a prisoner. Yes, HE has free-reign whilst I stay inside for fear that he continues with HIS provocation.

I am NOT at "risk" as he is a pensioner, but SOME pensioners CAN be worse than YOUNG people. After all, they "HIDE" beind their age and think it gives them PROTECTION.

I used to have astronomy as a hobby and would sit outside during the night star-gazing.But as soon as I move my head,the light comes on and the camera is flashing.So I HAD to give this up.

As well as issuing warnings about his camera and security light, I wanted the council to give me "OFFICIAL" permission (NOT that I need it) to fit my fence.

By the way, this arrogant couple next door are the most anti-social people I have EVER lived next to and have woken and disturbed me thousands of times in four years. This is NOT an exaggeration. I HAVE to go to sleep with a DVD running or leave the radio playing CONSTANTLY otherwise the neighbours wake me up. This has happened since 2018. And, yet, the council "claim" they take anti-social behaviour SERIOUSLY. Whereas, ANYONE who rents from Sheff council will tell you, they DO NOT care.

My life has been ruined for over FOUR years and I regret moving here. But the council will NOT let me have ANOTHER bungalow even though they will be getting BACK an "equialent" bungalow.So, ALL I can do is fit some privacy screening in the hope that it helps to encourage an EXCHANGE. After all, he watches EVERYTHING and it deters people who view my property. So why wont the council come down on MY side and HELP me? We NEED privacy

I called today to speak to someone about cancelling my council tax. I spent 27 minutes on hold and then it eventually started ringing, and then I was immediately cut off! A total waste of time - I'm not surprised to see such terrible reviews here!

Been sat on hold for 1hr and 45 mins so far waiting for someone to answer my call!

I understand waiting but this is ridiculous
