Toxic Work Environment
I had a terrible experience working at Silkpress Express. The founder and district manager, Lelene, is incredibly negative and unappreciative, making it difficult to feel valued in the workplace. The company’s policies are inflexible and unreasonable—requiring you to arrive 15 minutes early with no grace period for delays or unexpected changes. Communication is poor, and there's a clear lack of teamwork and professionalism.
I was especially frustrated when Lelene criticized me for working quickly to take care of clients, even though the issue was her stylists' slow pace. She has her own thermal sprays, moisturizer and hair oil. But other than that The hair products used are nothing special—easily available at Target, Marshalls, or Ulta Beauty so there’s no unique selling point there.
Lelene was unprofessional and seemed bothered by my work, even though I was just doing my job. After an unpleasant interaction with her and Bessa, I was told to go home, which I did. I’m glad to be out of that toxic environment and would not recommend anyone to work there or do business with them. FYI they need to be less toxic and work on Bessa not working with poor hygiene. She was very stink Saturday wearing that same body suit she wore last week! Her arms went up n was definitely giving an unpleasant scent! Nasty Haitians! I quit, they can keep those crumbs that they’re supposed to pay me and buy some class and professionalism! God has better for me!
