We will never use Simpson Travel again!
We will never use Simpson Travel again, I feel they purposely misled, and that they withheld information that would have meant we would have cancelled our holiday and rebooked elsewhere.
We booked a holiday to “The Eden Collection - Villa Maya in Kalkan, Turkey” with Simpson Travel believing that we were booking with an experienced and trustworthy travel agency after reviewing their website and their many pictures of the villa. They’ve been operating in Kalkan for many years and have a local representative there.
We booked this holiday on 7th January 2025 to depart on the 8th June 2025. I was contacted by Simpson Travel on the 4th June to advise that there had been a construction that would “obstruct some aspects of the current view from Villa Maya” which they had known about since mid-April 2025. They had obviously withheld this information until 4 days before we departed leaving me no option to do anything but continue with our holiday.
I believe they purposely withheld this information because in the email they stated “Had we known about this sooner, we would have contacted you immediately.” but they knew in Mid-April, so could have contacted me nearly 2 months earlier, but didn't. As they have a representative in Kalkan (a very small town) and a good relationship with the owner of the Villa I can’t imagine how they would not have known earlier that this building work was completed.
While they have very updated their photos on the website, they have been very careful to hide the building works behind plant pots and take the photos from angles that minimize the impact of this messy building site. These building works will progress, and the view will be further blocked.
After we complained about this lack of transparency, we were given a very small credit with restrictions of where we could use it which didn’t compensate at all for the ruined view. When we tried to use this via the local concierge we had further problems where it wasn’t applied to our restaurant visit in one instance, and when we tried to use this to pay for our transfer they altered our transfer booking meaning we were delayed leaving the villa for the airport by 30mins while we had to sort this problem ourselves causing more stress.

Antwoord van Simpson Travel
Dear Steven,
Thank you for your leaving your Trustpilot review, and we’re sorry to hear of your disappointment following your recent holiday with us in Kalkan, Turkey.
At Simpson Travel, we always aim to be fully transparent with our valued guests, and we regret not informing you sooner, about the partially obstructed view at Villa Maya. This is not the standard of communication we aim to provide and understand how the timing of this notification affected your holiday.
Your feedback has highlighted an important area for improvement, and we will be much more proactive in sharing important information like this in the future to avoid a similar situation.
We take on board your comments regarding the current website photos for Villa Maya and will review and update them if there are further changes to the view, though it’s worth saying that the villa still offers guests stunning views across Kalkan Bay.
Regarding the goodwill credit offered to you for use in-resort, this was provided without any restrictions. Our local concierge made several attempts to assist you in redeeming it, and we’re glad to hear that it was used.
As for your airport transfer, there seems to have been a misunderstanding with the vehicle you booked independently. Unfortunately, the remaining balance of your credit was not enough to cover the full cost of your transfer, however, we’re pleased the transfer company was able to resolve this issue for you.
With over 40 years of experience in the luxury holiday sector, Simpson Travel has built a trusted, award-winning reputation for excellence. We always strive to deliver an exceptional holiday experience and truly regret that you were left feeling disappointed on this occasion.
Yours sincerely,
Richard Latham

The best experience, not just with a travel company, but with any company, that we’ve had for a long time. Everything was easy - the booking process through to the holiday itself, with dedicated staff in each location who were friendly, courteous and amazingly efficient. The properties were as described (gorgeous interiors and stunning views), the transfers and car hire were made very easy and we had a wonderful time.

Turkey - Sophie Simpson
We had a family holiday booked to turkey. I was contact by Sophie before I left the uk to explain everything I needed to know about. When we arrived at turkey Sophie was there to great us and had our car ready for us which was amazing clean and no emergency lights on like all of the other cars we have had before . We left the airport within 29 mins of arriving . Sophie met us at the villa next day and answered all our questions we had . It was my son’s birthday so Sophie organised a cake for him . The villa was something like out of a film amazing . Sophie was only a call away when we needed her and she always checked in with us . The instructions for the return was simple also . Sophie definitely made our holiday that little bit more special . We will definitely use this company again 100%. Love from the caseleys xxx
