The manageress managed to be both surly and disinterested. I have visited this place over the last 40 years. It has changed but not for the better. The young waiting staff were polite and efficient, The food was mediocre one dish had been cremated and was sent back. Given they have a limited and uninspiring menu you would hope they could do these dishes well. They lost our desset order which they apologised for but after waiting 40 mins for it we gave up. I would add that this was early evening and they werent even half full. There used to be a childrens play area but that is now gone

New year break in a great little hotel. Given a warm welcome, Rooms are lovely, very plush with little cute homely touches. Very dog friendly!!
Food was good quality, nourishing bowl amazing. Breakfast food too
Catered for intolerances well and did not make you feel like an alien!!

We both had different meals which I must say were very nice. The Steak Pie & Pork Tomahawk, unfortunately the whole meal experience was let down by the service. We were led to our booked table and left, we didn't know if anyone was coming to take an order or not so after sometime I downloaded the displayed ordering app but not all meals were on the website, So I went to ask a girl and was told she didn't know if this area of the pub had waitress service. she then found someone who took our order. When main meal was finished again there was no-one around to take an desert order, so I then queued at the bar for the desert order. The whole experience was let down by us trying to work out how we would get served.

Beautiful location. High price food and minimal portions. To the establishment: £20+ for a small portion of hake, a spoonful of beans and three pieces of courgette will not see us recommending anyone to eat with you. We left and filled up elsewhere.

Very nice pub and perfect to rest your feet and fill your belly when walking the stunning coast of Dorset.
