inverter not working

inverter not working , so we called Solis 3 times , they promised call backs but only did so on the 3rd call from me. They said because the inverter was over 5 years old they couldn't help. Case closed. No help on finding someone to come and replace the broken inverter , didnt really seem interested.

Solis Inverter replacement.

To be fair I had an issue with my inverter and they were very professional and attentive and got the problem sorted quickly sending me a replacement inverter.Very friendly and professional.

Horrible hybrid inverters

When it works it works but dont trust it to work for long. They update app and inverter functionalities on their own when they want and usually 4 out of 5 times they break the controls for nordpool electricity exchange price limits and you have to manually start to input charge and discharge times which is a pain.

So if you only have panels and inverter i think is ok but so is EVERY OTHER MORE CHEAPER ONES!

With battery packs, stay away and go with something US or EU made. Chinese ones leak your data and enable a backdoor to your home network.

Service number usually dont answer and emails are ignored.

Warranty Service? What Warranty Service?

My three year old Solis Inverter has started to trip the 30mA RCD in my distribution board. Resetting it lasts for ten mins max before it trips again. Isolate the Solar PV system and the trip-outs cease. Reported it at 12:53 to Service Dept as the Inverter is still under warranty. I was assured by a nice lady ‘the Tech was on the other line” but she would contact him to phone me back. NOTHING. Phoned again at 15:39 to enquire why no one had called me back and a nice lady confirmed the Service Team had been sent an email to call me at 13:00. She advised she would send another email and mark it “URGENT”. Still no call back! Reported here after seeing how poor the standard of all the Reviews - Solis haven’t even responded to the numerous complaints about aftersales service (or total lack of). I suggest people think very carefully before choosing Solis equipment. One star awarded because I can’t award zero stars and the call handler was very polite on both occasions.

UPDATE:Phoned again this morning. Complained about not being called back. So they promised to get the tech to call me……..NO CALLBACK RECEIVED!

FINAL UPDATE: Gave up on Ginlong and and asked local qualified Electrician to check the supply out. Diagnosed a loose connection in consumer unit. Replaced burned out connecting wire and MCB. Bill reimbursed by original installer without quibble. This was 7 months ago. Ginlong NEVER did call back. EVER!

STAY AWAY!

Had Solis inverter installed by Vision2030 and have needed constant support.

Be warned, Solis Inverter UK \ EU are not interested in supporting you. Your warranty will not be honoured.

Ask for an alternative from the Solar installer and save yourself the headache of using products from this company.

Substandard service and NO LIVE data

- You can't see your LIVE solar data on an app/website. The information provided on those platforms is a simple snapshot of a precise moment in time in the past 10 mins. This only refreshes every 5-10mins and most times is not accurate.
This is particularly bad when you want to know what you're producing now to switch something on rather knowing what happened 10mins ago!

- Their help service is hit and miss... sometimes you get someone who understands your issue and resolves it fairly quickly (48hrs) and some other times, you spend more that 2 weeks explaining the error to some agent over and over without him really unserstanding. (I'm currently at this stage - 2 weeks and counting ... and no resolution at sight).

Wish I would have read the reviews first GARBAGE

Started to ring 18thJune of a Wi-Fi dongle.
I have emailed them spoke to them on the Liverpool Bootle UK office 0151 453 6515 staff saying they are trying to get someone to ring me. Comes with all the usual garbage high volume of calls. We use recording to help and educate. Still waiting, you need to look inwardly at your self and the service you are handing out.

Avoid having these installed

Avoid having one of their inverters installed. Despite still being under warranty Solis are refusing my installer a replacement for a faulty inverter. We’ve only had it a few months and it has had several faults. Additionally the software provided with this product harks back to the bad old days of IT and is not user friendly.

Worst company in the world to deal…

Worst company in the world to deal with.
Rented a caravan from us for workmen and absolutely trashed the place.
Have been fighting with the company ever since to be reimbursed....seems to be never anyone available to answer queries.
And when they do its a string of one lie after another.
Do not trust this company they are bad news.
If anything goes wrong with the work they are carrying out you will never manage to speak to anyone about it.
Company are a shambles !!
As for their workmen...useless!
NOTICE ALL THE BAD FEEDBACK THEY GET AND NOT A SINGLE SOUL EVEN TRIES TO JUSTIFY IT....THEY DON'T GIVE A HOOT....UNPROFESSIONAL BUNCH OF COWBOYS

Shouldn’t be trading!

This is a company which any other world would not have customers. As already noted, they refuse to acknowledge problems from their equipment. After months of unsatisfactory contact with them they told the contractor I was using, to just tell the customer to reset the inverter when it goes wrong, which was happening about twice a week on average! They simply don’t care and show it very well.

Never buy a Solis Power Inverter - when they work they are ok, when they break the support is simply sub-standard

Summary:
- EU support is not in EU time so clearly outsourced somewhere cheap.
- As they outsourced the support you get responses to tickets at 6/7am night and they never respond during the day this slows down any trouble shooting.
- The support team never ever ever answer the phone. They play Rick Astley before hanging up 2 mins later - the maximum you can hold for an operative is 5.5mins. Once I’ve gotten through and found I was talking to the receptionist who said she would leave them a note - they never responded, called or email me back.
- They say they update your system if you complain about anything thinking that will insta-fix it - but they never tell you what the update was supposed to fix (I’ve asked several times).
- They wipe your settings and don’t tell you so your battery system runs out of charge.
- They mess up the time zones to totally screw up all settings resulting in you discharging into your car at night and charging on max rate electricity during the day (they set the time zone to China [which suggests that is was Chinese staff working on it]).
- They refuse to acknowledge problems.
- They refuse to tell you what the patch they applied did.
- Their inverter needs a connection (it connects every 5 mins) to China to work with the App and if you block it just once it wipes all the wireless settings.
- Their software snoops on the local network.
- They have rubbish security. The password for all devices is literally 0010 - that’s three key presses.
