We have rented containers from this company during peak season for years, always using exactly the same electrical supply without any issues.
This time, however, the unit failed almost immediately after it was commissioned. Their engineer left site before confirming that the container had actually reached and maintained the required temperature, and shortly afterwards the unit stopped working.
What made matters worse was that they first claimed the compressor had burnt out due to our power supply and quoted us £4,786 + VAT for a call-out and compressor replacement.
Later, they admitted the compressor was actually fine and changed the diagnosis completely, saying only the PCB had failed. They then continued trying to blame our electrical supply, despite the fact that we have been using the same supply for years without any issue.
Even more concerning, one of their own engineers had already written internally that “everything was fine when commissioned”, which completely contradicts their later attempt to place all responsibility on us.
The only failed component was the PCB section, yet they still tried to charge us for repairs without providing proper fault logs, technical reports or evidence proving that our supply caused the failure.
To make matters even worse, despite supplying equipment that failed from the start, they still charged us the full hire cost for the container as though everything had worked properly.
We were left with faulty equipment, lost time, disruption during a busy period and a large unexpected bill, while the company refused to take responsibility.
Very disappointing experience and not the level of service we expected after years of using them.
