Taken out 17yr old provisional license learning insurance. You expect a 12 month commitment but by the nature of them learning some will Pass within that year so should not be compulsory 12 months... Toon meer

Absolutely amazing service every single…

Absolutely amazing service every single time I call! I have also referred friends and family to sterling as I wouldn’t recommend anyone else! I have 2 cars insured with sterling and never had any issues, the staff are also so pleasant and helpful! The team are very helpful and knowledgable with modified cars too!

Warning! You’ll Still Be Charged the Full Policy When You Pass Your Test

My son took out learner driver insurance with this company in November and passed his test at the beginning of March. We informed them immediately and chose not to continue with their full policy as their quote was far higher than others. We therefore cancelled the learner policy.

We were then shocked to receive a bill for £148.94. Charging this amount on a learner policy, where it is entirely predictable that the policy may end early due to passing a test, feels both unreasonable and unfair.

When I contacted customer service, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. The representative simply repeated that it was “in the Terms & Conditions,” offering no real explanation or empathy. Key charges like this should be made clear upfront, not buried in lengthy small print.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would strongly caution others against using this company, especially if there is any chance the learner may pass their test before the policy ends.

Think Insurance - Think Sterling

Samantha, who took my call, was unbelievably helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. She had great patience in assisting me to use my keyboard to trace the information that I required. Sterling are very fortunate to have staff of such calibre working for them. Her attitude would immediately encourage friends to do business with Sterling.

DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS you’d nearly…

DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS you’d nearly think they were lonely with how much they phone you threatening to cancel ur policy. Not to mention it took 4 members of staff across about 2 months to change my address. I am a new driver and rly don’t need this stress. Asked them how much it would be to buy out my policy just to never have to speak to them again but unfortunately it’s ridiculously high. Their smart box is also so sensitive often giving u a bad score if u accidentally hit 50. Go with Hastings or literally ANYONE else. I’m so genuinely sick of this insurance company and I’m stuck with them until my policy ends so just warning especially new drivers to not bother whatsoever with this waste of an insurance company. Hope yous read this as years of my life is being taken off me from the sheer stress of this company. Sorry posted on google and c+p here so everyone has a chance to know to never ever ever ever ever ever ever even look in this’s companies direction.

Recipe for success

Every time I have had to make an enquiry or clarification, no matter what operator they were superb, you certainly have found the right recipe for customer service. The hardest part now is maintaining the very high standard you have set.
Congratulations and well done a real pleasant experience.

When I had to change car insurance companies, I rang customer service and was pleasantly surprised to be answered by a human called Michael. He went above and beyond to help me sort out my insurance issues and could not have been more empathetic and offer positive helpful advice. Sterling are very lucky to have this man on their staff .. My call was answered within 1 minute, my details were checked and I renewed my car insurance. Great price and service. The agent was polite and knowledgable. Efficient service would recommend to friends and family.

Shocking

Shocking.

Never been asked for so much information to insure a car in my life. Cancelled and they took half my premium after only being insured for 3 weeks. Sent multiple proof of no claims etc was not good enough.

Website a joke. No help. Stay clear. Not a professional set up at all.
