Really good experience using Straw and Pearce, particularly Emma Sharp who was a tremendous help with our house sale. We will be recommending them to friends and family

Used Straw & Pearce for our property sale. Emma Sharp was our solicitor, and we’re incredibly glad she was. Very responsive, supportive and understanding during a sale which collapsed and got things sorted very quickly and efficiently when we found a new buyer. We felt we could ask questions and would have responses promptly with clear explanations. Would absolutely use again.

Sarah Greaves was very helpful with my case from the start till the end. She gave the best legal advice and guidance throughout my case with leicester local authority (social services) which lasted for 6 months. She made sure I had all the best possible support which lead to winning the case. You are a star ⭐️

After not hearing anything for a couple of weeks on our house move. I had a conversation with someone who spoke to me like a misbehaving school child, they were adamant that their new computer system had sent us forms. When I reported that was not the case and there was no record in our inbox or text messages... it was clear their company couldn't do basic communication.

Dodged a bullet here and went with another company who did more in the first 15 minutes.

Given the tone of the person on the phone, I took great pleasure in taking my business elsewhere. A real shame as I would like to support a local company and they were very efficient the first time I used them.

I had thankfully received legal aid which I'm now having attached to my new property following the house sale after divorce. Pramila Meghani was my Solicitor. She was competent however had zero compassion or people skills. I did not feel supported at all. The whole process was traumatic and the only positive point I have was the barrister Stuart was great. Friendly, kind and I was confident with his capabilities representing me. Unfortunately the negative outweighs the positive and I felt like a second class citizen due to having the legal aid accepted. Would not recommend.

Used these to defend me some years ago. Too bad that 1 star in the minimum, would get negative 5 if could. I did not get legal aid. Solicitor told me to go "no indication" at magistrates, said she would do "this and that blabla at crown court". Because I went no indication my legal fees were much higher than if I had just went guilty at magistrates and then sentenced at crown court. At Crown court on trial day MY SOLICITOR DID NOT, I REPEAT, DID NOT TURN UP! I had some duty solicitor sit me down 5 minutes before my case to learn my name and my offence and said absolutely nothing in my trial! for such a life changing moment for me the soliciter from S&P, her name beginning "D" did not even bother to turn up at my court case and did not even give me any advance warning or a reason why she couldn't make it. And I still had to pay legal fees for legal services I did not receive. Worst experience ever.

Completed a sale and purchase and some of the worst customer service I have had. Legal documents with names spelt incorrectly and property detail incorrect. I repeatedly informed them of errors but this didn't make any difference. They rarely return calls or replied to emails and provided very little in the way of updates off their own back. Customer service remained poor to the end when the called me the wrong name on the day of completion and only then told me the solicitors dealing with my case had left the company. Still now weeks later, even though I have sent feedback directly to them I have had no contact to discuss this. Save your money use an online company where at least you will have a portal that you can review your progress and not feel that you are left in the dark. In summary Straw and Pearce are overpriced and offer in my experience a very poor quality service with absolutely now personal touch or regard for their clients as individuals.

I asked for documentation to be verified/notarised as part of my onboarding to another law firm. This was refused as I am not an existing client of the firm. This I found strange as their current website advertises a full range of notary services describing exactly what I was asking for (see their website section "Services for Individuals"). I questioned this and the receptionist told me this was out of date. I struggle to understand how this firm gains new clients.
