Amazing day
An exallent collection staff all new there stuff and created a great experience , especially Adam who was warm welcoming and very well informed. And there is a fun little ride around a small track in a tank like personal carrier, great for young boys
COBI Sherman Fury
The Sherman Fury was delivered extremely quick. I had so much fun building this tank. It's quite sturdy and every movable part does what it's supposed to do. It was hard to attach the wood blocks to the tank with the included ropes, but that just makes the building fun much bigger. It's now on diplay in my livinc room and everyby visitor loves the model. Well done, Bovington 👍
Great day out
We visited here in the Christmas holiday and it was excellent. The staff were very knowledgeable, the exhibitions were interesting and up to date. Glad the tickets last 12 months.
We’ll head back when warmer as it was a tad chilly when we visited!
Reflect on what you see.
At a loose end my adult son and I thought it could be worth a visit - and so it was. So glad it is a 12 month ticket as there is no way that a single visit does it justice.
I have no military background. I came away with utmost admiration for those that designed and manufactured these monsters. But of course even greater respect for those that fought from inside them; I simply cannot imagine what it was like to be squeezed inside, fighting for your life and the lives of your comrades.
We saw groups of all ages, and all nationalities, all of whom were completely “taking it all in”.
I shall be back.
I think this is the best museum in…
I think this is the best museum in England. I’ve visited several times and it never disappoints. The space is very generous and the tanks are exceptionally well laid out. There’s something for everyone — from tank experts (like my son), to young children, and to those with a general interest like myself. The staff are friendly and always happy to help, and the food is good too.
Christmas tank visit
Went for the first time lots of tanks but couldn't really get up close to most of them as they were surrounded by Christmas stalls and as for Santa turning up on a tank wasn't really a tank more like a troop carrier was expecting him to turn up on a challenger 2 or something similar not one with wheels but ho ho shan't go again if it's the same next Christmas, they should pick their brains and come up with something worth while for the cost.
Disappointed by poorly maintained kids activities
I was so disappointed by our visit today. The tank exhibits are amazing and truly interesting it feels like you've tried to cater for children but as a poorly maintained afterthought. I saw your advert on Facebook and I felt like it promised so much but didn't live up to the hype. We were really excited to see the live tank demonstration, as were my kids but in reality there was 20 minutes of talking about the tanks and 5 minutes of actual action. It would have been so great if that ratio was reversed. My children were left disappointed. In the soft play area we were promised some STEM activities which transpired to be colouring or design your own tank (just drawing or colouring) very uninspiring. A quick Google of stem activities on propulsion yields many fun activities that could have been set up for kids to try. We then went into an area that had some wooden and Lego tanks to assemble. My kids were immediately engaged only to find that so many of the Lego bits were missing that there was no possibility of assembling the kits properly. Lots of the children had leaflets where they had to find things to stamp. It would have been great if this had been handed to us on arrival. It wasn't even mentioned when we paid for our tickets so we missed out on that because we avoided the gift shop where they were available. There could also have a quiz type sheet at a higher level so older children had to read and search for information. Bristol Aerospace to this really well. The games and toys area turned out to be more colouring and a very small selection of toys from the gift shop to play with. There were tables of scenery and little men but no tanks to play with so what excitement had been generated was lost because they wanted to "play tanks". This feels like a really obvious thing to have. Or maybe there were tanks and it was just poorly maintained like the Lego. The best thing for them was the tank playground which got a big thumbs up. As adults we were really interested but our kids were disappointed and frustrated repeatedly. There is so much potential for this to be a great day out but kids are an afterthought. This is an EXPENSIVE day out for a family where you are left with kids having repeated meltdowns because there is a lack of innovative engaging things for kids. If the person who was responsible for your Facebook advertising was put in charge of children's engagement maybe it would be a different story. I wanted this so much to be brilliant and it just fell so far short of the mark.

Have emailed repeatedly from Australia to see if a specific request could be accommodated. Waste of time, poor customer service.
Great day out
Great day out - and you ticket allows entry for 12 months. More than enough to see and do in one day and the talks are excellent.

Rip off jobsworths
Terrible customer service. We wanted to visit as a group of 10 but they wouldn’t allow us and insisted we give 48hrs notice. I explained that we were leaving Dorset the following day but the jobsworth wouldn’t have it. Rip off to change a family with small kids £200 to visit as a group unless you give 48hrs notice. It makes no sense.
What a fabulous day out!
What a fabulous day out. Excellent from the start to the end. Quite apart from the exceptional exhibits, the WW1 trenches exhibition was startlingly good, very powerful and extremely well curated. There was a live demo with 4 vintage/tracked and wheeled vehicles on a mock battlefield, with pyrotechnics and a knowledgeable commentator. The shop had a wide range of clothing and souvenirs, and the restaurant had a good and well priced range of food. Plenty of parking, and the Museum well signposted. Everything was clean and well presented. Thoroughly recommended.
A fantastic place to visit
A fantastic place to visit, so much to see and do all day, even if you are not into tanks or military history its still well worth a visit.
We have visited the Tank Museum twice…
We have visited the Tank Museum twice over the last four years, and will go again when in the Area.
Its well laid out, gives you the complete history of the first Tank WW1 to the present day.
You will need be here a while as there are lots to see.
Tank museum
Came with my parents and children, whilst visiting winchester.
I actually really enjoyed this place, spent a good 4hours looking around reading artifacts and learning about WW1 and WW2. Some really interesting things to see and do. If it was closer I would definately visit again.
Great fun for all the family
Great fun for all the family. Live tanks demonstrations and good to learn about history.
As a former Chieftain driver
As a former Chieftain driver. RH . I popped in on my 60th birthday. I said nothing. The staff were absolutely amazing. Much respect. The past and the future are in safe hands. Every blessing
Great
Great day out for all with lots to keep us occupied. The stories of the people and machines they used are exceptionally interesting.
Easy to get to. Attentive staff and have renewed an annual pass.
I’d like to say thank you for an experience last year when one of my children got separated. Quick thinking and acting staff made what was a very stressful situation that little easier.
Thank you to you all.
Little story from the tank museum
I loved seeing the tanks but how ever little story a bit creepy may not believe me but me and my mum where looking at one of the tanks my mum said I feel sorry for the dolls for sitting in the tank all day must be boring as a joke but 5 minutes later she said she felt burning on her neck and 3 little marks what looked like scratch makes was on her neck I don't know if she did it her self or it was a ghost attached to the tanks that didn't like the joke but apart form that I enjoy the tank Museum
