I unsubscribed from Pros Closet well over two years ago. A few weeks ago I started getting bombarded by unsolicited emails from the company. They make it impossible to unsubscribe if you don't "sign in". I'll never buy a bike from this company if that's the way they want to run their business.

Awful experience. I sold a bike to them to sell on consignment. I thought (wrongly) they would send me a shipping box. They do not. I tried 3 local bike shops and none would give me a box (we recycle as soon as we get them was what I heard - no shave to store boxes, etc. Which I completely understand). My only option was to buy one from FedEx. It was clear it was going to be a tight fit and I probably needed a bigger box - but I couldn’t find one..
I packed the bike up as good as I could.
Unfortunately the cassette dug into the frame and it was damaged in transit.
The rep I heard from was very curt, not at all sympathetic and said they’d deduct $600 from their offer, and the consignment offer was no longer valid. My only option was to accept their cash price which was already much lower than consignment, mi us their arbitrary $600 deduction for damage. Very frustrating overall. I could accept that, or pay to have it returned to me. I ended up with a (60 days later) $1100 instead if the $2600 consignment price they had quoted me. I did not feel I had any other or better options. It seemed like the $2600 offer was a bat and switch all along. And it worked. I never would have gone down this road with them for the lowball cash price. But decided their $2600 consignment offer was acceptable. Would never do business with them again, and I now see why they went bankrupt once already.

Not a reliable company. They will lowball you to an absurd degree on everything you offer them. Their prices are through the roof, almost to the point where you’re better off buying a new bike. My biggest gripe is how massively inconsistent they are with offers. If you offer them the exact same bike twice, they’ll decline it once for some random reason. I tested that exact theory. First time they just hit me with a regular old lowball. Second time they denied it for major cosmetic damage. Same bike, same pictures used, everything.

Not worth submitting to them or buying from them. You’ll get more selling your bike privately, and you’ll probably find better shopping that way too.

I should add that the customer service is lacking. They will charge you as much as possible if you want to return something, they buy back program is a ridiculous scam, and if there’s a problem with your product when it arrives, you will be told to live with it. I purchased a shifter/brake that did not arrive as it was advertised. Was told it was my problem, and sent a link to the part I needed, that they happened to have. Laughable. They do their best to get as much money from you as possible, and take zero responsibility for anything.

Scam - the pro's closet is a bad company, be very careful giving them your expensive bike. I wanted to sell them my bike so I shipped it and agreed to the 70% rule instead of taking the $2200 cash offer. They listed the bike and then ended up trying to discount it down to the point where i would only get 1500. I told them that was not okay and to either give me the cash offer or send it back. They refused to send it back unless I paid $300. In short, they basically have stolen the bike and they have the power to sell your bike for next to nothing if they want.

I have purchased 3 bikes from online vendors. The TPC experience has been the worst experience by far. It started with their trade-in process; they offered $1,650.00 for my 2017 Synapse HI-MOD Di2 Hydro Disc.  It seemed fair, so I went through their process of shipping the bike to them, following their instructions.  shipped to me; it took 4 days to get to me. My purchased bike was packed beautifully, but that's as good as my experience with TPC got. They claim all their bikes are serviced by master bike mechanics. LOL. The SRAM AXS drive jumped in and out of gear between cogs 5 and 6; the hydro lines rattled so badly that it sounded like something was going to fall off the bike. I spent a few hours getting some foam behind the hydro lines and adjusting the shifting. TPC's response was that they can't control what happens during shipping. Again, LOL; it's wireless electronic shifting, and the only mechanical adjustments are high and low stops and the chain B adjustments. What the heck can shipping affect? Then, the salt in the wound: they refused to buy my trade-in and charged me $135.00 to send my bike back. What a shit show! I should have known better. Good lesson: don't waste your time with The Pro Closet; in my opinion, they have very unfair business processes and a bait-and-switch trade-in process.

I am writing to report multiple violations of Colorado state law and potentially fraudulent business practices by The Pro's Closet during their closure in October 2024.
Timeline of Events:

On September 19, 2024, I traded a bicycle for store credit at The Pro's Closet.
At the time of this transaction, the company failed to disclose their impending closure, violating the Colorado Gift Card Act (§ 6-1-722, C.R.S.), which requires disclosure of closure to gift card recipients within 30 days of closure.
The company subsequently announced an "End of Season" sale, which appears to have been a deliberate misrepresentation of their true financial situation.
After selling their premium inventory to cash buyers, they announced their insolvency and a "going out of business" sale, forcing store credit holders to make immediate purchases or forfeit their credit value.

Specific Violations:

Failure to disclose impending closure when accepting trade-in for store credit
Misrepresentation of business status through "End of Season" sale marketing
Product misrepresentation:

Advertised e-bike with 625wH battery but delivered with incompatible 500wH battery
Failed to include advertised charging equipment

Refusal to address product discrepancies, citing insolvency

Current Status:
The Pro's Closet has since reopened under new ownership, with previous management still in operational control. They continue to decline responsibility for these violations and have refused to rectify the situation.
This pattern of behavior suggests a calculated strategy to maximize profits while deliberately disadvantaging store credit holders. I am seeking appropriate resolution for these violations and misrepresentations.

Amount I was given on my trade in and customer service.

Bought a gravel bike - well over $3k. Seemed to ride ok, but over time there were a few non-critical issues. However months after the satisfaction period was over, I had to take it to my bike shop for tubeless repair and to my dismay I found it was sold as having tubeless tires, but one tire on it was not tubeless ready - hence why it spat out sealant non stop. They also found that the rear hub was for a mountain bike not gravel, and had been shimmed (technical stuff that I don't pretend to understand, but it was explained to me by a highly reputable bike repair shop). 6 weeks and several hundred dollars later, I have the right parts for this bike. Give Pros Closet quality checks, I don't know how this got through. I did not receive a quality bike matching the description but it was hard to tell in the first week of having it. Disappointed their image of being honest and "pros" didn't work out for me.

Update: TPC did reach out and make good on the additional costs I had to fix the bike which is appreciated.

Very welcoming environment with a personable and knowledgeable staff. Arielle, Mikayla and Ari were all genuinely interested in helping me find the right products to suit my needs. Highly recommended.

Bought a bike from you all. Paid first thing Monday morning. Was told it would ship out in 24 hours maybe sooner. Didn’t ship out until late Wednesday. Sat in a trailer on your lot for another day. When it finally started moving. I was told it would be delivered Friday. Signature required obviously. So I took off Friday to sign for it. Never came. Wasn’t notified until 10pm Friday it was not being delivered. Same thing Saturday. Says it was to be delivered by 2pm. Never was them it changed to by end of day. Finally arrived and I had left my wife home to sign for it. The driver came to the door. Said it was too big to unload and if we wanted it we would need to come get it off the truck. So my wife had to unload it and move it inside the house. I told you all this and was told you would refund the shipping since I had issues. I appreciated that. Well it’s been well over a week since that was supposed to happen. Never did. So I am a first time customer and will never shop here again and I will let my bike community know if my experience. Just so they are aware.
