Not the worst pool in the UK
I've been to Lings Forum Leisure Centre. I used the swimming facilities. It looks like it haven't been touched in the last 50 years. The paving between the car park and the centre are broken and dangerous. I told the staff that it's my first time there, all they asked is if I have a membership, I paid and haven't got anyone to guide me around. The lockers are in a shared place, there are separated areas for changing and showering, however there are no cubicles, and one has to leave swimsuit on while showering because both male and female staff works. The lockers only work with padlock which I didn't have. There are hair dryers. The swimming pool itself is large, there were 3 double lanes when I attended, which were comfortable for swimming, but quite busy. The floor and the pool tiles were dirty, or just old, not sure. The water was full of sand and hair since one doesn't need to use swimming cap. Which is odd, since the water isn't filtered. The water temp was perfect. There are no side drainers so the water is very wavy. People were nice. They deserve better, I was shocked that a successful business with 5 leisure centers in the area can neglect a place. It would be essential to have cubicle shower cabins for disabled or other way uncomfortable people, with access to the lockers for changing clothes, and the swimming pool could use a total refurbishment and a water cleaning system. There is no sauna.
