Unfortunately I don't have a lot of positives about this course. The course itself was a massive disappointment but the lack of communication following the course has somehow been worse. Both days our trainer turned up late (a lot of us had left very early in the morning to be there on time), when the trainer did arrive it was at least another 40 minutes before we started the content of the course which was mainly read from a screen.

The full morning was spent going over licensing, cross contamination etc (information which is obviously incredibly important) which could have easily been a small discussion and a shared document.
We were then sent for lunch which was an hour and a half long - most of us didn't know what to do with ourselves and were all hanging around waiting to get back into the classroom.

In the afternoon we were handed out needles, clamps and silicon body parts. The total demonstration of where to position most piercings was over in 15 minutes and then we had over an hour to 'practice' on these silicon parts. There was no discussion about suitable anatomy, angles at which piercings should be placed or how to measure where to place a piercing in order for it to be symmetrical with other piercings clients may have or want in future. There was also no jewelry sterilised at this point for us to practice handling the jewelry and securing the balls in place.
We were then told there would be 80 models turning up the next day for us to pierce. Someone did query how this was going to work as there were 8 of us on the course and the models were due in between 11-2. I did not expect that we would be left to do this without supervision. We were then sent home early.

On the Sunday the trainer was late again, and the set up in the morning was rushed and stressful. Before I knew it there were models turning up for piercings and we were told to 'go for it' - also being reassured by the trainer that nothing could go wrong except maybe some wonky piercings (I find this hard to believe as we were handling needles).
The trainer was not present in the room at all times, and often was not close by to intervene if anything did go wrong. A lot of us asked for help on placement and were again told to just 'go for it' as she stood 2-3 metres away.

She had mentioned that she had been out at a rave the night before, and had only been back in her hotel from being out for 20 minutes before she turned up late to the course hungover.

There were people turning up for piercings which we were expected to do without being shown anything - smiley piercings, nipple piercings etc. Our training didn't cover either of these piercings yet we were encouraged to do them with little assistance or support. The trainer was often downstairs vaping whilst piercings were being carried out.

Following the course, our trainer told us she would send over a collection of videos which would show us each individual piercing being carried out - a few of us were relying on these due to the lack of training on the course. Weeks passed and there had been little to no communication from the trainer and no videos sent. A lot of the people on the course had also signed up to receive a 'free piercing kit' - I'm unsure why this wasn't given to them on the day, and almost 6 weeks later they are still waiting on them to arrive. The trainer eventually replied saying that the videos were not part of the course content so we shouldn't be relying on them, and that her phone had been wiped so she wouldn't be able to send them. She also said that she was just the trainer so to email the academy about the piercing kits.

The email address that previously sent communication regarding the booking sent back an 'address not found' email upon enquiries regarding the piercing kits.

Very little communication from the trainer in the chat, the only time she replied quickly was to jump in and defend herself and the academy when some of the girls who were on the course said that they were told by numerous piercing studios that the certificate given was not valid and that they wouldn't employ someone following this course.

I can't fit all the details into this.. but basically all of us complained and were asked to sign a settlement agreement, where we would get our money back but had to take down any negative reviews and withdraw any complaints we had made about concerns over licensing. The other students signed the settlement agreement and their 'certificates' were withdrawn, being told they didn't count as it was obvious we hadn't been trained correctly on the day. I did not sign as the settlement agreement was like being blackmailed into being quiet about our experience. I am STILL awaiting a response for my complaint.

I have just finished a two week course in Manchester. The teachers Sandra and Leah were both amazing. Very different approaches by both but equally beneficial. I learnt a lot from both.
I was unsure initially about the course as there are so many places that will take your money but then not offer the goods. I am very pleased to say this company is not one of those and have delivered in spades.

My two weeks being here have been great and learned a lot. Everyone was friendly and the teachers were very helpful and professional.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course, it gave me the confidence I needed and the edge I was missing. I’d recommend to anyone in need of that final push to gain confidence I needed to pursue a tattooing career. My teachers were friendly and welcoming and made me feel super comfortable. Thanks guys

I had such a good time on this course, it is really intense and full on but so great if tattoo is what you want to do! Highly recommend both Sandra and Leah were super helpful, supportive and easy to get along with which made the full experience even better. Thank you for everything!

I just finished my tattoo course and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Jami created such a comfortable and engaging environment, I learned so much and enjoyed every part of it.

I would definitely recommend this course! Got great info on how to actually get into the industry and properly go about things. Our teacher was amazing and really made the content understandable and made asking for help or asking questions easy. I really enjoyed my time and felt really supported! The industry can seem really tough to crack, but this course really gives you insight and makes you feel confident in finding your way in.

I have just completed the Piercing course in Romford with Leah. I was Studio taught in piercing over 20 years ago and needed a refresher.
The class size was small, which was really good and Leah was down to earth and friendly. Everything we needed was included and they provided plenty of models for the practical part.
I would definitely recommend this course.

I’ve just finished my piercing course with Leah and she is by far one of the best, honest and constructive teachers i’ve ever had for any course before. i do plan on returning for extra experience and maybe even tattooing if it’s with leah! i would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is umming and arring about it. i definitely was but i was made to feel so welcome and i really did enjoy my time here. Loved this body piercing course! I done this in Dublin recently. The class size was perfect. Sandra was absolutely brilliant. She was really thorough in explaining everything. A fountain of knowledge in piercing and tattooing. Very down to earth and happy to answer any questions so I learned a lot in a very comfortable environment. Love how we also got proper hands on experience with models. The two days flew by. I would 100% recommend the Tattoo Academy to anyone interested. I'd go back and do it again 😊
