My husband and I rented for 2 years at Uncle Elephant and Castle (during covid) and we cannot thank Paul and Farid enough for their support and genuine care. The experience was so much better because of them!

Great place to live
My husband, our chihuahua and I lived for almost two years at Uncle E&C and we absolutely loved it! We had a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom flat on the 18 floor with a view on north east London. Around the corner we still can see The London Eye and Westminster. Right in front of us we have a beautiful view on St Paul’s Cathedral and great London city views. You can walk easily in 15 minutes to the London Eye, which is really great! We could watch the sunrise and the reflection of the sunset from the balcony every day. We had family and friends coming over and they were all excited about the apartment, amenities and the astonishing views. The flat is beautiful, very new, clean and was fitted out with top-of-the-line appliances and stylish colours and made day-to-day living a true pleasure. We also enjoyed the sky lounge space on the 45th floor - my husband especially as he is often working from home, and even we had friends and family coming over. The gym is also very nice. And I used a reserved parking spot in the garage underneath the building for my Mercedes convertible. All of the staff at the reception desk are amazing and it was a pleasure to come back home and see Farid or Paul smile and ask how our day was. The building management team is also terrific, especially Kevin who is always so kind and helpful! The staff is very responsive, dedicated, and friendly. There's also a park, supermarket and great playground just outside. We moved out because his employer has relocated my husband to the US, but we will surely miss London and Uncle with its amazing views and the nice feeling of being at home.
A Gem in London - UNCLE Southall
I’m currently living in UNCLE Southall, and it’s been great so far. I’ll list everything I love about this place, take what you wish from it.
As someone who works day and night from home, it’s a privilege to have 24 hour access to a gym without the need to step out of my building. As well as a co-working lounge which has become my haven for productivity. It’s spacious, quiet and perfect for my remote work.
Then we have the parcel room, which is a small detail that makes a massive difference. The convenience of having parcels securely delivered without having to be present is a relief. I can be in Space and still order what I need and know it’ll be delivered.
Lastly, we have the staff (hoping I spell their names correctly). Oshea, Ayana, Emal and Mike who have been nothing short of Amazing. They’re always there to help, smiling and going above and beyond to keep the living experience perfect.
Will definitely be extending my stay if I remain in London.

Hassle Free and Transparent Renting
If you are looking for an apartment in London and want to rent hassle free, look no further. I stayed at their property in Wembley for more than 6 months. The team is really professional and helpful.

A Great Place To Live!
Our son moved into UNCLE Stockwell as his first step towards living independently, having got a place at uni in Clapham but who suffers with autism and ADHD. The accommodation at UNCLE was perfect - modern, with all the essential amenities, but most importantly someone on site at all times, really caring and helpful staff and it felt really safe and secure. Duncan and Ruth are great and really care for the people who rent there, making it more like a supportive community and dealt with any issues and challenges promptly and with great sensitivity.
Excellent London Accommodation
UNCLE Stockwell has been my home for 9 months from October 2022 to June 2023. I cannot recommend the service provided by the UNCLE Stockwell team more highly. I have felt very well looked after by Ruth, Duncan and Paul. UNCLE Stockwell residents are very lucky to have Ruth and Duncan managing the building.
I absolutely LOVED my stay at Uncle…
I absolutely LOVED my stay at Uncle Stockwell. The entire team led by Ruth and Duncan have been so kind and helpful! The flat was spotless, designed to use every inch of space, and my view was unobstructed and lovely over Larkhall Park (I could even seen Big Ben!). The building was quiet and the amenities (gym, co-working space, pantry, etc) are excellent. Bus stop is a five minute walk and several Tube stations no more than 15 min walk away. Big grocery store at Nine Elms Tube station. Battersea Power Station also an easy 12 min walk away. Highly recommend and hope that I get back to Uncle Stockwell again! Oh, and special shout out to Paul for all of his help and laughs! I will miss my flat and the team immensely!
Uncle Stockwell
I lived here for a year and really enjoyed it. I also read every review possible beforehand and am here to give an honest opinion to help others make an informed decision.
Pros:
-The on-site management team are amazing and they sort everything out. My electric box stopped working on a Saturday night and they still came to fix it. All my post was signed for and securely stored in the post room, so even if I worked a full week in the office I could just pick everything up on Saturday morning. Communal areas/gym are spotless. I could not speak more highly of the team, especially Duncan, Paul, and Ruth.
- The interiors are great, and the furniture is good quality. I wish I could take the mattress to my next flat because I will miss it so much. Compared to other co-living places I visited, this building had by far the best interior and use of space. There is a LOT of storage space, so I never felt squished. The size of the rooms also means a little heating goes a long way. I used the gym on cold/rainy days and the equipment was excellent.
- The surrounding area is vibrant and wonderful. In the summer there is a lot of activity in the park. It's a beautiful, friendly place to read a book or have a picnic, or take a walk on your lunch break. Greenery surrounds the building and I was never bothered by traffic noise. I loved opening all my windows in the summer and feeling like I was outside whilst being comfortable on my bed.
- There are multiple locked doors to get through, and security cameras on every corner so I felt really safe, even after dark (it's a very safe area anyway).
- It's close to multiple useful bus stops, an overground station, and an underground station all within 10mins walk.
- The building organises a lot of events, and though I didn't make use of these it was nice to know they were available and that I had a community I could be part of. Communication from the building (fire detector inspections, etc.) was always clear and given well ahead of time.
Cons:
- The washing machines are expensive. I initially freaked out at having to pay 6.50 per cycle, but later came to understand that this was in fact cheaper than some laundromats, which made me feel better. They work, and there's one on every floor so once I got used to it it did not bother me so much.
- A lot of reviews wrote about the noise. For me, the experience really depends on your next-door neighbour. For the most part I found that I could not hear people upstairs or downstairs, but I could hear next door if they were shouting. That said, a friendly conversation about noise levels goes a long way.
All in all I had one of the best years of my life living here and getting to know the area, which I will greatly miss.

It's great to see Farid, Paul, Jedi, Elena, Newton, Welton and Kevin's familiar faces every day as come and go and they make this building more than just a rented accommodation.
Paul and Farid at the concierge built up a tremendous amount of knowledge about the affairs of the building as they have been here since the beginning, they always know what the best action is whatever situation we need to deal with. Jedi is also great, we had a pleasure to get to know her over time and glad to see her here more frequently.
I can't tell you how sad we were to see Kevin leave and then happy we were to see him to come back, he is one of the most amazing, humble and hard working person I know.
Also great to see Elena in the mornings keeping our common areas clean and tidy. She is always very friendly with us and always pets our dog when he approaches her with joy and excitement.
Shushu (our dog) is happy to meet Newton (our caretaker) again, even if only on weekends, when we meet him on our morning walks and always had a friendly exchange.
We left once after living here for two years than we had to move again and it was no question that we want to move back here. Now we have been back for over a year and a half and we noticed that since we moved back, we can see that some of the time there are temporary people from agencies, often just stepping in for one day or night, who often aren't able to help with the things that for the permanent stuff it's a breeze and the experience is not quite the same.
We are very sad Jam is no longer here, she was the best. I wish she stayed, she just brought in a great energy and her consistent focus on keeping the tenants satisfied was exceptional.
As a tenant, it makes a big difference to have a stable concierge and maintenance team, this makes the building a home for us.
Uncle Manchester
Loved staying at Uncle Manchester, the team there (Andrew and co) made everything super easy and were lovely during my stay there. Facilities are great with a gym, co-working space and yoga room!

I will give 5 stars to UNCLE mainly because of the
UNCLE team at Manchester( Andrew, Chon, Irene and Amanda). Andrew and the team are very professional and helpful. They take my concerns or issues seriously and try to help out the best they could. The team made my 1 year stay in Manchester very lovely.
The management takes care of my parcels. Made my life so easy.
There is gym at the 4th floor to use when the weather is too unfriendly to walk to a gym.
Other things to consider is the rent is fairly high, but given it is centrally located( near to Picadilly station) and its convenience you get what you pay.
Some units are facing the train tracks and I would suggest have an in person viewing if you are noise sensitive.
My renting process was smooth and done via virtual viewing as I am from Malaysia. With no prior credit history in the UK I had to pay advance rental fees(about 3 months). All this process are clear and negotiable with the team and I suggest communicate with them all your needs and concerns.
I would really like to thank Andrew and the team for being part of my wonderful Manchester experience.

Things we have had to deal with in the 1 year we have lived at Uncle Southall: the horrific smells in and outside the building (google southall stink). Not being able to open widows because of the smells during the hottest summer on record. The rubbish outside the building. The constant noise from airplanes, trains, cars honking. The flies. The black rug that sheds leaving your whole flat with black fluff everywhere. The tiny low sofa that will give you back pain that they won’t take back (edit: they did NOT try to source an alternative for us. We asked if we could swap it for a bigger one and they said NO). The internet (7 in 12 months, sometimes lasting 2-3 days), water and electricity outages. The gym that did not have ac during the hottest summer on record. The gym water tap that is always broken. The lack of just one decent cafe, a pub/ bar, a supermarket, a restaurant nearby. The nerve to charge people for coffee in the workspace area. The little crack den under the new bridge. Having to take stinky bin bags down the elevator. And if you live in apartment 1604A, you will hear and feel people on the treadmill. Staff isn’t helpful and you’ll need to push a lot to get things done. There’s no parking and don’t leave your car in the area, your windows will get smashed.

I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Paul x Farid at UNCLE Elephant & Castle. There have been and continue to be a number of issues in the building and they are the people who keep the boat floating and tenants loyal despite the problems and yet they hardly get any credit for it. They are really the people to make it happen. So thank you guys for making “Fawlty towers” a home. I hope you realise what a difference you make.

Uncle Manchester is the best!
Had the best experience at Uncle (Manchester)!!
Amazing location. The facilities inside the building such as co working space, gym, art studio, yoga room are great. The apartments can be a bit small but they are well equipped and super clean. If anything breaks or you need any assistance, the staff is amazing and the problem is resolved quickly. No worries in terms of parcels and deliveries, the staff will take it for you during work hours and will store it safely.
Uncle is pet friendly, which during research of locations to live that were pet friendly, some said they were except when we called them they said they actually weren’t. So Uncle was definitely a huge plus on that.
I think what made a huge difference was the staff, everyone super friendly, super welcoming, willing to help. Big thanks to Andrew for managing so well, always super friendly, super helpful, can’t say enough really.

Exceptional Team at Uncle Manchester
Uncle Manchester was our first rental in Manchester, and despite the popularity for spaces in and around the city, the team made it as easy as possible to apply and secure the apartment. The building is historic but the inside when we moved in was excellent- totally clean, furnished with tables, chairs, beds, microwave etc.
The building was really good for having so many features, they have a coworking space, gym, yoga studio, communal area. They will even sign for and receive post for you, all of the services Amazon, DPD, Yodel etc know what to do so you won't miss a delivery.
I have to be honest and say the pricing is a little high, but I can understand why, as it's a great city centre location and there are several full time staff for reception and maintenance. Outdoor parking is reasonable for £60 per month, but the extra monthly charge for pets does sting a little! This is offset by the lack of alternative pet friendly options, so overall it's a great option if you need to live in the centre.
The main plus for us was the staff- I have to give a special mention to Andrew the building manager, and Irene, Chon and Amanda on reception as it's so pleasant to have someone to have a quick chat with, either about something in the building or just for a catch up. Any queries or issues we had were resolved quickly, and it really made us feel safe and secure knowing the team are on hand for anything you need.
We can't speak highly enough about the team and will truly miss them as we leave the city centre.
ELEPHANT & CASTLE - Incompetent, Uncaring Staff
I have written a review previously but deleted it, as I thought I would give UNCLE a chance to fix some of the problems. On the 26th April, I met with the Vice President of the UK Portfolio. We had a comprehensive discussion about the problems with living here. Since then, nothing has improved and my concerns have not been addressed.
- UNCLE refuse to communicate with residents about when their windows are cleaned. They give us a window of time, but will not tell you which day the windows on your side of the building are cleaned.
Our windows were cleaned today (23rd May) but their only email communication was sent on 10th May. Imagine going 13 days not knowing whether or not you can open the curtains, windows or balcony doors. Today, I was very startled to discover people descending past my balcony. Luckily I was fully clothed!
UNCLE will have a response for this, as they are master deflectors of blame. They claim that due to weather conditions etc. they cannot specify which side of the building would be cleaned. I do not understand why, in the time it takes the cleaners to get up to the 45th floor, secure themselves in the crane and then descend, the UNCLE staff cannot write a simple email to people on this side of the building.
- It took 3 weeks for our dishwasher to be repaired. According to the initial engineer visit, the part required was easily sourced. It took 3 weeks solely because of the UNCLE staff's inability to communicate effectively.
I received an email, during working hours, stating that if I responded by 3pm that afternoon, we would be guaranteed a timeslot the next day. I am a working professional who does not check their personal emails during the work day.
When I spoke to UNCLE about this and said they should have called my phone, they claimed to not have my phone number on file. This is simply not true, as I get texts from the concierge all the time saying parcels have arrived.
Again, UNCLE had an excuse (always deflecting blame). They claim Concierge manage that themselves, but at no point in my 4 years here have I ever given my phone number to the concierge. It was clearly already on UNCLE's system somewhere.
In my line of work, if I discover that someone's phone number is either not on the system or incorrect, I would prioritise getting that contact number asap. UNCLE made no effort to do this. I had to follow up myself and share my number with them.
- The dishwasher was eventually repaired (3 weeks later), however, it was placed incorrectly back in its space and now sticks out. The door does not close properly. It needs to be slammed. UNCLE are aware of this and have still not returned to fix it.
- Lots of rumours circulating around the building that the building manager has left and that we have a new one. The VP also told me that our current building manager was leaving. However, this has not been communicated to residents. I asked the VP if this could happen almost a month ago. It still has not.
- We have no idea who anyone is, as staff do not wear identification or uniforms. I suggested a 'Who's Who' display, but this has not been actioned either. UNCLE claim to be friendly and helpful, but how can you have a relationship with them if you don't even know who you're talking to?
- Residents were told to be mindful of neighbours and not make play music on balconies after 10pm. Considering the balconies are not soundproof, why would you tell people that they can play music at any time on their balcony?
- When we moved here, residents were told 'no dogs'. Sometime later, 'small dogs' were allowed. There are many large dogs in the building. Owners show little to no consideration for the fact that some people do not like or are allergic.
There have been countless issues. We have stayed this long as we really like the area and the building itself is quite beautiful. Shame about the incompetent, uncaring and unsympathetic staff.
