Usdaw area rep (Cheshire) attended our induction at Tesco to try and get us to sign up to the union. The woman was extremely rude and pushy. When we all introduced ourselves I said I was working part-time and had 2 children, to which she replied “so you’re a single mum on benefits then” and I was literally left speechless. I’m not, but even if I was what business is that of hers anyway? I’m in my 30’s and I’ve never met someone so arrogant. At the end of the meeting when I said I wouldn’t be signing up, she became incredibly hostile, standing over me saying i’ll regret it and I’m not thinking about my family! Very bizarre behaviour. I did feed this back to the manager but as always nothing ever comes of these things. Gosh I can only imagine what they’re like if you ever actually needed to use their service. Maybe improving training on your staffs people skills would be a start!

Tried to get some advice and they took ages to get back to me I waited all day for a call and was called at 7pm I was in the shower and had to call back to arrange another call and I waited and waited and again called late in the day people have things to do and don’t always have signals when they are out so I had to wait at home for them to call

Clearly in cahoots with the retail companies someone's taking back pocket payment bribes clearly in this company, they let my company take workers bonuses, even Christmas parties, now allowing them to overwork staff by letting them train people on 4 departments. Wtf! But yeah the ceo whose paid 2 mill a year just got 4 mill bonus how is that fair.

Most amazing fraud scheme I ever seen. They do not provide any support or services. If you became usdaw member, please, cancel and find more trustful and responsible union. Save your many! Save your job! Cancel usdaw membership! Don't be idiot as me!

I would give them no stars but it didn’t give me that option. Absolutely awful had a call back from a representative for some advice no empathy shown, wasn’t interested in what I had to say at all.

Member since 2018. Their representatives possibly get kickbacks from the employer so when they come for the meeting they just sit there like they are deaf or dumb. But get paid for the meeting thay they attend. Got an invite for a disciplinary. Supposed to happen on 11th October. Union reps don't work Saturdays and Sundays. When you call the union office they say the area organiser will call u back in 24 hours. One is already stressed about the disciplinary meeting to add salt to injury one has to wait another 24 hours to hear back from the Union. Why am I paying £12.94 if they cant assit me. Why cant they have a representative on standby so that atleast someone is available to attend the meeting and SPEAK UP FOR THE EMPLOYEE. DO NOT JOIN IT IS WASTE OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. Advised all family and friends to terminate the membership.

They don't represent a worker's rights or deal with any health and safety in the workplace.
After a complaint, I was told it was my own fault for electing the union rep.
I was told that Evri could hold month's pay, all because I had failed to tell them why I had missed one work day without notifying them.
This list goes on. They just won't believe or listen to you. Don't join and pay the subs!

This union must be the worse on planet I have been working for Poundland many years and with ups and downs with there sale they have not once been in or kept us Informed there ok taking money every month but get nothin for it shame on you

I wish we had zero * to give to his union fraud company.
My partner and I have been paying them for more than 6 years and when we asked USDAw to help, we found out they work for employers, not employees. This union is a great example of micromanaging. The Warrington office is full of rude and unprofessional staff. The area organiser of Cheshire is a joke in his profession. This union needs to shut down and with all the experienced people have need to go public and report. They are taking money for helping people not making more trouble for them. PLEASE IF ANYONE HAVE ANY MEMBERSHIP WITH THEM CANCEL IT NOW BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THIS COMMENT NOW BUT WHEN YOU NEED USDAW & THEY TREAT YOU HOW THEY TREAT THE REST OF US THEN YOU WILL.

Bad experience member for 3years they no help you with nothing

Don't ever use the legal team they are shockingly bad, they use a balance of probability on if they win your case of they think it's not in their interests they will reject it.

My experience with this union has been nothing short of terrible. When I reached out for help, the representative I spoke to—Liam—was dismissive, constantly interrupted me while I was explaining my situation, and tried to claim my issue occurred before I joined the union. This was completely false, as the issue happened just two days prior, and I’ve been a member longer than that. He wasn’t interested in listening to the backstory or helping.

When I called customer service afterwards, I was told that if the rep doesn’t want to assist me, there’s nothing they can do. So why am I being charged? What exactly am I paying for if no one is willing to listen or offer even basic advice?

This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues either. I was a member back in 2019 for 2 years and paid for the service without ever receiving any support. I rejoined two months ago, and now I see nothing has changed—just more fees for zero service.

Rude, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. It feels like a money-grabbing scheme rather than a union that actually supports its members. The representative should learn to actually listen before making assumptions and shutting people down.

Absolutely disgusted. I regret not checking reviews beforehand. Don’t waste your money.

It’s good to see all the top people on a jolly up in Blackpool it’s a shame they didn’t spend a bit more time on our pay rise and Sunday premium and they don’t seem a bit embarrassed

Asked for a rep for a investigation and was told they don't attend investigations as that is just someone finding out facts. Now my mental health isn't the best I expected more from a service that claims to help there members. They only step in at the last minute and even then they are terrible. Bad advice, feel let down and fobbed off by them. My store has no rep as nobody wants represent the union in store so I also have zero access to a local rep. Terrible union. Don't join. Lovely members on the phone but that's about it. They don't want to actually do anything when it comes to sending a rep to my area. It's a major inconvenience it seems.

Called for help main office was nice and friendly and let me know that my local rep would give me a call later on. From the second the call started he was agitated giving me little time to locate pictures, screenshots and emails. I had saved causing me to miss information or him to misunderstand. He then accused me of lying and began interrogating me. I called for help against my company. I would rather of had help from my company against them.

Dont join, no use. Had a job, applied for transfer, local manager played games with application. Contacted union, someone called back, said they would speak to someone and get back to me. Nothing. Clear examples of manager at local store playing loose with rules, and effectively barring me from any position, proof not looked at, I've been ignored, probably because I can't afford next month's fees. Save your money, or better yet, get private legal insurance.

Questioned why I had joined after I requested a union rep for an investigation meeting. I asked for a specific rep due to the close relationship our I store rep has with the leadership team. I was refused this rep and was told it’s only an investigation meeting you’ll only be asked questions. Waste of time joining and no help whatsoever. Nick Gerrard area organiser really lets the company down. Will be cancelling my membership as these are no help in a crisis.

This "company" contacted me out of the blue claiming my contributions had stopped on retirement and supplied a direct debit form with no indication of payment costs. I have never had anything to do with them and it smells like a scam
