Yet another con!
I saw an advert online, one of those that pop up whilst playing a game on Facebook, if I recall. Just what I wanted, a walking stick with folding seat. I had seen before and ordered, only to be conned and sent an ordinary walking stick with no seat. However that was another company, so I thought, great, I'll order. More fool me. I should've learnt from previous mistake.
Order goes through, eventually item arrives, but not what I ordered. I query and ask for a refund as instead of a walking stick with folding seat, I receive a tacky necklace which is all in knots and you can't even unravel it. Not that I wanted it anyway. It was like something out of a cheap cracker.
I complained as mentioned, they reply back saying sorry and offer a 5% refund as the item I wanted was out of stock. I rejected offer so then they offered 10%, keep item and sell on ebay or give to a friend. I told them NO, I do not accept this and that I would take the matter further through my bank. That was the last I heard from them. I don't know if I was dealing with a third party that dispatched the item or Velveteclipse, though I copied them in on my email, but the emails appeared different.
Having then gone into online banking, I found a section where you can raise a dispute which I did, and I must say , having put everything down in writing, I then received communication and a full refund via my bank. I was impressed with this service. I have ordered a few items over the years via various adverts and been conned three times. In future I will steer clear of foreign websites . It's a shame these fraudulent companies are allowed to get their adverts onto social media platforms.
