St Lawrence small boat cruise
The food was good, the accommodations were fine, the crafts were entertaining and the staff was very helpful. We had interesting local guides at the different stops and the Oystering excursion was fascinating and fun. The extra day in Halifax was great as was the hop on hop off. During the cruise we met some very nice individuals and they had many games and puzzles, even Mahjongg tiles with four cards.
That being said, they canceled one stop and an excursion I was looking forward to doing. They took us on a cruise up the fiord but really just another sea day.
There were three other sea days, which I had expected, but the activities on the ship those days were not enough to fill the day. In addition the included excursion to the hydro plant was very disappointing. It was a bus ride to the plant conference room where a nice guy gave us a slide show and talk. Some of the small villages were underwhelming as many of the shops had closed.

The staff and surrounding ambiance were incredible. I got sick on the cruise so my opinions are influenced by that. My only criticism was the quality of some of the options of food. The main courses were done beautifully. However the alternative options were overdone and dry.
I loved the small ship experience
I loved the small ship experience. The food quality was really good, the friendliness of the staff, the itinerary. Hey, the rooms were small but it was an older ship and I liked the quaintness of it
This is a trip that not many people…
This is a trip that not many people know about. We traveled through the five Great Lakes and stopped at many cities along the way. The captain, the crew, all the staff were great. The food was good. I didn't love every port we were in but each one had something very unique to offer.
Food and staff 5 star
Food and staff 5 star. We know when we booked that room was tiny. With my husband’s wallet, it got even smaller. To be fair, we were warned.
The crew and the food were great
The crew and the food were great.
The excursions were short and weak.
The tours on each location were informative and pleasant.he itinerary
The itinerary, the staff And just a complete pleasant experience.
The free excursions were too short
The free excursions were too short. The paid excursions were boring and too long. The Tuscan Grill was not romantic when having to eat with four strangers. The tea did not have a single vegan sandwich. Sean of the house band should not be permitted to sing. I missed yoga because it was scheduled at the same time as the veterans get together. My $500 credit was not applied until the omission was pointed out. The Falls was so crowded i couldn’t turn around or hold on to anything but my partner. The owner talking about himself not stop was boring. There was not a single book available to read that was not nonfiction, history or geographical.
The crew was wonderful. So were the massage, facial, pedicure and manicure by Sheetal. So was Marvin who when i had to leave dinner, brought my dinner warm with wine later. Jerick and Sid were exceptionally wonderful.
The entire staff and crew were outstanding, extremely gracious and hospitable.
The entire staff and crew were delightful, caring and a joy to be around. The food was terrific and the ship was very comfortable.
The food was good.
The staff and food were outstanding
The staff and food were outstanding. The accommodations were a little tight but adequate.
Service
Service, food, and entertainment were 5 star. However, We were disappointed two port calls (Saguenay and Portsmouth) were cancelled resulting in too much time on ship.
Mainly the staff!
Mainly the staff!! Outstanding! The food was top notch too!!
One thing we wished is that you had better TV service, many more channels, especially sports. There was a big golf tournament going on that we couldn’t get, and lots of football games. When you’re on a trip for that long, you should have better TV service, even your staff mentioned they wished you did too. We were in room 4016, and we had a terrible noise that kept us from sleeping very well, and everyone was very generous to try to figure it out, but they never did. I would recommend blocking that room off. We’ve told other people that we’ve told about the cruise that do not book that room.
Exemplary food and service
The food and service were extraordinary. The staff couldn't have been more attentive.
Underwhelmed
I was underwhelmed by the Quebec City to Portland cruise. The crew was outstanding; great service and kindness. But I didn’t feel the port excursions and on-board experiences aligned with the cost of the cruise. We had to skip one port for an unknown reason so ended up with four sea days out of a ten (really nine) day trip. We chose a smaller ship on purpose but the sea days were boring with limited activities. Fine if you wanted to relax all day, but dull otherwise. I believe it serves as a transition cruise for the end of the summer season and felt like the company wasn’t totally sure what to along this route. Charlottetown and Halifax were enjoyable, as well as the museum in Gaspè. I would not recommend.
The cruise was good
The cruise was good. It was our fault that we missed to paid for excursions. One was because of time change mistake. We were disappointed with the club dinner (4th floor). Nothing that was promised happened: not hot tile used, no personal chief made dessert in front of us, and no officer greetings. Just a dinner at the Grill, nothing special. I can't remember more things, but you can read the letter we were sent.
Quebec to Portland
We did the Quebec to Portland cruise from October 7-17, 2026. The biggest disappointment was there was no naturalist on board. There was no commentary on what we were seeing and experiencing. The Cruise Director substituted with informative lectures but unrelated to our cruise…like a lecture on Prohibition. Very disappointing! The cruise staff was very professional. The services on board including housekeeping and food was excellent. Also, we had a very rough passage from Halifax to Portland. The ship does not have stabilizers. The ship is 25 years old and only has ballasts which makes open and rough sea uncomfortable. The ship has been remodeled and other than very small state rooms is comfortable with lots of common space including a large lounge and tavern.
