Booked Club room for one night initially...although said up to one hour earlier booking in...tried but instantly told No..changed to 2 nights..got there the male receptionist didn't even raise his head or acknowledge us..
Room.ok.but "view " was a brick wall..went out to celebrate friends birthday . Following morning left refresh our room sign out and went for breakfast which was OK. When out and returned to room in the afternoon 2ish. Room not refreshed!...spoke to same man on receptionist after he ignored me again ..asked about room..told then don't do them unless you leave out sign DOH!
I asked as we were staying 2 nights shouldn't it have refill of water coffee and towels anyway No was the reply!..
After explaining if I booked 2 single nights I would.. he said he would send house keeping...
So we meet family for food in the hotel bar and grill..no staff about to ask..but girl at bar said sit anywhere...food ok.
Staff unatentive..went back to room ..towel thrown on the bed and sign thrown.across the floor.
Following morning when for breakfast again OK.. back to room to pack..got in lift and when down doors wouldn't open waited..waited and nothing..press alarm button and it rang a telephone number..no answer...tried again..no answer my wife spent 8 months in hospital last year and suffered stress related issues..so was getting into a panic....last resort tried to get hotel phone number but don't have one!.. tried alarm
Again ..no answer!... push button of doors open nothing..same for first floor nothing..2nd floor and up we went.doors opened ..problem solved..pressed ground ..down we went ..stuck again doors wouldn't open first floor nothing..2 floor up we went doors 0pened...no more..my wife is disabled and we had to go down two flights of stairs...
When we got to receptionist female saw my wife was crying and we told her the lift problem
She was very unhappy that the lift alarm wasn't answered.
And she helped us as best she could..I said I wanted to make a complaint and told her everything that had or hadn't gone on...she promised a senior manager would contact me today...Nothing...tried to contact complaint department at Village Head office..told they don't have one!...
Really they don't have a complaint process.
You can't phone the hotel.
I will not let this go..
Today I phoned the health and safety executive...who should investigate the lift breach
And hopefully this will prompt them to make contact with me.
As originally promised.
Amazing hotel village hotel …
My girlfriend and I stayed at village hotel in Farnborough, it was amazing, the staff were very helpful , the room was great, very clean and tidy, room service was good , the food was fabulous, great breakfast selection and all staff were kind and considerate and nothing was a problem for them and all very helpful
Would 100% stay here again
Wendy the manager was very very helpful, went out of her way to help and made the stay amazing
Thank you village hotel
I do not have a contract with them and I have been a member of Village Gym Watford for over three years. They are now saying I must give three months notice, even though I have explained in multiple emails that I am facing financial difficulties
My experience with this hotel has been extremely disappointing.
I have repeatedly informed them more than 10 times that I am experiencing serious financial hardship and cannot continue my membership. Instead of showing any understanding or attempting to resolve the issue, they have continued to send emails and payment demands, causing me unnecessary stress and anxiety.
What is most frustrating is that they appear to ignore everything I write. I have asked them multiple times to close my account, yet they continue contacting me as if my emails do not exist. This is not how customers should be treated.
In my opinion, their customer service is poor, unhelpful, and completely lacking in compassion. A company should know the difference between following up on an account and repeatedly harassing someone who has clearly explained their circumstances.
I expected professionalism and respect, but unfortunately I experienced the opposite. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel or its membership services to anyone. I hope they improve the way they treat customers who are facing genuine financial difficulties.
Birmingham Walsall pub AVOID!
We visited this Birmingham Walsall hotel while passing through and decided to stop for a drink and something to eat. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service from some members of staff.
The young lady working at the bar, who had fake looking long black ponytail, was extremely rude and appeared far more interested in her mobile phone than serving customers. We were left waiting to be served, and she also gave me several uncomfortable stares while my partner and I were eating. This made both of us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
We also noticed a man who appeared to be in his late thirties, wearing a white top with a blue V, walking around looking very disinterested. His attitude did not make the atmosphere any more welcoming.
On a positive note, the young man wearing a blue T-shirt with a white V was very polite and helpful . He was a credit to the hotel and was the one member of staff who made us feel welcomed.
It’s disappointing, as the hotel itself seemed pleasant, but the attitude of some staff really affected our visit. And I am sure the village would not like their reputation ruined just because of the actions of two of their employees. possible retaining needed? As better customer service would make a big difference.
Village hotel Manchester Ashton
Village hotel Manchester Ashton, I train here regularly and I feel I should write to let people know the staff are very nice and friendly and I have to give a special mention to Adam who works on poolside who goes above and beyond to help people.
I stayed for one night at Village Hotel…
I stayed for one night at Village Hotel Leeds North on 28-29th June 2026. Made the first mistake by using Booking.com. Second mistake was to assume that when I registered my car number plate at reception it meant the all-night Parking fee had been paid. At no point during my check-in at a chaotic reception (or my subsequent 24 hrs stay) was I informed that because I'd used booking.com, it didn't include the 5.00 pound Parking charge. Subsequently, 10 days later I recieved a 60 pound Parking fine from the thieving "GroupNexus" group. After contacting, customer services at Village Group I was informed that 'yes' my car had been duly registered with the Hotel, but that counts for nothing. It was all my 'mistake' and that there was nothing they could do. It was then up to me to malke a formal appeal with Nexus, which unsuprisingly was rejected.
Since this shoddy experience to extort as much money out of people as possible, I have warned as many of my family and friends never to use Village Hotels. I have since noted that other patrons of Village Hotels have had similar poor experiences (see similar Trustpilot reviews).
In addition to the parking charge I also found that on a Monday morning that breakfast was been cleared away before 9am and there was no air-con in any rooms on one of the hottest days of the year.
I stayed at the Village Hotel Leeds…
I stayed at the Village Hotel Leeds north on 02/7/26 .
The customer service levels at this hotel are very, very poor and simply awful. The check in area is unmanned and the self check in system is totally confusing . There is someone behind a one way glass door but she only comes out to help if you knock loudly on the door and is very disinterested . The rooms are a little dated even though it’s had a lick of paint. Breakfast is served in the public bar area and finishes at the ridiculously early time of 9am! However , if you’re not there by 8:30 you’ll be lucky to get any food! I arrived at 8:50 and there was very little food available . One of the other guests informed me they started clearing the food away at 8:30! When I enquired to one of the waitresses she was completely off hand and told me “well we do finish at 9”. She then went chatting and laughing at the bar with her 2 other colleagues for the rest of the time . The three of them ignored us and watched myself and others scratching around for any bits of food that remained .
I have to exempt their slightly older colleague Kayleigh who was friendly and tried to help. She noticed what was happening and spoke to us. She then went into the kitchen to bring back some eggs and baked beans.
I noticed when we arrived the previous day the bar area was very busy. It seems therefore that this hotel prioritises the bar opening to the public as soon as possible after breakfast so they can maximise their profits.
Any guests, who they have obviously already taken money off, are therefore in the way of the staff getting the bar area ready for mid morning trade. Will not be back to this awful place !
Great Staff Great Hotel make guest welcome
So myself sister and her son stayed in Village Hotel Newcastle my Nephew is big fan of Village hotel and Hayle staff member on duty made him very happy by taking time out to talk to him about Village Hotel and finding him Village T shirt overall Hotel was great and very enjoyable and friendly staff

Misleading Expectations and Poor Communication No Air Conditioning During Hot Weather – Guests Should Be Informed
I recently booked a one-night stay at Village Hotel Dudley. I naturally assumed the hotel would have air conditioning, as I have never stayed in a hotel before that did not provide it. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
When I first raised the issue with staff, I was told that air conditioning was only available on certain floors. Later, this explanation changed, and I was informed that the air conditioning system was being refurbished and that there was currently no air conditioning available in the building. This was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, should have been clearly communicated during the booking process.
Despite making a complaint, no compensation or goodwill gesture was offered. I feel that if a key facility such as air conditioning is unavailable due to refurbishment, maintenance, or a fault, guests should be informed before arrival, especially during periods of hot weather.
What made this even more frustrating was that the hotel called before our stay to offer additional services, such as booking a table for lunch, yet no mention was made of the lack of air conditioning. Had I known beforehand, I may have reconsidered my booking.
We were provided with two table fans for two rooms shared by four people, which was not sufficient given the temperature. When I asked whether any additional fans were available, I was told to check back later in the day, despite needing them at that time.
I had always considered Village Hotel Dudley to be one of the better hotels in the area, which made this experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, my first stay fell well below expectations.
For anyone planning to stay here in the future, I would recommend asking detailed questions about the facilities available and whether they are fully operational before booking. Important information regarding unavailable amenities should be communicated clearly to guests so they can make an informed decision.
The Village Hotel in Basingstoke is so…
The Village Hotel in Basingstoke is so awful
So basic but not cheap and has to be the worst hotel I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay in for a start it’s a long up hill walk f try on the station,
The rooms are Travelodge standard but worst of all is the staff -the female that checked me was so rude and couldn’t less about anything and should be fired!
(Tj) was great help would recommend

Id say 2-3 star hotel
Welcomed to my room with toilet seat covered in urine and chewing gum on the desk.
Don’t think the room was cleaned tbh.
Whilst the staff member in reception was very friendly and welcoming, it was just a quick sorry and here’s another room.
If im paying £135 per night, id expect much better service and majority if not part refund or free stay for few days, I almost sat in someone elses urine!
Further, my booking was a club room, the replacement room was a downgrade.
Finally, I have stayed at this hotel several times and not so sure with regards to the kind of guest they have here, if not all, then majority of the rooms, the sofa and side panel/frame of the bed is covered in semen!
Village Hotel Watford
Village Hotel Watford , staff at check in made the process extremely easy.
Room and facilities in the room were very good and very clean, bed was very comfortable.
A/C in bedroom was very quiet and very cold aiding a great nights sleep during our current heatwave and working in central London on a late shift.
Residents bar staff were extremely polite and were happy to serve our group just as the bar was shutting which helped quench our thirsts after difficult working conditions due to the weather especially Shaun behind the bar who was very helpful and friendly.

Took money off my credit card when they should not have, said pending transaction would disappear, phoned back twice, now told money will be refunded in 5 to 8 working days!! They should never have taken this and did not respond to my e-mails!!!!
Awful customer service
We never actually stayed there but I think I need to explain the kind of customer service they give. Me and my husband arrived home from holiday about 12am. Unfortunately our door key broke and we could not get in. We were unable to get a spare key until the next day. This hotel is literally a 10 min drive from our house. I couldn't book a room online as I assume it was past end of day and I could no longer select the date. So we grabbed an Uber to the hotel.
A gentleman greeted us but as soon as we mentioned no reservation. He completely changed his attitude. It was now after 1am and I was extremely tired, I am 54 with hip issues. My husband explained our dilemma and he was not interested. He huffed and puffed and said there was nothing and dismissed us. My husband asked if we could sit for ten mins just to look at the other hotels. He was extremely blustered and said no he was cleaning up and basically wanted us out. I was feeling very upset at this point. He did say there was a travel lodge nearby but never offered to help us contact them or even suggest helping us ring them. It was utterly disgusting and I am shocked by his lack of empathy. I do hope you're other staff have more empathetic. It was after 2am when luckily we found the travel lodge and got sorted and they were utterly amazing.
Very noisy
Very noisy, bass guitar playing guitar noise early evening ? Not sure if it was from a neighbouring room or from the bar area. Very helpful staff, in particular Toby, helped us to check in and service at the bar from him was very good
Guest fined at hotel in Cardiff
Fined for parking despite filling in their forms. Impossible to contact anyone to get this resolved. Eventually wrote to MD who completely ignored me. Will never ever use Village hotel as a guest or conference organiser again…
Perfect venue for a very special family celebration
We hosted our daughter's weaning ceremony at Village Hotel Newcastle on 13 June 2026, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The staffs were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the occasion feel special - nothing was too much trouble. The facilities were well-suited to a family celebration of this nature, with ample space, excellent catering, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout.
From the initial booking through to the day itself, the team were professional and accommodating. Our guests, spanning multiple generations and travelling from various parts of the country, were unanimous in their praise. It made a deeply meaningful cultural milestone feel truly memorable.
Highly recommended for anyone planning a family event or celebration. We will not hesitate to return.
Second Stay This Year
I enjoy The Village Hotel, Blackpool very much and this is my second visit this year and about my 10th overall. It has really got its act together over the past year and a staycation here is both enjoyable and relaxing. Village hotels bring out offers from time to time and it is a good idea to sign up for newsletter. There are some good bargains available.
The hotel is a few miles outside Blackpool and close to the zoo. It is set in acres of grounds that form a golf course. The rooms are respectable in size and most have been refurbished. I was given room 330 this time and it was pleasant. The window opens and there is a fan provided to get the air circulating. The best feature was the bed, which was incredibly comfortable with the softest thick duvet. I particularly liked the very thick mattress topper, which was the deepest and thickest I have ever experienced and I was so very comfortable.
A great feature continues to be the spa and they really have got the right balance with the temperature of the pool and the hot tub. The staff in the spa is young and this brings a buzz to the place. I was particularly impressed by the temperature of the outdoor pool, which was superb on a cool but sunny July afternoon.
The members of the bar staff were efficient and managed the footfall well. You can also eat in the bar restaurant. The breakfast was also very good, with a generous range of items available. The food quality was high and the restaurant operates until 10:30 at weekends. Perhaps the one area that would benefit from attention is the fact that guests were left to fend for themselves after giving their room number. I feel they should be seated and it would be helpful to have the locations and process explained to these perhaps visiting for the first time.
The one thing that needs to change is the way late checkouts are communicated to the cleaning staff. I had a 13:00 check out yet a staff member walked straight into the room at 12:20 without knocking. It appears they had not been made aware that I wasn't due to leave until 13:00.
The Village Hotel, Blackpool is an upper 3* hotel and generally delivers to a high standard in most areas. This reviewer has become quite a fan over the years due to the location, the ambiance and the value.
