This site offers the user to get his/her suspicious files scanned online for viruses and malware. All you have to do is to upload your file and get it scanned. It has a user friendly interface which allows the user to get his/her job done quickly and precisely.

Virus total c' est de la connasserie pure et simple. C' est bien simple pour s' en rendre compte tapez l ' url " palackrazotubas.com ". Le résultat est le même pour tous les tests d' antivirus; " clean ". Or ce nom de domaine n' existe pas. Aucun site n' y est rattaché. No comment.

This is a legit scan site. It uses up to 70 engines to detect a file. People who says it's a fake scan because it showed a few detections, however this is called a "false positive". This is common in people who create games, etc. Been running a lot of files through the site on a VM (Virtual-Machine). Tip: If you want to run viruses, then pls use a VM, and not your main computer/host. I've done that mistake, and let's just say that a ransomware is bad, Really bad.

i use this on the daily before downloading things but just recently i ran a download link thru it and it said it was safe so i downloaded it and ended up being a virus smh

Huge problems:

1) Scanning behaviour, for many engines, is different compared to the desktop of the standard user.

2) It Includes ridiculous AVs that shouldn't be considered at all, because they marks almost anything as bad just because their goal is to appear, otherwise such ridiculous AVs would never be noticed by anyone.

3) This way it happens that VirusTotal, if used by a normal users (and not by a developer or IT people), is a problem because 3 bad results from unknown AV are enough to scared the standard user.

So this is a damage against zillions of developers and software houses.

VirusTotal keeps having in list these ridiculous AVs just to sport a big number and for this reason, for me 1 star it's even too much: should be a negative number since it's a damage to developers.

Je suis très satisfait des service de virustotal, cela permet d'avoir une analyse de plusieurs antivirus en meme temp. Ceux qui renforce d’autant plus la sécurité. J'ai par ailleur eu l'occasion de tester l'api proposer pour crée un rescu disk, l'api est très puissant et nous offre beaucoup d'avantage.

Great checker for all websites and files you may have and want them to be checked for some viruses with the help of many many tools out there entirely. I do hope we can make something to add to that in future, like more functions.

This site is actually good for web malware scanning.
I use this when I think a website is malware infected and it is very reliable cause it uses different virus scanning engine to make a comparison on what they detected on a site!
There are over 30+ virus engine on there including virustotal itself, which good for making trust.
The only downside is that they don't heavily moderate the community that much making some misleading comments to go through.

I actually have an anti-virus software in my computer, but sometimes my anti-virus can't be too sure, so I use Virustotal as a backup. I really think it is reliable.

easy to use site and one I use on a regular basis. Website is well presented and although there can be a bit of a delay in getting the result it generally works well.
