Was made to feel really welcome and at ease. Everything was explained before a during our scan with lots of detail on how baby was developing and what to expect. Would definitely return and recommend to others

Yesterday I attended the Widnes Clinic…

Yesterday I attended the Widnes Clinic for a gender scan. The clinic is clean and clinical while also being welcoming. On arrival the process was explained to me and any questions I had answered. The lady who performed my scan was very experienced and thorough with the well-being check. We found out we’re having a boy and she made sure to show us from different angles to confirm there wasn’t any doubts. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Your Baby Scan and would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking to go for private scans. Thankyou again.

I attended an early reassurance scan on…

I attended an early reassurance scan on 10th March.

Unfortunately, my pregnancy looked like it could end in a miscarriage. I hadn’t had any bleeding or cramps so this was a shock and I was very confused.

The experience with the sonographer was nothing short of traumatic. She did little explaining about what was actually happening and just kept repeating ‘it’s not a healthy pregnancy’ with little emotion or understanding- perhaps some sensitivity training would be worthwhile here!

The only saving grace was the women on reception was a tad more sympathetic and asked if I had any questions. Although she too gave me little direction.

Im actually shocked - I’m sure this happens a lot and I feel there should be a better system in place for women going through this awful time.

They did say I can go back in a week for a follow up appointment, but there’s no way I’m going back after that experience.

Good morning Hayley, thank you for your feedback and review.

I would like to assure you that all of our staff receive both formal training (including from SANDs) and on the job training in handling difficult and sensitive situations.

When looking into what happened I was met with notes and an account from the team in the clinic during your visit that your behaviour was abrupt from the point of entering the clinic including the clinic which included refusing to complete your consent form initially.

When the scan had finished both of our staff in clinic tell me you were dismissive and did not want to listen to what they were trying to explain to you (both in the room and outside). This included leaving the scan room before the Sonographer had finished. Our systems in clinic have a digital mechanism that the Sonographer can notify the reception of any referral that is required once she has finished explaining, so that they are prepared to support you in the best way possible (a mechanism no other clinic has, and was put in place to provide better support when patients leave the room), and in our Widnes clinic specifically the Sonographer would leave the room before you to ensure there is a suitable private space for you. As you weren’t willing to allow the Sonographer to finish, the receptionist was surprised with you coming out of the room first. Whilst it may have come across insensitive of the receptionist asking if everything was ok, it was because our processes hadn’t been given the chance to complete as normal and therefore she hadn’t been notified of the need for referral and the Sonographer hadn’t come out of the room first.

I apologise if you found the information that we did manage to provide or that you interpreted to be unclear. Unfortunately we aren’t allowed to diagnose conditions as we do not employ any doctors at our clinics. The place for a diagnosis to take place is at the hospital where doctors are available to review any findings and diagnosis, so our process is to refer, providing a clinical report of our observations, so that they can confirm and make a diagnosis. We can and do tell patients when we think something isn’t right and will explain why, but we cannot provide a clinical diagnosis. You will hear language like “this looks like” or “in my opinion” and that “we need to refer you to your clinical care team”.

When checking the CCTV in our clinic, your behaviour and the series of event as they took place corroborated our staff’s version of events. Whilst we take onboard criticism and complaints where it’s due (and you will see this reflected in responses to other negative feedback), I feel they did their best to handle your behaviour at the time. We will review our training on handling abrupt behaviour in the clinic so that everyone can have a better experience.

This is not the feedback we receive about the staff in our clinics and in particular the Sonographer that we have in our Widnes clinic. We have received fair criticism about the Sonographer in our Crewe clinic which resulted in a change of staff there recently to improve this. At the same time as reading your review I received feedback from another patient with completely the opposite feedback, thanking us for how the same team handled and supported them in a difficult situation.

Again, I thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and I wish you and your partner the very best for the future.

Disappointed.

I came for a scan on Saturday with my partner,it was the first time seeing our baby so we were super excited and a little nervous as you have a mix of emotions hoping that everything is OK.
The reception and building is lovely,clean & calming.
It's just a shame I can't say the same thing about the staff, especially the lady who I was greeted with on the reception.
I understand if someone is having a bad day or just isn't a very "people person" maybe but when you go into somewhere especially when it's to do with your unborn baby you just expect and would want to be greeted with someone who at least seems to come across as a happy person,or at least a smile as you are feeling a ray of emotions before that scan.

It felt like I was speaking to a robot and it would of just been nice to at least have some kind of a smile.
Me and my partner have been various scan places with our previous two children and have always come out and felt 100%.
Unfortunately we won't be coming back for our early gender as this has really disappointed us as we were recommended by a friend!
I think maybe a course on people skills or just generally coming across a little happier would go a long way is a business like this.

The lady who scanned me was the slightest bit happier and she didn't rush us and asked if we had any questions,it was great to see our baby right Infront of us and be reassured that everything is going into the direction it should be.

Thank you for taking the time to send us a review. I firstly would like to apologise for the experience that you had yesterday, this isn't what we intend at all and we're sorry about this.

Whilst it's by no means an excuse the receptionist had dealt with quite a lot yesterday prior to your scan which was the last appointment of the day. This doesn't make it OK for them to greet or serve you in this manner at all, but I wanted to add some context for your benefit as to why she may have been like this on this particular occasion. We are working hard at the moment in our Crewe clinic specifically to make some significant changes in the coming weeks (not as a result of your feedback, but as part of regular and ongoing feedback that we receive and take very seriously), which we hope will have a massive (and positive) impact on the smooth running of the clinic in Crewe, and both the mood and fatigue of our team there as a result. As a small family run business, we care deeply about our customers, and also our staff, but unfortunately it is beyond our control to make these changes any quicker at the moment, and the team of receptionists are doing their best to work through the current circumstances, which we thought they were doing admirably.

In terms of training, I would like to assure you that all of our team have specifically received training in customer service and people skills as part of over 30 mandatory training courses that they must complete before they are able to work unsupervised, as well as completing months of supervised working to ensure that they are delivering customer service to the level we expect, and this isn't normally the feedback we get about any of the receptionists in either of our clinics. In addition to training, we do regularly ask for and act on feedback from customers so that we can identify where there are problems as early as possible, not just regarding our receptions, but in all aspects of our service, including in the form of secret shoppers so that the team don't influence that feedback we receive, and none of these have highlighted any problems with attitude and behaviour from the receptionists before now.

We are genuinely sorry that your experience was as you described yesterday, and truly disappointed that you wouldn't return to us again in the future. I wish you all the very best for the remainder of your pregnancy of course, and if at any point you would like to give us another chance, please do contact us at feedback@yourbabyscan.com as we would love the opportunity to turn things around once our changes are in place.

The best scan centre!!!

We had come to your baby scan for a early scan and a gender scan last year/this year and always were very accommodating and a lovely atmosphere with very friendly people. We then decided to book a 4D scan and could not recommend enough, three times they aloud us to come back (free of charge) to get to see our little one and did everything they could to make sure we got to see her. Wonderful staff and hopefully will still be going for our second baby🤞🏼 Thank you!!

The BEST scan clinic 👣🤍

It won’t allow me to leave a review on Facebook as I’ve already left one last year with our other little boy! So have come here to say that it was absolutely amazing & we’re so so over the moon with the images/video we got. We can’t thank you guys enough at the Crewe centre for making our pregnancy journey that bit more special all over again for a second time around. Both visits have been so welcoming and friendly, never rushed at all. Will always be our go-to scan clinic 🤍

Great service⭐

Been here twice now with 2nd and 3rd baby. Will be booking another 3d scan with 3rd baby. Really friendly staff. I feel they go the extra mile especially with the scan its self show you everything check everything explain alot not rushed at all. The shop is spotless and very spacious great service 😍

I love this little family run business…

I love this little family run business from walking in you're made to feel very welcome , any questions answered, the price you pay for the service and quality is second to non , second time we have been from the lake district both times baby very stubborn was not rushed and both times we got fantastic images, the value is outstanding, the goody bag Included is fabulous, we bought a beautiful outfit , the live dvd and a beautiful rhino heartbeat bear , do not hesitate if you want one you will not be disappointed, also very covid safe

I love coming here for scans

I love coming here for scans. I came here with my first and now my second! Had loads of scans with my first baby from an early scan to my gender scan to my very last scan at 36 weeks. Now with my second I have had my gender scan here! Can’t not fault them at all!! Lovely family run Business and amazing caring people here!

Above and beyond

My Daughter used this service and everything from start to finish was very professional. The venue itself is very well presented with nice clean waiting rooms, the staff polite and attentive. The tech used is exceptional and experience is designed for everyone who attends ,( i think up to 4 adults allowed) along with MUM with various screens and wallboards to view.
The baby was unfortunately in a difficult position to get a nice shot so she was asked to do excises to help move him about which unfortunately didn't work.
Rather than saying this is the best that we can do they asked her to re book her appointment at no extra cost to come back in a few days and the resulting images are just amazing.
While I was there I saw some Teddy Bears that you can have the babies heartbeat recorded and put into. As a surprise I msged through the website a couple of days later to order 5 , but realised the business was closed Wed and Thursday and my daughter was visiting me in Salisbury on Friday so explained but was leaving early morning.
A very friendly and efficient receptionist over email organised for the business owner and the sonographer to go in on their day off in order to fulfil my request the following day ! sure enough as they said bears where ready for collection at noon the next day !

Amazing 4d bonding scan and photos

My husband booked us a 4d bonding scan and we had the most amazing experience. The whole team and sonographer were so welcoming and patient, especially as baby didn’t want to show us her face at first. We’ve come away with really high quality and clear photos of bambino and just can’t recommend this experience highly enough! Thanks to the lovely team at Your baby scan (Widnes centre).
