Their financial system Daxko (remember that name DAXKO) blows! They are not only inefficient - they are rude!!! I got fed up, had enough, left ZP December 31, 2025. Now I can't get a tax form. They will not provide a tax form so I am unable to complete last year's taxes. ZERO STARS.

I’ve, unfortunately, been w ZP for about 5 years now. They have an antiquated system that, as a customer, locks you out every few months and requires you to retrieve a link at your email to reset your password. Even though there are better ways, at this point, to help secure customers’ access, I was fine with it until I didn’t have access to my email, which effectively locked me out of ZP. There are other issues, btw, this is just the latest that I’ve run in to.
At this point, I’ve sent them several documents and information, spoken with them multiple times on the phone and given them ample evidence to show that it’s me. However, a day and a half later, I’m still locked out of my ZP account with time sensitive work I have to complete and them telling me, still, that they have a legal responsibility to confirm that it’s me.
It would make for a great SNL skit if it weren’t so infuriating. The upside is that their customer service is super nice while keeping me locked out of their antiquated system.
To say the least, I’m currently shopping other software providers.

I could give you 25 reasons not to use this company. Just trust me don’t. False claims, long delays in service and getting back to you and just misleading business practices and policies. Avoid at all costs. You will regret doing business with them.

1) I am obliged to use your Credit Card payment processor (CardPointe) which is super expensive (~3.5%).
2) ZP app has very limited functionality. Need to show open classes, attendance, bills & payments
3) ZP Kiosk app does not filter by location.
4) Can not inquiry on method of payment in AP ledger.

Frustrating and Overpriced
We’ve been using Zen Planner for four years, but it no longer meets our needs. Recent updates and integrations have caused more problems than they’ve solved, often adding extra fees without real value. The platform is buggy and complicated, disrupting our workflow.
Customer support has also declined sharply. Reps are undertrained and frequently unable to resolve basic issues, leaving us to troubleshoot on our own.
After years of loyalty, we’re now seeking alternatives. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend Zen Planner in its current state.

I tried to save money when I first started my gym so I chose another, cheaper software. It cost me significantly more in lost memberships than I would’ve paid with ZenPlanner. It’s worth it, don’t repeat my mistake. Just get it. User Interface is great, the app is great, the support is unbelievably comprehensive and helpful. 10 out of 10 recommend.

Edit: The team at ZP reached out to me personally and sounded shocked that all of this happened. I was just as shocked to hear from someone who actually cared. They are working with me to make things right. I will update this again.
Original: I was THE biggest Zen Planner fan for years. I created a blog and a facebook group to help other users like me who needed more Zen Planner resources. I scheduled meetings with the ZP staff to show them the features we needed. I spent hours helping them improve their software. I volunteered at their booth during the Martial Arts Supershow, inviting people over to their booth. I even considered working at Zen Planner at one time.
After being with them for many years, I decided to open another business, but suddenly had a terrible life-altering accident happen with our 9 year old daughter. I therefore cancelled the business plans and used that money for hospital bills. I immediately cancelled the new location's ZP account.
In the middle of my family tragedy, ZP used deceptive and unfair tactics to uncancel my account. They removed my access to the database but kept charging me for it. Now I find out years later that they've been charging me all these years - upwards of $10,000, unjustly.
They took their time during my cancellation process, and whoops another payment came out. Oh well. What's another $150?
I save my 1 star reviews for the few that deserve it. Let this be a warning to anyone even thinking about joining Zen Planner. These guys are crooks. The software founders were awesome, but I pity them as they have to watch their legacy be destroyed by the new owners.

They emailed me out of the blue Solicited me and adressed me with a business name i had never heard of. Then when I replied i was not the person they were naming, a different person sent me an email mail unrelated to and not addressing my reply. Very shady and unwanted.
After they saw this review I recieve an email asking for more details because they want my review removed - like a "reference number" (which they never provided)
I have photos of their emails as proof and also the names of the 2 different individuals who solicited me. "Terra Pickering" and "Megan Morotorio"

Zen Planner has definitely stolen my money! I switched platforms hoping for better service, but since then I've been going through a nightmare! I haven't received any payments for 4 months. To solve these problems, they keep escalating and making the process more and more difficult. Every step I complete, they create another one to make it more difficult.

Our experience with Zen Planner has been nothing but frustrating. Their support is virtually nonexistent, and after months of emails, we are still waiting for a resolution to ongoing billing issues.
Despite following their cancellation process, we were still charged, and getting a refund has been impossible. Our account access has already ended, yet Zen Planner continues to ignore our emails, providing no clarity or resolution.
The platform is not as intuitive as advertised, and simple tasks like issuing refunds or managing memberships require excessive steps.
If you want reliable customer support and transparent billing, avoid Zen Planner at all costs. The stress and lack of communication are not worth it.

I definitely got sold when I switched from MindBody to ZP. They promised me all sorts of possibilities with their new merge with SugarWOD, which we already used, it was a nightmare. And their customer service was horrible. I have five emails to their membership services team trying to cancel my subscription and they will not respond to me.
I've been using Zen Planner since 2018 - that's 6+ years as a loyal customer. The software started seriously glitching in 2022. Everything from scheduling classes to payments (over and undercharging our members) stopped working correctly. I reached out to the company dozens of times. I even participated in a zoom meeting with some of their staff in charge of product and development outlining the challenges and failures of the software. Nothing worked and nothing helped. As of writing this review, their online registration feature is broken. I'm losing customers daily because they can't sign up for classes. In desperation, I notified them we would be leaving for another platform. In response, they are charging us thousands of dollars in fees to export our customer payment data. It's atrocious and unethical. I suppose the only benefit is knowing that if they continue this way, they will be out of business soon. No loyal customer that has spent tens of thousands of dollars on software will consent to being treated this way.
If I could rate them lower, I would. Don’t walk, run from this company. No integrity. I was with them for 4 years before I decided to close my doors. They messed up on the closing date of my company, closed me three days earlier than they were supposed to, and I was unable to collect revenue from my students for those last three days. On top of that, when I started with them, they ran the website too, but then they handed that off to a company called UpLaunch. UpLaunch closed in the correct timeframe, however, they charged me for an additional month and I couldn’t collect any revenue because Zen Planner shut me down early. I got hit financially on both ends. Neither organization would refund me any money whatsoever, even though I could no longer use the website. Zen Planner immediately locks you out of your information Which meant I did not have record of my employees time for their last two weeks because their punches were in the system. The only way for me to get that information would have been to pay them for an additional month. I’ve never worked with a company who’s done that and I have been doing payroll for over 20 years with different companies. You always have access to your information, even if it’s only in a read only format. This is how they treat small companies, they’re happy to take your money and you pay them on time every month from an automatic withdrawal, but at the end they weren’t willing to be helpful at all. They’re a greedy company with no accountability and no desire to do the right thing. I feel like instead of just a five star option there should be 💩. That would be my rating for them. I saw another review specifically mentioning their bad experience with Violet Burroughs, which was also my experience.
