Awful customer service, rude and condescending
Placed an order and advise 3-5 days delivery. After a week of not hearing anything I contacted them via live chat and was informed that the item was back in stock, I had never been advised it wasn’t in stock, and I would receive notification when it was dispatched. Unfortunately they use Evri for delivery and I received notification of a delivery time only to have that cancelled 20 mins later. I didn’t hear anything else for Evri regarding an update so contacted Lakeland again and this time got someone who was very rude and told me he was sorry that I didn’t see it was out of stock when I ordered it. I advised him had it been out of stock I wouldn’t have been able to order it at all! I eventually received the item , 2 weeks after the date I ordered and was advised by customer services that because I had received poor service they would issue me a gift card. I responded to the email regarding the gift card on 16/9 and didn’t receive a response or the gift card so contacted them again on 23/9 only to be ignored yet again! This was my first order with Lakeland and will definitely now be my last.
I’m response to the reply below. The confirmation said 3-5 days, nowhere did it say it was on back order. I am capable of reading if something is on back order and understanding email confirmations so once again this response is rude and condescending! I actually spoke to someone on the phone who confirmed I would not have been able to place the order if it was out of stock. You only have to go to your website to see that it literally says ‘currently not available’ with the option to ‘email me’ and it can’t be ordered!
