So disappointed with this company

So disappointed with this company. I ordered some Adidas trainers for my son for Christmas. I get him a pair every Christmas.

He wore them for about 10 minutes and they pinched and rubbed his heels so he had to return home and change. He had thought they were tight due to newness.

I returned these for quality control and they were found to be the incorrect size. So rather than offering to refund or replace I was told that as they had been worn (for at the most 10 mins) they could not offer a refund and I had to organise for the to be collected for return!

I actually asked if they were kidding. They had sold faulty goods, they wouldn't replace them and had the audacity to tell me I had to arrange and pay for the collection and return! What a cheek and terrible customer service.

I received a reply saying as a gesture of goodwill they would refund me.

Am I wrong to have expected to have been refunded or a replacement made? They had sold me faulty goods for which I am sure I am entitled to a refund, but make it sound like they are doing me a BIG favour and making a goodwill gesture.

I will not be using them again and you have lost a regular customer.

We are sorry to hear you were not happy with the item you purchased from our company in September 2025.
All goods should be tried on indoors to ensure the item is the correct fit, at this point we would expect a customer to return the item unworn and in the original packaging if the item is not suitable. Customers must ensure the goods are the correct fit before wearing the goods outdoors. On this occasion this has not happened. A full refund has been issued for the order.
