Avoid!!! Scam
Purchased 2 mystery holidays and got a destination which I had just come home from. The man was nice and swapped it no problem (they usually charge for this), however the hotel options according to google maps are a whole 2 hours walk from the centre. On top of the 40pp fee to pay to fly from any airport other than London (ridiculous), they wanted me to pay a further 80pp to get a closer hotel to the centre, yes it was 400yards but probably the worst looking accommodation I have ever seen. They use the worst hotels. I have only heard of few people getting nice hotels when they use as a last min break, assuming this is just what they have left and they use nice ones if they have to so they don’t have to spend more money. Upon looking at flights for the dates given and hotel it is much cheaper to book online myself. I have requested a refund which they have told me to contact weekender breaks for this. However no response from them and it was wowcher that took my money so it’s wowcher that need to refund it. Conveniently I have heard from others they respond to you just after you pass the 14 day refund window. They also claim you have ‘reedemed’ your voucher when they reveal your location to you, when in actual fact nothing is booked until you contact and agree this with weekender breaks, so they just scam you out of a £200 holiday and give you the lowest of the low accommodation, they need to learn what redeemed really means, nobody has lost money yet accept me. I purchased these initially several years ago and the hotel was reviewed so badly that we ended up staying elsewhere, again out of pocket. It was silly of me to assume they would have changed as a company and to have bought another one. I have contacted my bank to create a claim as the services promised have not been provided. To assume anyone wants to stay a 2 hour walk from the centre during a city break for 2 days is insane. I now have to wait until FEBRUARY for the merchant to get back to my bank with their response, well out of the refund window and really missing the point of a Christmas present, I guess that’s what I get for planning ahead and giving them a second chance. Avoid these companies at ALL COSTS! Take a look on Facebook there are groups which tell you just how much of a scam this really is, if only I had read these first. Hoping someone will find goodness in their heart and give me my £200 back, or Christmas will be a sad one this year. Just glad I didn’t give in to them on the phone and pay more. Please be careful!!
