Car and ferry go together unless you hire from Mode!
Firstly, their price was ok. The initial service was ok. The car had 201,000km on it but it ran fine and looked ok.
We were however, extremely disappointed by their attitude towards us as a customer one we experienced an issue. We believe that they should have known that there was an issue with availability on the Interislander ferry. They should have told us this and could/should have offered us a solution AT THE TIME we picked up the car.
They did none of that.
Whate they did was, tell us that we could off hire early, on the north island (NZ) get a walk on ferry and rehire on the South Island. Oh, and whilst we land at Picton, their closest office to that was Christchurch! So we would have to get there ourselves!
They also advised that we should claim anything lost from our travel insurance.
Fortunately for us, we persisted with Interislander and after two cancellations and much back and forth by phone and turning up at the port, we finally got on a ferry, but this was very stressful to both my wife and I on what should have been a relaxing holiday.
I just took another star away just whilst writing this as it brings back the stressful feeling. Not actually sure that 3 is too many.
