Shambolic service in dirty surroundings

I had the misfortune to go into the branch in Rivergate in Irvine. Tables were dirty and many uncleared. After working out how to order, we sat and waited for 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive before finally going to ask a member of staff about how to get them. There was no indication anywhere, not even in the email confirmation, that we needed to make drinks ourself! She was most disinterested and couldn’t even raise a partial welcoming smile! Eventually she came back and said cups were “there”, pointing in the general direction of a hatch, but handed me two empty cups!

I went to the hatch she had indicated, which was absolutely filthy, with piles of cups, napkins etc strewn around. I made the tea myself, but by the time I got back, we had no notion to drink it so left it and exited the place.

Never have I ever seen a more disorganised shambles of a place! Will never set foot in there again.

Disasterous order

On 8/3/26 I ordered a freezer from the Uddingston store. I paid £40 to have the door reversed as my 85 year old mother walks with a stick and cannot open it on the side the door was on.
The instore sale itself was fine and we had no complaints there.
The issues came with the delivery. It arrived by 2 man team this afternoon. As they were leaving, I queried the door reversal service I had paid for, only to be told they did not do that and I’d need to book a call out for it! One of them tried to book it but had difficulty due to poor reception, but said it was booked for 12/3/26.
In the meantime, I have someone waiting to take our old freezer. They were due to pick it up tonight, but now cannot do so as my mother cannot access the new freezer with the door on the wrong side so she needs to hold onto the old one for now! So, there is now a freezer full of food sitting in the hall, when it should be in a new home and a brand new freezer my mother cannot use currently sitting where the old one was!
I tried going to live chat to check the booking for door reversal was in the diary for the 12th. After over half an hour I was told they didn’t deal with store purchase queries! Yet when I phoned later, I was invited to “use live chat as operators are there until midnight”!
On phoning, I eventually got through to someone and explained the situation. I was then on silent hold for some time before someone COMPLETELY DIFFERENT came on the line! When I asked what had happened to the person I was speaking to, I was told this was a new call and I had to explain it all again!
So, in summary,
a) I was not told the door reversal needed a separate appointment
b) The money for door reversal was taken, but no appointment was made
c) the live chat needs to clarify that they only deal with online orders and not direct people on the phone to use that
d)Phone staff need to follow through on calls they answer and not pass customers on to others!
All in all, a dreadful upsetting experience for an elderly lady!

Disgraceful courier!

I have just seen the Evri courier, who regularly delivers here, attempt to deliver to my neighbour. I saw him, on my Ring doorbell, attempt to ram the delivery through the letterbox, having made NO effort to see if my neighbour was home! He pushed and pulled at it, then appeared to photograph it in the letterbox. He then had to pull and haul to remove it from the letterbox and then he THREW it to the ground where it landed with a clatter!
This courier is an absolute disgrace! I will be checking with my neighbour that his parcel is intact and if necessary will give him the Ring doorbell footage!
Update: I am given the opportunity to contact Evri so they can understand what went wrong! Isn’t this explained clearly in my review?! The long and short of it is that Evri has absolutely no interest in customer experience! I have had reason to complain about experiences with this particular courier on numerous occasions, yet he is still acting in the same way!

Dreadful experience!

I ordered an item from the Coatbridge store. A while later, I went to collect it from the store. I was met by a pleasant girl who explained there had been some glitch and the item was in another store! I was welcome to collect it from there! Having had a friend take me by car, in her lunch break, to collect it, I had no way of getting to the other store!
I was told someone would come and speak to me about it. Then the girl came back and said the person was busy and would be down as soon as possible. After waiting a few minutes, and knowing my friend had to get back to work, I told her to cancel the order and refund the money and I left.
I’d been told they had tried to phone me, which I could see no evidence of, but, to be fair, later the missed calls did show up.Apparently these went straight to voice mail, but as yet, there is no sign of that voicemail. Having failed to get me by phone, I feel an email should have been sent, but it wasn’t.
However, after a few minutes talking to my friend, I went back to the store to query the number they called me on. The girl I spoke to was adamant she had phoned, which I later found to be correct. However,I did not appreciate being called Darling and Dear, which I found very patronising! It turns out,when I said to cancel the order, it was not done and would not have been done if I had not returned to the store! I was told the first girl was going to get someone, but I had not waited. I was never told that I needed to wait to have the purchase cancelled. All in all, a total waste of my time and my friend’s lunch hour! I will never understand how they can tell you to collect an ordered item from a store, only to tell you it’s in a store 5 miles away!

Parcel late….again!

Parcel ordered on next day delivery did not arrive on specified day. Then courier buzzed for access to the block, and left me standing waiting at my door for some time as he delivered to other houses in the block. He then had to leave the block, go to his car and fetch my delivery before reentering the block and coming to my door!

Update: The reply from Evri asks me to contact them so they can work out what went wrong. I would have thought my review stated EXACTLY what happened! So why would they want me to contact them and waste more of my time than the courier wasted?

Failure to deliver on time….AGAIN

Having ordered items on next day delivery (ordered early in the day) I had a relative sit in my house ALL day waiting on the parcel to arrive on 6/3/25.

Silly me! After the fiasco with them last time I ordered an item on next day delivery, I should have known better! At around 4pm, I found a message in the app saying the order was being rescheduled for 7/3/25! I will NOT be at home and I cannot ask someone to sit in the house again on the off chance that Yodel get their act together and actually deliver it!

Basically, Yodel are stealing money! The vendors are charging us for next day delivery, which they in turn pay Yodel, who have very little intention of delivering next day.

Couriers can’t find an address in a town using full address and postcode!

I paid for next day from a company I use frequently, who have used Yodel for all their deliveries to me. I waited in all morning, having received an email telling me it would be delivered today. Mid afternoon, I downloaded the app, only to find a message saying they couldn’t deliver my parcel today!
I contacted chat support to ask why and was told they could not find the address!! It is not as if I live up some random dirt track in the middle of nowhere….I live in the centre of town, just a few minutes from the town centre, they had my full address and postcode, which sat nav will take you straight to! Two other delivery companies have managed to find my home in the last two days, and my home has not been moved! If they can do it, I don’t see why Yodel can’t.
My suspicion is that the courier did not want to climb the two flights of stairs to the house.
I made it clear I needed this parcel TODAY and was told the issue had been escalated and someone would be in touch to rearrange the delivery today. At this point, at 9.30pm at night, more than 5 hours later, I have had NO contact from Yodel at all!
It seems my bad experiences of this company has continued.
Update The response received below is an absolute cop out. My non delivery had NOTHING to do with volume of parcels, but the fact the courier COULD NIT FIND AN ADDRESS YOU DELIVER TO FREQUENTLY!

Fabulous goods and service from Snag!

I have been buying tights from Snag for some years now. I only ever needed to replace them when I gained or listened to weight as I never once experienced a break in them! On the one occasion there was a hole in the toe, I realised my toenail was broken, which explained the hole!

I have just bought one of their towels, after resisting for a LONG time! I was delighted with it to say the least. As a large person, this towel goes right round me with LOTS of room to spare! It feels lively and is very well finished! It may be expensive but, in my opinion, worth every penny! I might even order another one soon!

Customer services were excellent when I had an issue with an earlier delivery going astray and deliveries have always arrived in just a few days. A great company to deal with. Thank you Snag!

Refreshing and pleasant visit to Uddingston store

Visited the store in Uddingston today to browse sofas. We were approached by Hugh, who told us we could just browse at our leisure and let him know if we saw anything. The ability to do this without being pressured at every step was really refreshing!
He told us where to find the sofas and told us there was one half price upstairs we might like, and directed us to the lift so my 84 year old mother could get upstairs easily. Unfortunately, the sofa was not a colour we would have considered but we looked at other fabrics available and Hugh gave us a sample to take away to see if it would fit in with my mum’s riser recliner.
Hugh told us we could order by phone, giving us his number and even gave us a leaflet to contact the British Heart Foundation who would take our old suite. We later did just that and are now looking forward to the delivery of our new sofa and chair!

Impossible to contact customer services directly as they suggest in feedback!

Received numerous replies from Evri, telling me to go to a particular website for help, or phone a number and leave a voicemail message and someone would call me back. Tried the webpage and went to live chat, it was a bit, who took me through ofquestions, then left me sitting for 20 minutes waiting on a rap,y or the ability to write something else as the option was not available.

Finally, I phoned the number. There was NO option to leave a message. It refused to accept the parcel reference, although it was found when I typed it in to the chat option, and after 3 attempts at putting in the number, which was correct, it cut me off!!

UPDATE
The reply Evri has sent me below proves they do not read the reviews! They are asking me to do EXACTLY what I have described trying to do above!

Don’t collect parcels when they say they will

Parcel was not collected on Saturday. An email said we were not at home, which was rubbish as two of us were home ALL day! An email said it would be collected today but having stayed in ALL day AGAIN, no one has appeared to collect it.

Totally useless!!

Arranged to have a parcel collected today for return to a company. I received an email this morning saying it would be collected between 4pm and 5pm today. In spite of two people being in the house all day so far, a secure entry system where visitors need to buzz for entry to the block and a Ring doorbell capturing all activity outside our door, I have just had an email saying sorry the couldn’t deliver (although I wasn’t expecting a delivery but a collection) as we were not home! This email arrived at 1.06pm, well before the collection pick up slot I had been given. In other words, the courier could not be bothered climbing two flights of stairs to collect it! This company is totally useless!!

I decided to contact customer service about this as they are supposedly open to speak to someone until 2pm. I had no success with this either, as even putting in the parcel number, I was then asked if I was calling about the parcel with a particular bar code! That too is useless as even after numerous calls, I got through to no one and gave up!

UPDATE
After the response I received to the above review, I presume answers are sent by bots, otherwise the person responding would have noted my comments on how it is impossible to get through to anyone on the phone. Also, I am a little concerned if they cannot tell what went wrong by my review! So why do they need me to contact them in order to understand it

Letting customers down is a strength!

Having ordered two coats and a pair of shoes to be delivered by Evri, I received a message saying the parcel had been so badly damaged in transit that they could not deliver it! I was then told that I had to contact the sender to rearrange for replacements! Fat lot of good it did me as I needed the items for a funeral tomorrow!!! I cannot fathom how these items could be so badly damaged that they were undeliverable!! It’s not as if they were fragile items!!! More disappointing service from Evri.

Dreadful company…impossible to contact!

Took out a GAP policy when I bought my car nearly 3 years ago. As I sold my car in October 2024, I tried to contact them for a refund on the remainder of the policy. I downloaded the app, but found it stopped working as soon as I said I was the policy holder. I tried to phone, but was unable to speak to anyone, being redirected to the app, which did not work! I wrote to them at the start of November about this, but as we reach the end of the month, I have still to receive a response! I found an email address on other reviews and sent an email to them, which also went unanswered! I am due some money from them,but they make it absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to deal with them! I would avoid them like the plague! I feel my only option now is to contact them for Motor Ombudsman.

Item was dumped in the street!

Item was dumped in the street outside block of flats and I was told it was left in the porch…a porch that does not exist! If a neighbour had not picked it up from the street and brought it to me, I wouldn’t have received it at all! No effort was made to gain entry to the building. Appalling service! This company should be ashamed of themselves!

Generally good but couriers are useless

Two weeks after ordering, I have yet to receive my items…even after the company sent a replacement. I have to stress that this is NOT down to Baker Ross who could not have been more helpful, but to the courier they use who has been useless. I am generally very happy with my orders but on this occasion it has to be the lowest score.

Avoid...even if they are the last company available!

I have had parcels due to be delivered by UPS twice in around the last month. On the first occasion, the driver buzzed the intercom to tell my 80 year old mother, who has mobility issues, that he was not allowed to enter the communal stair area due to Covid restrictions and she had to go down 2 flights of stairs and try to get back up carrying a parcel. So, does that mean postmen, delivery drivers from supermarkets and other service providers are all breaking guidelines? I think not. To add insult to injury, he was not wearing a mask when he handed the parcel to her, standing an arms length away from her!

On the second occasion, I had an email telling me the parcel had been delivered,only to arrive home to find it had not been. When tracking it, it said on the proof of delivery, "met customer man". What does that even mean?There has been no man living here for 3 years since my father died!

Phoning customer service was useless. They refused to listen or answer my questions about why they were unable to give me more information on my parcel and why they insisted I contact the sender. I have to admit that i ended up being extremely irate. The parcel was intended for me, I had paid for the goods and when it leaves the sender's hands it becomes MY property!

Even getting onto the seller has been unsuccessful as, nearly a week later neither they, nor I, have had any response from UPS!

They are a disaster of a company and I cannot understand why anyone would use them!

Update:UPS have said to contact them and they will help. Unfortunately, the company I purchased from asked the UPS rep they deal with to help almost a week ago and they asked me today if I had had anything from the rep. My reply? No, I have not! As for getting in touch with UPS, I did that already to be told to contact the sender of the parcel as they could only deal with the person who sent it, so why would contacting them again make any difference? Is it because of this review, I wonder?

Unreliable ordering system

I was looking for a top and found one I liked. As the postage was £3.99, I decided to order 2 as I was not prepared to pay postage on one item. The order was accepted but when I received the parcel there was only one top as the other was apparently out of stock! I would never have paid that postage for one item but had no choice as no one notified me that they were unable to fulfil the order. Very annoyed at that part of the service.
