Paid $288 to register an ABN and a business name.
$89 of that was for the ABN — which is free at abr.gov.au. Another
$155 was their service fee on top of ASIC's actual $44 business name
fee. So $244 for filling in two government forms that take 15 minutes.
Credit where due: the fees are itemised at checkout and the ABN came
through same day. But the name I chose was refused and still isn't
registered.
Do it yourself: abr.gov.au (ABN, free), asic.gov.au (business name, $44).

It baffles me as to why Google would put such a scam website as a top result on Google after searching for the government abn website. Don’t expect these pieces of shit to give you a refund back.. go to fair trading! Get a bank dispute. Email google. I’m actually infuriated. Not okay.

Use the formal government page
Shamelessly, stealing your money for a free service. It is modern type scam. They pay google to keep their page above formal government page of ABN. So, basically, you enter your information, and pay. They transfer your information on government page. They get your ABN, and then send it to you. If you go through the formal page, it takes a minute to complete your application and receive ABN. Always skip the sponsored pages on Google, and use the first one after.

ILLEGAL SCAM!!!!We never clicked any link
We never clicked any link, or looked up this website but somehow our brand new credit card has been charged by ‘ABN-Register.com.au’ .
I have tried to email them (emailing(at)abn-register.com.au) to find out how the hell they got our credit card information to illegally charge our credit card and to get an immediate full refund for the illegal charge of $128.00.
Our solicitor is currently investigating as this is completely illegal and they have been reported to the ACCC and the ATO.
We have never instigated, approved or had anything to do with this sham company and will continue to take the legal route if they fail to communicate and issue a FULL refund and explanation.

I acknowledge receipt of your email advising that a refund has now been issued. However, this refund comes approximately six weeks after payment was taken, and only after I publicly shared my experience. It is reasonable to conclude that without that review, the matter may not have been resolved at all.
While you state that the ABN and business name were already active, this does not address the central issue. I received a confirmation email stating that the registration was successful. This clearly indicates that your system or process treated the transaction as completed. If the service could not be performed, that should have been clearly communicated at the time—not followed by a success confirmation.
This raises a broader concern: if the service was unable to be delivered, why was payment accepted and a successful outcome implied?
I also do not accept your claim that your website clearly presents itself as a non-government service. The branding, domain name (abn-register / abn-registry), and overall presentation strongly suggest an official or government-affiliated platform. This is not an isolated opinion—many other customers have raised the same concern.
Further to this, I have since identified your business as AGILE REGISTRATIONS PTY LTD, yet this is not clearly disclosed on your website or reflected transparently in the merchant description on bank statements. This lack of transparency is concerning.
You noted that I did not contact your support team prior to posting my review. I did attempt to revisit your website to do so, however it was flagged as unsafe/malicious and access was blocked. At that point, there was no reliable or trustworthy method of contacting you. Even now, your website appears unavailable, displaying a “new website coming soon” message, making it difficult for customers to obtain support.
Additionally, your response does not address concerns regarding the condition and accessibility of your website during this period. Completely virused and flagged as malicious and dangerous, inaccessible with no obvious contacts.
Finally, the claim that your service provides “guidance and support” does not reflect the reality of the process. Registering or managing an ABN directly through the official ASIC website is straightforward, low-cost or free, and does not require third-party involvement. In this instance, no additional value was provided, and no outcome was delivered.
To summarise:
Payment was taken for a service that was not completed
A confirmation email indicated success despite no service being delivered
The refund was only issued six weeks later, after a public review
The website presentation strongly suggests an official service
There is a lack of transparency regarding the operating business entity
No meaningful value was provided beyond what can be done directly through ASIC
Consumers should be aware that going directly through the official ASIC website is simpler, more transparent, and significantly more cost-effective.
I stand by my original review.

- Your ABN was already active from 12 May 2022 to 17 February 2026. As your order was placed on 6 February 2026, it was not possible to process a new ABN registration.
- Your Business Name (“WEBARTTECHNOLOGY”) was also already registered and active, meaning the service requested was not a new registration but a renewal.
As a result, no new registration could be completed, and a full refund has already been issued for the services not provided.
We understand that government procedures can sometimes be confusing, especially when distinguishing between new registrations and renewals, and we are always here to help clarify these situations.
That said, we would like to respectfully note:
- We did not receive any prior contact from you through our official support channel (emailing@abn-register.com.au
) before this review was posted. In most cases, we are able to resolve issues quickly once contacted.

Buyer beware -cheaper elsewhere
Buyer beware! This company charged exorbitant fees for a service that would have only cost me $45 if I went through the ASIC site. I somehow ended up on the ABN-register site and paid $188 for an ABN (free from ASIC) and business name ($45 for a year from ASIC). To add insult to injury, I ended up paying a further $119 for a business name that had already been registered from my previous $188. Thankfully, after disputing my payment through my credit card provider and emailing them I got the $119 fee refunded. I approached this company to seek a reduction on their $143 profit and they refused my request leaving a bad taste.
Please go through ASIC and not this dodgy site, you’ll get an abn and business name for much less money and stress.

Regarding the additional business name charge, we appreciate you raising this with us and we’re glad the duplicate fee was refunded once identified. As for the remaining amount, this covered the service already provided, which is why a further reduction wasn’t possible.

Another unofficial business name registration company
They should clearly state they are not the official government business registration or affiliated or part of ASIC. Purchased a business registration from them thinking they were the official government site. Immediately re-registered through the ASIC and sent them a email requesting an immediate refund ASAP. They replied with a refund so at least they did the right thing.
