Worst company I have ever dealt with
Worst company I have ever dealt with, lack of responsibility, scripted repeated answers, clearly wrong when they provided guidelines in writing which are irrelevant to my situation and do not apply at all. They are incompetent at best and think they can overrule what your longstanding primary care doctor knows that is best for a patient. They are practicing medicine without a license.
Aweful
Aweful, aweful, aweful! I have been trying fro 8 months to get reimbursed. EVERYONE I talk to says that they will call me back or send me to a "specialist" who will call me back. How many responses have I gotten? ZERO! Is this resolved? NOT EVEN CLOSE! We're not talking about a small amount of $ either. This is nearly $2000!
Used to be Good, Now Awful
Horrible. What used to be a very helpful service has been downgraded to a super stressful inconvenience. Previously users could message the Accolade staff through the portal and expect a response within 24 hours or less. Now YOU CAN'T EVEN LEAVE A MESSAGE IN THE PORTAL. Any attempt to leave a message connects you with a TOTALLY USELESS CHATBOT, a huge time wasting frustration. Then you are forced to make a phone call, which can only be made during business hours. The only good thing I can say is that the phone reps are generally good and very patient.
Nothing but poor experiences
I have had nothing but poor experiences with Accolade. Such an atrocious company. It's extremely difficult just trying to get a live representative on the phone. The hold time is absolutely insane. If you opt for the call back option, don't expect to get a call back for over 3 hours. I hope my husband's company does not use Accolade again when it's time for open enrollment. This company should be shut down. Most people that work here are incompotent and unfriendly. Good luck getting your health care needs addressed.
Like so many others
Like so many others, found them to be of no help whatsoever. Your employer is paying them so their HR department doesn’t have to hear complaints and they shield your insurance provider from you rather than advocate for you. Would like to give them 0 stars because they screwed up my benefits after I was laid off 6 months ago and have yet to fix the problem, even though they closed my ‘ticket’ They are a joke.

I would give 0 stars
I would give 0 stars. Accolade is a middle-man that is supposed to be a member advocate, but advocates more for the health plans.
They offer to provide a list of providers who are in network, but those providers don’t have availability, are not accepting new patients, or don’t accept the type of patient, or are no longer in network, so I haven’t seen any benefit to using this part of the service.
They offer to provide support for claims questions, but then state that they can’t do anything for claims. And you cannot contact the health plan because Accolade is the claims support.
It’s really just a service that prevents members from contacting the health plan. It’s the worst experience I’ve had with health insurance.
I love Accolade
I love Accolade. I’ve had them for several years. Every time I have had an issue with a doctor, whether it be regarding billing or a prior authorization not being sent in, they have offered to call and do all the legwork for me, which is extremely helpful since I have a job and don’t have time to do it myself. And I can’t even tell you how many times doctors offices have literally lied to me and told me a prior authorization was sent in a week or two ago when in fact, I chat up Accolade and find out they just sent it in the day before or even that day in one instance. I wonder how many of you are mad at Accolade about things that are your doctors faults.
They even found a specialized doctor for my child that I spent literally months trying to find and had no luck. I’m so grateful to Accolade. They also offer a lot of free benefits and programs. That’s why they send you the links, to let you know about them. They’re there to try to save you money and help you understand how your plan works.
I’ve been reading through these reviews and it’s obvious 95% of these people don’t understand who Accolade is and what they do. They blame Accolade for not getting their ID cards. Accolade doesn’t send ID cards. Your insurance company does, so that’s on them - not Accolade.
Also, Accolade is not an insurance company, but if you don’t like them, complain to your employer because YOUR employer hired them.
Someone else said they left several voicemails over three weeks and haven’t gotten a call back - well then maybe that person you worked with sucks and you should probably talk to someone else if it’s that important. Every employer is going to have sucky employees…that doesn’t mean the company sucks. Maybe you should tell the next person about your terrible experience, it’ll get up the ladder, and then maybe that possibly sucky person won’t have a job there anymore. You sound like you just want to complain and don’t want to help yourself by just speaking with someone else. Why would you want help from someone who isn’t even returning your calls anyway? Oh and have you ever thought that maybe they are on leave? Maybe they had a baby. Maybe they’re disabled. Maybe they died. Anything could’ve happened which is why you should just speak with someone else instead of keeping on leaving messages into the same black hole.
There are lots of great people working there who really care and want to help, and I’ve talked to and chatted with many of them.
Another complaint about someone being on hold forever to add someone onto their plan. Accolade doesn’t do that, your employer does, yet you blame Accolade because you called the wrong number.
Most of you people are nitwits and are blaming the wrong company.
And if you think your actual insurance company would do half the work that you think they will, and that Accolade has done for me, you’re sorely mistaken. But hey, don’t take my word for it. Go work somewhere that hasn’t hired Accolade and then see how it is dealing with your insurance company.
Wish I could give them zero stars
Wish I could give them zero stars. The therapists don’t care to take the time to work thru problems they just want to prescribe you something and tell you to get over it. Never using again and will never suggest to anyone.
Avoid Accolade at all costs
I have had an incredibly frustrating experience with Accolade. After not receiving my new insurance cards, I contacted them multiple times to get my health insurance ID number. Each time, they gave me the wrong number. Because of their incompetence, my healthcare provider submitted prior authorizations with incorrect information twice, wasting my provider's time and delaying my treatment.
To make matters worse, my provider submitted a claim to my insurance company three weeks ago, yet it still doesn't show up in the insurance provider's portal. Since I'm not allowed to contact my health insurance directly, I reached out to Accolade for help. They flat-out refused to contact the insurance company to check if they ever received the claim.
It wasn't until I asked for the contact information of the person managing Accolade's account within my company to provide feedback on my negative experience that the Accolade representative finally agreed to reach out to the insurance company. And guess what? The insurance company couldn’t find any record of the claim. Rather than investigate why the claim was missing, the rep simply disconnected from the chat, leaving me without any answers.
Accolade is nothing more than a gatekeeping company designed to limit access to the medical services that you pay for. Their incompetence and lack of accountability have caused delays and frustration at every turn. Avoid them if you value your time and health.
Over 1 year to find a primary care…
Over 1 year to find a primary care physician with the help of the condescending CSRs at Accolade. When your company turns over insurance to Accolade, it’s time to shop for insurance elsewhere.
The worst experience ever for employees…
The worst experience ever for employees of a Healthcare company.
Making us use Accolade was by far the most frustrating experience I have ever had as a consumer.
We were all punished for working for a Healthcare company that forced us to use this so called service.
It was the worst experience ever.
Called them over and over again without ever getting a correct answer.
They finally got rid of them thank goodness.
Treating your employees like this was telling.
I have been trying to reach an…
I have been trying to reach an associate I originally worked with in June for 3 weeks now. Still NO response or call back. How can you leave 7 or 8 messages over 3 weeks and still nothing???
This company (middle man) is a joke!
This company (middle man) is a joke!! I've been on hold forever just to update a family member on the plan. Why did the UC contract with this horrible company and create another layer to access care.
Terrible.
Terrible.. it’s unfortunate if your company insurance has this “middle man” you’ll never get anyone on the phone.. if you do after wasting hours of your time., they won’t know the answer.. try the live chat on their app? Well still no answer to your question, but they will send you useless links..
Totally Useless
Totally Useless. They keep you on the phone for hours and dont resolve anything!
They parrot the same incorrect info over and over and dont do anything to correct the info. They are a barrier to my insurance. Extremely Frustrating!
Every time its a different excuse!
Another version of useless service
Another version of useless service, meant to fool people that they actually get something for free for the money they pay for insurance. How can a virtual check up work? You might as well google symptoms and get the same result.
Therapists are an insulting joke, a session of 30 minutes with some bored, demotivated, incompetent so called therapist, who barely opens her mouth, no feedback, no advice, she just checks a session on her schedule and gets paid.
The quality of medical services and insurance companies got to be unacceptably bad. A lot of money for constant stress and frustration, hours on the phone trying to convince some illiterate receptionist that you need a certain procedure. Blue Shield should focus on quality in office medical care and decent coverage, access to good quality care, without patients having to beg, rather than these useless stupid services that help zero.
Useless
Sadly, I had to at least give them one star. Accolade is completely useless. Providers that are listed on their app as 'in network', aren't. When I called and asked about this, the rep told me that the provider was not listed (they clearly were). They told me that my procedure code was not covered, but told my provider that it was. Very conflicting information. Was told they could not provide cost estimates for procedures. So not exactly sure the benefit of using Accolade. Waste of time for me.
Don't use "care" for your advocates' title: false advertizing
The company habitually refuses to answer calls to "care advocates", leaving clients on hold for very long periods, never answering, eventually disconnecting. This has happened repeatedly, more than a half hour.
They intentionally understaff in order to drive clients to the web to unilateral communication and bots and more delays.
Shameful.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. Been trying to resolve an issue for over 2 months, numerous phone calls and using the APP... still getting reply that have nothing to do with my request. It seems their strategy is to just not address the issue and hope you go away..
