The tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable and provided us with a smooth and carefully planned tour. The tour was restricted in numbers which was comfortable and allowed everyone to get to know each other well. Also, the bus driver was excellent.

Small groups, ALL inclusive (no "optionals"/ tips), 2-4 night stays, meals on transit days, different styles of accommodation (Trulli's and cave hotels on last trip) - not standard run of the mill hotels, experienced & happy staff (who also appear to like working for Albatross), free time at various locations, Australian company.

We paid premium prices upfront and were downgraded to cheaper, lower-quality accommodation without any explanation.

Meanwhile, other guests in our group were given larger and better rooms—one couple even received a three-bedroom setup. In contrast, we were placed in a single room with shared-bed accommodation.

No apology was offered, and no compensation was provided. Very disappointing experience for Australians traveling overseas paying EUROs with over inflated pricing.

Another great tour from Albatross. Nicely paced, interesting experiences, a hard-working tour manager who went above and beyond. A good bunch of fellow travellers. The Irish people are so friendly, always up for a joke and are fabulous story tellers. But be prepared for many showers over the bathtub.

The hotels stayed in were great and the sites visited were wonderful. The tour director was very knowledgeable and very helpful. The local guides gave a real insight to what we were visiting.

I found that the Northern Spain & Pyrenees Tour by Albatross was the best one to cover the key attractions and the hidden gems of this area. The ancient Burgos Cathedral on the Pilgrim’s Way was a must see site. It was incredible to be able to drive through the La Hermida Gorge in Asturias as well. Unfortunately our cable car ride through the Picos de Europa was cancelled due to bad weather but we were rewarded with an unexpected visit to see the Gaudi designed El Capricho Sunflower themed house instead. That was a real tour highlight. Once again we stayed at amazing places along the way including the Mercure Mont Igueldo hotel set high on the headland at San Sebastian. The views were to die for. Our visit to Minerva the hilltop village was another total surprise. It is untouched by tourists and has spectacular views. Eve was a fabulous tour guide and made every day of the tour an enjoyable adventure. I would highly recommend this Albatross tour of Northern Spain & the Pyrenees.

My Albatross Magnifico Spain & Portugal tour exceeded all my expectations. Our tour guide Darren was very experienced, knowledgeable, extremely helpful and attentive to all our needs. He also sent us some of his amazing photos along the way. We were treated to incredible experiences throughout the tour including visiting out of the way places like the Aveleda Vineyard & gardens in Penafiel Portugal, the magnificent gorge at Ronda, and the Douro River cruise and tapas lunch in our own unique Ravello boat. Our accommodation had many unusual settings like the Alhambra Palace hotel, a fortress in Cascais, and even a former monastery in Salamanca. The meals were of a high standard throughout the tour. I would thoroughly recommend this tour for anyone travelling solo or with family or friends. Everyone was made to feel welcome.

Well organised, informed Guides and mostly excellent accomodation

Great experience once again. I have done four trips with Albatross and with the addition of Best of British and the Ireland Connection it is now 6. I recommend them to all. Their coaches, length of stays and their choice of tour guides make for a wonderful trip.

Albatross takes tourists to the best parts of Europe,
and structures the tour in the best ways. Touring in Europe has become increasingly difficult, as more and more groups and individuals become involved, but Albatross takes as much as possible of the stress out
of this.
The fact that most of the group are Australian or New Zealanders gives the tour a head start in gelling together and finding common interests, which leads to a mostly united and friendly group.
As this was our seventh time travelling with the company, we have always found the company and the tour leaders ready to help with any unforeseen problems.

We recently travelled in Norway with Albatross. This was our fifth tour with them and as we hoped we had a great time. Our tour guide was extremely professional and organised and made sure we enjoyed all of the experiences on offer. The hotels were well chosen and the included meals delicious. We choose to travel with Albatross because of the extended stays on the tours and with free time to explore on your own. Highly recommended.

Our first time with Albatross though most of the other travellers had done more, a good sign. At the welcome reception on the first night, we had to hand write our names on rather cheap name tags. It would have been more professional looking if these names tags were printed and with Albatross logos, and provided to each traveller with the tour documentation when that was posted out. The tour director was excellent and very knowledgeable. We chose the tour because of its itinerary which not only included the usual sights but less visited ones such as Powerscourt Gardens and Aran Island. The hotel accomm. was generally good and we liked spending 2-3 nights in each which meant less time unpacking and repacking. The tour included many meals which were of excellent quality.

Love the 2 or 3 night stay in each hotel, and the bugger coach for smaller group.

As a first-time traveller with Albatross Tours, I was impressed with how well organised and seamless the tour was. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and his commentary each day on the bus was excellent.
At the Welcome Dinner I was disappointed that we had to write our own names on a name tag with pin which we would wear the first few days while getting to know other passengers. I was expecting a printed name tag or lanyard with the company name and my name already provided. This would have been advertising for Albatross and a more professional way of travelling. Also, it would have been nice to have stand-up drinks before the Welcome Dinner on the first evening as a way to introduce ourselves, mingle, and get to know each other in the early stages of the tour.

Good balance of things to see and do, so that we both enjoyed the tour. Karen our tour guide was fantastic and a lovely person to be with

Overall, the trip was fantastic. Our guide, Elizabeth, was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. Our driver, Massimiliano, was also very good. I liked the itinerary overall, although I would definitely have liked to stay at the hotel in Rieti a bit longer. I definitely appreciated the free time that was built into the tour. Often this was spent with our tour participants, but we could also take time to explore on our own or rest when needed. The one downside of the whole trip for me was the hotel in Chianciano Terme. It definitely didn't live up to my expectations and I would recommend Albatross looks elsewhere in the future.

We did complete reviews at the time of our experience with Albatross in June/July. Overall we had good experiences & particularly rated our tour leader very highly.
We were disappointed that Albatross did not respond to our reviews & a couple of comments we made- unfortunately those comments are now out of mind.
