I like Altra trainers, but make sure if ordering from the UK you order from a shop in the UK that stocks Altra trainers. Do not order from their site!

They get shipped from Italy and the returns are an absolute nightmare. They actually received my return on 9 Oct and I did not get my refund until 2 Nov… what are they playing at?

Just look at the other reviews, they must be losing customers fast.

Har købt nogle sko for en måned siden, har ikke modtaget dem endnu 🤬
Har kontaktet dem 1 gang for at høre hvor mine sko bliver af, og de svarer ikke. Nu har jeg skrevet til dem igen, så kan man jo håbe på at de svarer/sender mine sko som jeg har betalt for.
Ville ønske jeg havde tjekket dem ud her på trustpilot først, for det er da spild af penge…

Bought a pair of Torin 7 which were comfy shoes but the quality just isn't there. Several holes in the uppers after less than 50km and the brand logo was peeling! Customer service finally accepted the warranty claim after almost a month of chasing but no sign of the refund they said would take 4 working days, 10+ days later. Customer service is super slow. I have decided not to buy further Altra shoes or products in the future as a result. Such a shame.

Well – I’d taken photos of my Lone Peak all weather boots to send to Altra, but it seems from these reviews that there’s not much point bothering.
I returned my first pair to the (UK) shop after around five outings because they were leaking and splitting between the nylon upper and the plastic welt – the shop owner said “that’s rubbish” – and arranged for replacements. That was in July 2022. Altra might say that was a LONG, LONG time ago, but the new ones have been only lightly worn because I spent much of the intervening period waiting for a hip replacement – and you don’t do much hiking in those circumstances. However there are now holes at the bend point through to the Goretex. Soon they’ll be leaking – and then what?
Are we supposed to replace Altras every few outings because they are made of such flimsy materials?
WHAT AN ECOLOGICAL DISGRACE from a company with a website which says “This planet is our racecourse. Our trail. Ours to explore. It’s where we live, breathe, run and move. And who we are? We are the people. We are everyone. From all over. To live at our highest level and unleash our true potential, we must invest not only in ourselves, but also in our planet.”

If I could give this company no stars at all I would. Absolutely do not order from this company if you ever wish to see your money again. I returned an item on the 16th August. I was then repeatedly told, until the 2nd October that my return had not been received. It was only when I followed up with the shipping company that I was contacted to inform me the item had been received and a refund would be processed within 14 days. However, NO REFUND has yet been processed despite being almost a month since I was advised the refund would be processed. When I followed up I was told there was an error processing the transaction and I now get absolutely no response to my emails. I have now left this matter in the hands of my bank in the vain hope I will get my £175 back one way or another. Absolute scammers!

I bought two shoes from the EU website, one came with one defect, and the other was the wrong size, I tried to return both from Ireland, and paid 20 euros to return each one of them via AnPost, one was returned successfully, the other (the one with defect) for some reason unknown never reached the destiny and it was returned to me, lost in total 150 Euros, lesson learned, ALWAYS check what is the return method, it is an easy and trustworthy one, is better to pay 50 euros more and buy from a good website.

Die Schuhe sind viel kleiner, da offensichtlich die Umrechnung von amerikanischen zu europäischen Größen nicht richtig gemacht wird.
Das Handling danach, wenn man Schuhe zurückgeben möchte, ist eine Katastrophe. Von Altra werden irgendwelche Fragemails geschickt, aber nach fast einer Woche noch kein Retourenlabel.
Ich musste die Schuhe auf eigene Kosten ins Ausland versenden - da waren mal über 30 Euro weg.
Nie wieder!

I have previously bought four pairs of shoes from Altrarunning.eu. I purchased a fifth pair, they were too big. The return cost to Italy was £80. The shoes cost me £150. The customer service is non-existent. I have emailed 5 times and tried to telephone. The customer service phone number goes to an answer phone. I am now stuck with a pair of shoes that are too big and am £150 out of pocket. Beware - do not use this company.

Bought Torin 7s online in June 23. Fit was fine, however the shoes started to lose form and disintegrate, with the heels on both tearing, almost immediately. I contacted Altra customer service and was asked to provide photos and receipt, which I submitted. Note the shoes had less than 30 miles on them. Within 5 minutes my return request was denied, with their diagnosis being “normal wear and tear due to heel slippage”. Right - in two months with minimal mileage. I now see other reviews mentioning issues with heel disintegration - I wish I had seen them prior. Now I’m out 150US with useless shoes. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Zero response to four messages submitted on the eu website.

Absolutely appalling in all regards. Would give zero stars if able. Rating says it all. Didn’t realise such a bad company with appalling reviews could carry on operating so blatantly.

Same as others have reported, having an awful time with their returns process. Out of pocket for both the purchase and return and no response from their customer service team whatsoever.

I bought a pair of shoes following the sizing guide, even got 1 number bigger than my usual shoes, and they came uo too small.

I was aware that I had to pay for the return, but there is no return offered, you have to search for a delivery service yourself, and they are located in Italy, so it would have to be international shipping, so about 30-40€ depending where you are.

Huge letdown :(

Thought I'd buy my second pair of Altra's direct as they had the size and colour I wanted, Escalate 3s. Had free delivery. Shoes came with a fault, pinch in the toe box. Contacted customer service but the replies were intermittent or took days. After 11 days of uncertainty they decided I could return the shoes (not sure why a delay for a faulty product). Kicker was I needed to pay for the return even if it's faulty, and it's in Italy!! Wont be buying Altra again.

As I have very wide feet I thought I would give Altra shoes another try having used them several years ago. I read they had been taken over by another company and have to say my new shoes are a disappointment. The toe box is nowhere near as roomy as they used to be. Looks like they’ve lost their way a bit now sadly.

Bunch of scammers....avoid!!! Ordered a pair and were too small paid £25 to send them back and they turned back up at my address....meanwhile I had ordered a bigger pair .....UPS left them in a bin and they've been removed so I've no trainers and I'm owed £280 but they're ignoring me now. 2 months have passed and heard nothing regardless how many times I try contact.

Identical to most of the other 1 star reviews, I tried to cancel my order and altra advised me to just refuse delivery. One month down the line I have no refund and £150 out of pocket, buy from altra with caution if you need to return or refund you have no chance. Avoid like the plague

Ich habe ienen Altra Trail-Running Schuh Boa Mont Blanc gekauft.
Der erste Eindruck war sehr gut, bequem und auf festem Untergrund erstaunlich agil.
Nach bereits 10 Kilometern Trail in den Bergen veränderte sich die Materialkonsistenz an den Fersen erheblich, wurde sehr porös - wie verbrannter Gummi, was zu sehr schmerzhaften und blutigen Blasen führte.
So etwas habe ich noch nie erlebt, insgesamt verschliss das Material bereits sichtbar nach der ersten Tour.
Insgesamt macht das material einen sehr minderwertigen Eindruck.

Unable to return a pair of wrong size shoes without calling to a help desk in Italy. You have to ship the package back to them with your own money and you have to choose the company to use. Altra will put zero effort to returns and the customer care is absolutely s*it. How altrarunning.eu treats their loyal customers is a big joke and they are basically spitting in your face. I ordered the Altra Rivera Running Shoes - AW21 and the Altra Lone Peak 4.5. Both pairs of shoes how holes in both sides of both pairs after using them less for 100 miles each. The trend is basically brand new on both pairs.

Customer support just said: we strive everyday to provide innovation and improve our shoes’ quality to keep people moving in a healthy way.

READ THE SMALL PRINT. It isn't immediately clear when buying from UK web site that returns are to Italy. At considerable cost. Also, the women's Torin shape has changed and now no longer fits my shape of foot. Disappointing. Avoid buying direct whatever the discount.
