I had a/s on my vehicle for 5 yrs. Never used it until 4/15/26. Then they tried to short change me with the lowest quality parts for my vehicle, and basically wasn’t going to cover the labor. The ave... Toon meer

This company is criminal. They advertise saving you money. But, all they do is steal your money and NEVER cover what they claim to cover. Even when it is clear they should cover something entirely they find a bs reason to reduce the amount they will cover. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CRIMINAL COMPANY!!!
I was very disappointed today when my claim was denied. The"boots" of the front axle on my Audi Q5 were torn and as a result the axles were damaged and need to be repaired to a tune of $2,455.36. After being a customer for four years at $136.00 a month, therefore paying $6,528.00 over that period of time I was told that was a "Maintenance" issue and is not covered under my warranty. The Audi dealership mechanic disagreed with their assessment. You know, I bought this plan to cover major expenses to my car. I understood that oil changes, brakes, tires, etc. and other maintenance issues were my responsibility. I guess I should have had a lawyer look at my contract. But he won't have to review this contract. I cancelled it immediately.
Your company is very deceptive and vague when it comes to engine coverage.
Just like most extended warranty companies You collect people's money VERY VERY easily however when time comes to pay on a claim all of a sudden that particular part of the engine is not covered.

This company takes your money and makes promises. I was told that I could transfer the extended car warranty to other people. I requested a transfer to my son who was shipped to Hawaii by US ARMY. I submitted all required documents with the transfer fee. The transfer has been pending for almost three months, and the customer service people can only tell you that it was still pending. The warranty has been paid in full, so obviously they already obtained all the funds from me, but now they just give me the runaround not to transfer the policy to my son’s name. This looks like fraud advertisement just to get you to pay while they will not deliver on their promises/
Terrible warranty company! They keep saying the dealership hasn’t given an estimate on my truck repair when they gave it TWICE! I called to see why it was taking so long and all they keep telling me is up to the adjuster and tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow is all I’ve been getting for 2 weeks going on 3 weeks. I’m so disappointed in carshield and their claims american auto shield.
We are a dealership. Our service department made the mistake of agreeing to use a customers American auto shield contract. After approximately cumulative 7 hours in total of phone time they authorized the repair for the customer. after completion we called in for final payment and they said they would send a check by mail. Since we have no experience working with this company we had to hold the customers vehicle until the check arrived, 4 days. They only provided there customer with 1 day of rental coverage for the entire process (engine repair).
THE CHECK BOUNCED!
We then had to spent an additional 2 hours being bounced around on the phone until we finally received payment by credit card.
DONT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
The commercials are misleading. I need an engine for my truck and they expect me to pay $5,000 of my own money to pay for a total engine tear down then IF the claim is approved they will reimburse me. I am a fan of Ice T and right now I am really pissed at him. Terrible warranty.
This company is a fraud they won’t pay claims. Do not give them any money. Stay away you will get ripped off.

We bought a vehicle February 2022 and Had the vehicle fully inspected by a Euro expert with diagnostics in March, everything was fine.. We also had another diagnostics completed in April that was all good minus replacing 2 plugs and 2 coils.
We finally received the title of the car in April 2022 but did not receive the service records of last transmission oil change from the previous owner.
May 4th 2022 We had the transmission oil changed. On the form it ask if I had any questions about my vehicle, Since this is was my first Euro type car, I asked if hearing all the gears change was normal for this type of vehicle when driving in the comfort automatic mode. The guy explained that this was normal and explained that it is a Dual Clutch Transmission. He also suggested I buy an extended warranty if I didn't have one already due to the higher cost on the repairs for this type of vehicle specifically a one with a DCT transmission if ever needed.
May 28th Bought the Extended Warranty with Carshield at 84k miles.
Fast Forward to August 2022. Car started occasionally going into "limp mode." After multiple 2nd, 3rd, 4th opinions, and now at the dealership, the car needs a new Transmission... and apparently not uncommon problem with a 2014-2016 DCT transmission.
Inspector from American Auto Shield was given:
1. Diagnostic Papers that show the diagnostics inspection in March when we bought the car.
2.. Diagnostic Codes that shows the transmission failed at 86k miles (2k miles and 3 months after we bought the extended warranty).
2. Service paperwork that shows the recent transmission fluid change in May.
Claim was denied per American Auto Shield stating that because I had the transmission oil changed and questioned about hearing the gears change, this makes it a pre-existing Transmission Issue prior to buying the extended warranty.
It was such a pleasure speaking with Megan. She was patient, kind, knowledgeable and a great communicator. She explicitly stated the procedures for requesting a rental car while my car is being repaired. She represents her company well.
I called to say my car had this grinding sound and I was scared to drive it. They dispatched a tow truck, gave me a name of a provider close by all within a short period of time. The staff was so kind and accommodating. Patricia was so patient with me. I was very pleased.
If I could leave a minus rating I would !!! I am writing this review to help people from making a big mistake. Take the money you would give to this company each month and put in savings just in case you might need it for your car repair. I am not a customer of this company or would I ever be!!!! I am in the auto repair business and I watch this company and just about everyone of these aftermarket warranty companies screw their customers by trying every which way to get out of paying for repairs !!! And if you get lucky and they do it’s either only a Partial payment of the repair and it’s with used parts or cheap aftermarket parts but only after fighting with them to cover your broken vehicle !! And I mean fight !! The reason for my review is to educate people so they don’t make a mistake in buying aftermarket warranties especially this one. I see this everyday and it makes me mad to see customers go thru the BS with this company and end up paying for their repair out of their own pocket anyway!! I have no gain in writing this , my company gets paid either way. I just don’t like when crooked companies take advantage of people especially in the stressful time of their vehicle breaking down.So take it from me stay away from aftermarket warrantees especially this one. They, meaning this company can reply to this review any which way they like this is 100% the truth!!! I experience this just about every single day with aftermarket warranties not just this one !!!!
Complete waste of time and money. If I could give negative star rating I would. After having my dealership service advisor talk to an agent approving repair with reimbursement coming, the repair is denied after the fact. Jump through every hoop they have, and to no avail. Save your money, do not subscribe to this so-called service.

This company is a joke!! A sketchy one at that!! I had a power train plus policy. Ended up needing transmission work. Ended up costing over $6k. They didn’t even pay 1/2 of it. Not only did it take them over a MONTH to approve. No rental car approval, no nothing, so I was stuck without a vehicle. I had to threaten arbitration for them to get movin on it. You never get to speak to anyone other than customer service representatives. They are all very prompt and very nice. However, they are all you will ever speak to. You will never be able to speak to adjusters, or anyone in the claims Dept. EVER!! It’s agains policy!! You will never speak to anyone in an escalations department or corporate!! EVER!! Even if you ask to speak to a supervisor or manager it’s very sketchy. They at one point even told me to call CarChex because they didn’t want to help me. I DO NOT recommend this company at ALL!! There are WAY better ones out there that are REAL, that pay, and will actually help you. I’d run from this one as fast as you can. For real!! This company is as sketchy as it gets. Thank
Buyer’s Beware things sound good until you need to use your contract!!!!! Rental endorsement is a joke and customer service is none existing !!!! Been without my car for almost three weeks mainly because AAS is cheap and is a scam.

My truck been fixed almost 2 weeks and the shop still hasn’t heard anything from American auto shield like other folks told me they tend to drag claims out long as they can hoping that you just drop the claim and pay out of pocket bunch of rip offs and don’t reply back until American auto shield pay the repair bill smh
