I had a/s on my vehicle for 5 yrs. Never used it until 4/15/26. Then they tried to short change me with the lowest quality parts for my vehicle, and basically wasn’t going to cover the labor. The ave... Toon meer

As a former employee of this fraudulent dump, I hate the fact that AAS and their accomplice Carshield, have not been shut down.
The Class Action Lawsuit against them, as well as, the horrible reviews via Consumer Affairs and the business alert in bold red letters via the BBB's website since May 27, 2021 along with the F rating, hasn't made a difference at all.
I also find it laughable how they conveniently get random individuals to post fake 5 Star reviews, after customers and repair shops that have actually dealt with them, post negative reviews that are REAL and TRUTHFUL!
The morons that run/manage this company must not realize how incredibly obvious this is. Lol
Also, to the Customers and Repair Shops that contact Customer Service and curse, yell at, and call the Representatives nasty names that you wouldn't want someone to call you or anyone you care about, you're pissed at the wrong people!
You get hung up on and disrespected in return because of your unhinged behavior! The person on the other end of that line is a human being with feelings, just like you!
The customer service reps are doing what management has instructed them to do, which is lie to you! CSR's do not have control over how or when the claims are processed, and why they get denied. Not all, but some of the Adjusters slack off, and "Management" sits back and allows it.
Those of us like myself with integrity, quit working at AAS long ago, and found better jobs. Others are still there out of desperation for money because they can't find anything else.
Granted, some may be at a point where they enjoy doing the dirty work out of spite, due to being spoken to in such a hateful manner by customers and mechanics on a constant basis.
I must say, as consumers, it's your responsibility to do your research on every establishment you seek to do business with before spending your hard earned money, so you do not get taken advantage of.
Instead, many of you decide to rely on Carshield commercials with D list celebrities that do not need a car warranty, nor have ever used one.
Then, you contact and argue back and forth with Customer Service multiple times per day because you voluntarily signed up for this warranty without Googling the horrible reviews that have been in place for several years!
To top it off, you swear you want to cancel the policy, threaten to get a lawyer, and disconnect the call before the reps can transfer you to the appropriate department and end up calling right back to complain more. Make it make sense!
You cannot have it both ways and you can't even blame the company itself for that!
YOU watched a commercial, YOU decided to call Carshield, and YOU allowed a sleazy sales person to con YOU out of YOUR money! Think about it.
Learn to use COMMON SENSE people! They clearly market to the weak minded!
Bottom line, there is equal blame to be spread around.
Yes, Carshield (the seller of the warranty/contract) and AAS (the administer of the claims) are wrong to promise services they don't plan to fulfill, and cheat people out of money they don't really have.
However, the consumers need to stop being so damn gullible, and falling into the trap of clever advertisements. Many of you are old enough to know better!
The stupidity of the public is keeping them in business! IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT'S MOST LIKELY A SCAM!

I filed a claim through there preferred service center they repaired my ac but only payed 150 towards part i had to pay the rest. I also had a bad rack and pinion because I went to a local dealership to repair in 2021 they were forced by this company to use a aftermarket part. I called dealership they told me they had to put un a aftermarket part so it's not covered through GM. If it was a GM part they would repair asap. Now these people will not talk to the dealership they said it's my problem and will not pay. They said I can file for arbitration I can't file suit. I have reported the insurance fraud to the Attorney General of Connecticut and consumer protection and the insurance commission of the StateofConnecticut. The dealership is also filing a complaint with the state of Connecticut for defamation and unfair and malicious business practices that pray on the poor.

I was on the phone the first time with a claim for 58 minutes working for a customer to get there vehicle covered.... told to call back in 2 hours to check back.... called back in two hours and was on hold for 20min when it prompted me to leave a call pack # ( they don't call back ? " Got the call back and while again trying to get my cusotmer covered they hung up on me...... I've been back on hold now for 47 min and counting ...... this place is a joke
I think I may charge them an administrative fee for the 128 min and counting of wasted time today
May I add.... they just called me back ( after my business hours ) which they are aware of, and I am on hold again..... fighting for my customer to get their claim covered....... I have now spent way to much time on the phone
Extended warranties are a Ponzi scheme. Save your money for the repairs you’ll inevitably need. Don’t give it to them
DO NOT TRUST THE 5 STAR REVIEWS!! This insurance company is a COMPLETE SCAM! They refuse to work on your vehicle even though it’s covered through the insurance coverage. They give both the customer and auto repair facilities the run around. American Auto Shield refuses to provide car rentals even though it’s covered in the insurance coverage. This company has held up any work that needs to be done on my brother’s car for almost 2 MONTHS!! They have extensive complaints through the Better Business Bureau and are not an accredited business! COMPLETE SCAM!!
Went through them to get home warranty. On my second week and talking to numerus people only to deny my claim! Been trying to cancel the warranty since they don't cover anything and I'm getting the run around about that! I guess I will have to go to my bank and stop the draft!!!
THIS IS MY RESPONSE BACK TO CARSHIELD AFTER I POSTED ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE.
I have spoken with Carshield/American auto shield every day since 4/20 and each time I've called I've been told one lie after another. I spoke with a "supervisor" on Thursday, 4/27 who stated that as a courtesy for all the BS I've gone through & paying $86 a day out of my pocket for a rental, he would give me an additional day. I told him that I needed it in writing that I would receive 3 days instead of 2. His name is Jerrod/Gerrod, and he said he can't & that when I called the claims department to set up the rental, they would have the details. Because I don't believe anything Carshield/American Auto says, I called to check on the part yesterday, Friday, 4/28 as I was told that the ETA was going to be the next day. When I spoke to the supervisor, she was very rude (every time I called customer service was rude) & told me that Jerrod/Gerrod noted the account for 2 days. She refused to listen to what I said, kept referring back to the contract which does NOT provide full details about how many days you receive for the work being performed, & you don't care that the dealership HAS multiple cars that they are working on & does not just sit & wait for Carshield to ship the part & as soon as it comes in, everyone is to drop what they are doing & work on my car!! Now I am still paying for a rental which I should not have to as I've been paying $79 a month since 2019 & I'm being treated like this!! I wish I would have done my homework & looked at the horrible reviews & Lawsuits you have against you. I've spent over $800 in rental fees due to your negligence in acting on my claim from day one. The adjustor has to get approval for his approval, call the dealership back & ask more questions & when the dealership calls you back, they act like they don't know what you are talking about. The dealership had to hold more than 30 minutes each time he called you. You purposely delayed them from taking care of my car. The transmission was the initial issue that was replaced. After they did a test drive, they found the alternator was going bad, called you to confirm it's covered, and had to wait for you to call them back (when you called him back, he was with a customer & had to call you back) to tell him that one source didn't have the part & you were looking at another source. The dealership advised you that they had an alternator and could replace it at that moment. You said NO, again, delaying my car from being fixed. All because you found an alternator for $100 less than what the dealership offered!! So now I'm stuck in the rental for another 4 days. I live 77 miles from where my car is and I am only in that city on Tuesdays! Which means I'll have to take off work to go and get my car! You have these celebrities who don't use your warranty, they only get paid to be a spokesperson & they don't care about the real consumers who are being ripped off! You are trained to lie & be rude when someone calls in for a claim. When someone calls to purchase or inquire about your service, you are very accommodating as you are trying to make a sale! This is very stressful, especially for someone who suffers from PTSD & depression!!! I know my response will not go anywhere however, venting relieves some of the anger I have with your company!! I am filing complaints with the BBB, Consumer Affairs, Consumer Reports & the Attorney General for my state. I'm also going to speak to an attorney because the way this was handled, Carshield should be reimbursing me for more than $40 for 2 days of a rental, the hassle of talking to incompetent people who don't know what they are talking about. I literally talked to you every day at least 2 times a day & every time, I was told a different story! I should have canceled my contract years ago when the big scandal about carshield being a scam came out! Everyone that I told to get Carshield, I'm telling them to cancel & find someone else & check the reviews. I have a lot more that I could say about my experience since opening my claim however, I'll save that for the complaints I file because nothing will be done from you.

YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF JUST PAYING FOR REPAIRS WHEN NEEDED INSTEAD OF DEALING W/ THIS COMPANY
Without a doubt, the worst money I have ever spent! And we better off putting the monthly payment in the bank and using it if something bad happens! My car was gone for almost a month waiting on parts and sending in service records over and over! And then I paid 80% and they paid the rest. This all happened when I use with her preferred repair facilities.
Beware of #AmericanAutoShield Claims Information provided by #CarShield I ask for an amount per month and when you have the proplema they disappear and don't respond to me they reimbursed 0 for an engine problem I think it's fair to do a class action to me they created a damage to me because the repair was waiting at #AmericanAutoShieldClaims Information provided by #CarShield now I contact a lawyer to sue them they didn't give neither tow truck nor rental car

The find any loop hole they can do they don’t have to payout for repairs. I have read the contract throughly, followed all requirements. They barely respond to me or the mechanics. 45 min- 1hr holds to just get hung up on.
This is the worst company.they lie about how easy it is to file a claim them keep feeding you some bull crap why they haven't reviewed your claim.i have been waiting for two weeks for a answer and keep getting a bull crap answer.if they cover my claim,as soon as I get my truck back I will be cancelling this crappy company

I filed a claim for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler, the rear oil seal is leaking. I took it to their preferred repair shop and was told by the customer rep to have the repair shop give them a call when the repair shop got the car. American Auto shield denied them to do any work on my vehicle. I called American Auto Sheild and was told I would have to pay the repair shop to separate the engine from the transmission. They told me that the gold plan covered my engine and transmission but not any seals. These are normal repairs, so why pay them if you have to pay for repairs that prevent damage to your engine. I am going to cancel my contract today. By the way, I have scheduled my repair for this Friday. The money I wasted could have paid for the repair. Beware!!

Do not waste your money with this company. They will never honor their claims and they will never cover anything they claim to cover no matter how long you have been a customer and how much money you have paid them. They will always come up with a bs excuse why they won't cover things they advertise to cover. This company is a joke.
