Never use this company
Never use this company. Made a booking to take my daughter to school, didn’t turn up, phoned twice and they couldn’t give me a time. Ended up cancelling and using Uber and will never use these again
unreliable company
Absolutely awful unreliable company. Twice now in the past month my son has been very late to school. We had it booked the evening before and all I got when I called up was we're still trying to locate a driver. If I've booked the evening before I expect the taxi to be at my front door for the next morning on time. Ridiculous!

I precooked a taxi for my early morning journey, for a coach trip, when it didn't arrive I gave it 10 minutes then rang them they apologised but all cabs where on the school run. Rang a couple times more without any luck. In the end had to get a friend to un me to the next pickup point where the coach firm kindly agreed to give me some extra time.

I have been a customer wth this firm since its inception and previously with Wirral Satellite -a good 30 years -and as a non-driver, a frequent customer.
This last 2 weeks has convinced me that it is time to swap to Uber. Since the new system was put in place, I have struggled to get taxis. One day, having been told my taxi was 3 mins away, waiting outside for 40 minutes.
On 2 or 3 occasions, I have had a message to say taxi will be a couple of minutes, only for that to change to 'searching for driver'.
The price has been another issue. Last week, I did a journey which I do regularly for between £9.30 - £9.60 and was charged £11. I rang and complained and was told to expect a phone call - I never got one. A few days later, I was reimbursed for just 60p!
Today, my estimated journey cost was £9.10, intead, it cost £10.75. I paid in cash so won't be getting any refund.
I remember the last time you had a new system installed and there were similar issues, but nowhere near as bad as this. I remained loyal last time, but enough is enough. I am sick of hearing that you are having 'teething problems', those problems equate to me being late for work, late for a hair appointment (which had to be rearranged when I got there, as another customer was booked in) and today, late to pick my grandchildren up from after school club.
I have tried pre-booking, ordering for 'as soon as possible', using the app, phoning up, paying online or in cash. None of those options has worked for me.
It is a disgrace.
I have always avoided using Uber because they don't treat their staff well and I believe in customer loyalty, but I will be downloading their app tomorrow, as I cannot rely on Argyle, which is the most important thing for a taxi company.
Oh - and to add insult to injury, I tried to send this on your complaint form, but it wouldn't let me enter the date and, therefore, I vould not submit it.

Disgrace off a taxi company, used them for school runs for SEN children, never sent regular driver as promised or just didn’t turn up

After using them off and on for 25 years, I booked a taxi about 48 hours IN ADVANCE which did not arrive for us to meet a pre- payed train to London. Could not speak on the phone after several attempts and we were rescued by a kind neighbour after a stressful 40 minutes.

Yesterday afternoon I called Argyle taxis and ithe car came within 3 minutes. The taxi driver said his name was Roy and he was so professional but we still had a good old chinwag and he made my lift home a great experience. Car was clean and timely and I had great company. I hope I get Roy again - seemed like a top bloke!
Don't try and pay by card. 80% of drivers don't have a card machine.
Turned up at my address and wouldn't take the fare because he didn't have card machine. Not good. Rang argyle and they said only 20% of their drivers take cards. This I find this ridiculous in an age when we pay for most things by card.

I absolutely hate their rubbish app. You can’t put in a station easily and you fiddle with pin on a horrible map. I set it to Apple Pay and it looked like it worked. When I got to my pick up no car and trip cancelled, no number to ring. Tried calling the car and no answer. Rubbish
Changed setting to cash and ordered again. Driver was great. Just hate the app so much it puts me off using the company.
Lovely driver
I had a really lovely taxi driver today. Very friendly and I was greeted with a smile. He helped me load my shopping into his taxi and then helped me unload and carried my heavy things to my gate. I didn’t get his name but thank you so much

2 awful experiences with this joke of a firm. You’ll be in your pre-booked cab & they throw you out for a preferred fare then lie to your face about cancelling your booking when you actually saw them delete it! The operators on the base are awful too, unprofessional and rude. They also steal from you, I got billed twice for the same taxi journey by 2 different drivers. Got a refund with no issue because they knew what they’d done. Never again!!!!

Pre ordered and pre paid for cab to station. That bit was easy.
Car didn’t arrive. If you phone using the App it says we know you have a car ordered we are still looking for a driver we cannot give you a pick up time. Missed train. Hopeless. there is no human to talk to. Only good thing was the money was refunded immediately. Not the first time I’ve had similar problems despite several ok experiences. You can’t rely on this lot for time critical journeys

Really suprised at the other reviews. Uber was Uber expensive so just googled taxis near me and argyle taxis came up.
Taxi arrived 5 mins early. Only negative was only cash so had to drive to a cash machine (who has cash now days?). Sound taxi driver.
Phone at 11.30 for a return home. They were there in 10 mins. I'd definitely use them again.

Cancelled 3 taxis while I was waiting and then couldn’t find me another service. Terrible.
Paid in advance
Paid in advance, on arrival at Manchester airport driver demanded payment. That is paid twice for the trip and haven’t receive a refund for the £71 paid to the driver. Have not had a response from Argyle.

At 1am, we kept phoning only to be given a recorded message 'we are looking for a driver' or press 2 to cancel!!! Absolutely fuming. We weren't the only ones, many had done the same and were left stranded.
Will not be pre-booking with them again...what a let down- spoilt the night!!!

Just had a very unpleasant experience in a Satellite taxi, very rude taxi driver, told us not to slam his car door when we got in the taxi. We apologised, even though we didn’t do anything wrong. He didn’t wait for us to put our seat belts on, just drove off and we we’re struggling in the dark to put them on, the driver’s response, just leave it, you’re getting out soon. I will never use this taxi company again, the driver was more concerned about his next fare than our safety

Don’t pre-order, booked 2 hours in advance for midday taxi. normally book as required but as Sunday before Christmas thought best to book in advance. Didn’t turn up when contacting told trying to find driver waited a further 5 minutes as had a table booking, same reply then can cancelled. Wouldn’t want this episode on Christmas Day!!

If I could give zero stars I would. Placed an order for a taxi 48hrs in advance for a works night out in Liverpool. Taxi didn't arrive and when they were contacted to ask where it was, the lady on the switchboard was both unhelpful and rude. Apparently pre-ordering a taxi in advance doesn't mean your guaranteed a taxi. Which begs the question, what's the point of accepting pre-orders if it doesn't give the piece of mind the customer thinks it does? Luckily Uber were on hand to clean up the mess, so it's Uber for us everytime from now on.
