My experience has been great so far because I get to work more independently and at my own pace. My teacher also is understanding about me being neurodivergent and helps me when I don't understand/need help.

This course is for the independent student, and you need to acknowledge that before signing up. It's a very in-depth and transparent course, with teachers who give you fantastic, clear feedback and guide your work to the best possible grade. I've loved it, even though I've had to catch up and battle with motivation, because the teachers have always helped me be resilient and have been very understanding. Props to them, doing fantastic work and getting incredible results from the students.

Despite major admin glitches at the beginning of the year, setting me back a few months, the course was inspiring and it's safe to say it taught me a lot and expanded my creative horizons. The tutors were helpful, critical, and honest, which I appreciate as it challenges me as a student even further. The biggest setback to this course, was all the tutors go on holiday according to the school calendar in the UK, and there was no help for international students who were still working during these times. Otherwise, I'd totally recommend this course to others.

All the teachers are extremely helpful with everything and easy to communicate with. Criticism is given constructively and nicely. All the work is well structured and instructions are easy to understand. The whole course is brilliant, nothing to criticise!

OCAD is great for expanding your art skills - I've learnt so much about refining my techniques. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn more about design, or increase their artistic abilities

I started a level 2 Art and Design course with OCAD in February 2023. I chose this particular online course because although I’ve had a lifelong interest in art, I didn’t have any formal qualifications and wanted to learn the basics and build a portfolio. I also like the fact that as well as the course being very structured, I was able to manage it in my own time. I was a little reticent in the beginning because I’ve done several online courses before but I’ve never really stuck with any of them as I didn’t feel connected in any way or feel that anybody particularly cared if I was achieving or not. However this course has been completely different. Despite the clear framework and study plan, you have the choice to be part of an online group with live lectures or you can choose to watch the recordings at your leisure. There is regular contact and feedback from a group of skilled and professional tutors and the quality of teaching, in my opinion, is exceptional. One aspect that I have really appreciated is that the staff do not just give you an easy time, they really strive to help you achieve your best which has been evident to me from the start. I am enjoying the course immensely, despite the fact it is commanding, hard work, and already as a mature student I’m considering how I can take this forward in future and maybe go on to diploma after I finish level 2. I’ve recommended the course to several friends and would have no compunction about doing further studies with OCAD. Well worth the effort 😊

The level 2 photography course has been brilliant so far. I have learnt new skills through y to he weekly exercises. I am hoping to go onto the level 3 course with OCAD as soon as I have finished level 2.

The Level 3/4 Foundation Course in Fashion Design is really great to prepare for university, as well as applying for a job in the related field. This course really covers many aspects needed to go into university of choice, as it also helps to build a solid foundation in understanding the field. The one on one tutorial works personally to review, guide, and push to achieve things that is definitely out of the comfort zone while allowing students to explore other important subjects in depth, that will complement fashion, such as photography and illustration drawing. The lectures series are delivered in an interesting way, with some interactive discussions in between sessions. Overall a fantastic course to take, especially with the easy to follow online format that will always keep student on track with the assignments.

The support and feedback that I have received from my tutor has been very useful, and I like how personal this course can be made. It’s very useful for preparing yourself to go into jobs as an artist and I’m very thankful that I found this course.

The Key Stage 3 course in art so far has been super. Excellent tuition and very quick feedback. Would highly recommend.

The Tutors where amazing and very helpful when it came to the projects!!

The tutorials were very useful. The feedback through the Teams chat was great. We learnt new skills and techniques during the course. We also learnt about artistic terminology. Our tutors gave a lot encouragement and guidance.

10/10!!! Teachers are so helpful and understanding. Jo was my teacher and it was so nice to have such an understanding, kind teacher. Enjoyed doing my work. Never a boring moment :)

I have really enjoyed my experience on the Level 2 Art & Design course, it has helped me explore different medias and techniques that I never would have tried before. The tutors were very friendly and approachable, I felt comfortable asking any questions about the course content which made the course easy to understand. The live lessons also helped with this, as I could ask any questions in the chat. I learnt a lot from this course and would recommend.

I really enjoyed this course. The tutors were so helpful and made the whole experience easier. This course explores different areas of art which got me out of my comfort zone. This course was great and would definitely recommend.

I've found this course really inspiring and helpful. My tutor kept in touch the whole way through with good, constructive feedback and I've learnt loads about different art styles and techniques. They encouraged me to find and develop my own style too and I would definitely recommend this course to anybody looking for an equivalent to GCSE art.

I really enjoyed my experience on the OCAD Level 2 course. The teachers were very helpful and encouraging and the structure was very good, especially the way that the skills builder tasks were organised. There were good resources and prompt feedback to assignments. Teachers were readily available on the Chat function when help was needed or to discuss creative ideas, and the lessons were very flexible as they could be listened to live on Teams or online later. The course builds towards a Final Themed Project in which students choose their own theme and work towards a final unique piece of art. There are also competitions and online exhibitions during the course to help students feel part of the community on the course.

Katie really enjoyed doing the course and as produced a some amazing work with the support of the tutors.

When I started the course in 2020 before Teams it was on the old online system which was very chaotic and not user-friendly. Then they moved to Teams which was confusing at first but that was probably more of a Teams issue than the actual Art Course. However, as I have been in the course throughout this process I can say that the course is 100% better now than it used to be and it's easy to access.
Communication with tutors was mostly quick and they always responded to my questions.
When I asked for feedback the teachers listed out what I needed to do and what I could improve on in a helpful way.
The only problem I have is the user interface but I think that is more of a Teams thing and less of the art course itself

When doing this art course I felt very de-motivated as I didn't have the creative freedom for the majority of the skill builder, I understand that parts of the skill builder are there to make a foundation for a student. The feedback that I received from the tutor made me feel that I wasn't doing well. This combination created a negative mindset towards the course. I didn't want to do the annotate, I didn't want to draw.
An issue I had was with the tutors, as feedback didn't feel clear at times and it was inconsistent. W
e paid for a one year international course and only received feedback on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Later on my mindset changed as I had more creative freedom and I understood the intention of feedback from tutors. As a result I enjoyed the course more.

Overall I enjoyed the course more when I fully understood what was happening. The tutors need to be online more and give feedback for a one year course as they are supposed to.
