I had a great experience buying my EVO II Pro from Autelpilot.com. The site provided accurate and detailed product information which answered many of my questions up front, shipping was amazingly fast, and their customer support was prompt and very courteous. The EVO II Pro itself is excellent and performs exactly to the needs of my business. I couldn’t be happier with the entire buying and flying experience end to end.

The drone feels 40m for no reason, Autel says :pilot error. Will not be repaired under warranty. Price for repair at Autel higher than for a new drone. No parts available. Autel does not sell parts to customers or independent services . No VAT receipt, asked several times. And Autel removes bad reviews from their website. This one was screenshotted. Bad quality, bad service, no spare parts and review manipulation. Do you want them to have your money?

So far the service has been good. My Evo Lite was damaged in shipment and returned before I received it. Email to Autel have been answered promptly and courteously. I’m awaiting the replacement with excitement.

I love the product, but the customer service is sub-par at best. Before my purchase, I was unable to get a response for questions I had about a specific product I was looking to purchase. The only answer I received was all in Mandarin, and I could not translate it. Since receiving my purchase, the only contact I have received is a request to fill out a review. For someone who will purchase more big-ticket items as my business grows, I have not been reassured by Autel’s follow-up or support. No tech support number to call and no support email responses is a big issue for me and my business! If they want more stars or future business, then the follow-up and support need to come alongside the thousands of dollars being spent!

Autel Evo II Dual 640T RTK offers a good mix of functionalities at an affordable price. This is obviously a personal perception of the product, which I bought to inspect electrical assets, roofs, S & R and eventually relatively small photogrammetry jobs with RTK.

Deployment time: I can do below 1 minute.

Connection to controller: very stable.

Not being geofenced in physically restrictive terms, the drone is easier to manage than geofenced drones. It can be flown also if a new firmware update has been released while not uploaded yet.

The drone arrives in a robust case containing all what someone needs: controller, landing pad, battery hub, chargers, cables, spare props, guides and batteries.
Paper is very little. Someone needs to download the full manual.

The orange color makes the drone more visible, which is a good thing. Navigation LEDs work well.

Flight performances (speed, obstacle avoidance, stability, resistance to wind) are excellent. Max speed can be limited to 36km/h for obstacle avoidance. In Ludicrous mode speed can reach 72km/h.

If not used, fully charged batteries self-discharge to a safety level in a period of time that can be defined by the user.

The drone detects approaching aircrafts and the pilot is alerted by a voice from the controller.

The mission planner of Autel Explorer 2 is very powerful and intuitive: waypoints, rectangle, polygon, oblique, recording and slope missions can be selected. The pilot sets perimeter, height, speed, course angle, double grid, shot angle, gimbal angle, resolution, return to home and what to do in case of interruption of the mission. The app defines an ideal flight path and the necessary number of pics. The predicted mission time is shown on the controller. The drone mission can be paused and the drone returned to base. It can also return autonomously when the battery reaches a user defined discharge level. The drone shuts down when the batteries are swapped and after restarting, it asks if the mission must be resumed. In that case, the drone returns to the point in which the mission had been discontinued and it restarts. Pics are numbered with progressive numbers. Impossible to make confusion.
I use rectangles and polygons, which satisfy 95℅ of my needs. Recording is interesting for cyclical inspections of assets as it records a manual mission and repeats it. I did not test oblique and slope missions.
The drone has also other features such hyper-lapse, follow me, orbiting and other functions. In terms of features it misses nothing.

Cameras: a user can select three modes: only visible, visible with a thermal image appearing at the centre of the visible image and all thermal.
In thermal mode, It is possible to touch the screen of the controller and read a temperature. Readings can be spot or averaged with max and min referring to a larger area. The thermal images at the centre of the larger and visible image can be customized (colors, transparence). The IR camera is effective and a useful detection/analysis tool when used on objects such PV panels, roofs, walls.

Visible: I tested the camera from 70mt height. If used during a planned mission, it seems that 4k is the max resolution that can be achieved during automated flights. In the mission planner, the output files are in a .JPG compressed format.

If used for manual shots, the camera reaches 8K. However, the output appear to be a .JPG compressed file. Set at 4K it outputs also a raw format

File formats: it seems not possible, under the current firmware release, outputting uncompressed .JPG files and/or an uncompressed raw format. This is a limit because when all pixels count, compressed .JPG use a lossy technique. However, this limit becomes a benefit in certain tasks where the subject is close enough and file sizes in the 5-7 MB are more preferable than the much larger uncompressed .JPG.
When taking 8K shot, the camera system outputted also files in the 21MB-30MB size. Not sure; however, I believe that the final size of the Autel .JPG files is depends on the randomicity of the patterns/corresponding bits in the image. More chaos, bigger sizes.

The RTK supports a generic NTRIP-RTK caster or Quianxun.

Controller: excellent display, robust, long lasting, powerful enough to fly BVLOS and with a metal shed in the path between antennas and drone. Supports external HDMI monitor. It has USB-C and USB ports. Connects via BT and Wi-Fi. I could not find a defect in it.

I did not have an opportunity to properly test this drone at night yet.

Ordered a new battery for my Evo 2 Pro. Great price. It arrived in less than a week. Ordered late on a Sunday evening and I had a tracking number an hour later. Excellent service

I ordered the Evo pro 2 v3, as I wanted a drone that could take off anywhere as I live on an island with horrible no fly zones, and DJI drones were not cutting it anymore, this drone was such a surprise it is so well built and sturdy and the camera quality is just stunning! I only wish it has 10 bit and the way how it flies feels different to my dji drones but I think I can get used to it. Also night more is a dream you have to see it to understand for yourself
