Loueur pas digne de confiance.
Pas de représentation à l'aéroport, il faut téléphoner et attendre qu'on vienne vous chercher. 15% de frais supplémentaires pour paiement par CB
Voiture différente de celle louée, pas au même prix mais pas de remise accordée, loin d'être récente, sans climatisation et après tout çà, impossible à joindre quand on en a besoin

Als wir um 10 Uhr morgens den bereits vorab gebuchten und bezahlten Mietwagen abholen wollten, wurde uns gesagt, dass momentan kein freier Wagen zur Verfügung steht. Erst ab 8 Uhr abends könne man wieder einen Mietwagen abholen. Damit wäre uns ein ganzer Urlaubstag verloren gegangen. Bei der Lösungsfindung kam seitens des Vermieters keine weitere Hilfestellung, auch hinsichtlich des bereits gezahlten Entgeltes wurde lediglich an die Plattform verwiesen. Schlechte Zuverlässigkeit und schlechter Service.

Après 2 heures d'attente et m'être fait raccrocher au nez à plusieurs reprise, j'ai loué un véhicule chez un concurrent qui avait des vraies voitures disponibles.
Une douzaine de personnes arrivées par le même vol étaient dans le même cas.

Wir haben das Auto nicht direkt am Flughafen bekommen, sondern wurden abgeholt und in eine andere Straße gebracht, die sehr heruntergekommen wirkte – überhaupt nicht vertrauenerweckend.

Bei der Rückgabe das nächste Chaos: Im Internet war eine ganz andere Adresse angegeben, wir haben die Rückgabestelle lange nicht gefunden und sind herumgeirrt.

Das erste Auto, das man uns geben wollte, war in katastrophalem Zustand (Rücklicht hing lose heraus). Nach Diskussion bekamen wir ein anderes Fahrzeug, aber auch das war alt und verfranst.

Am Ende der Hammer: Für zwei winzige Kratzer wurden uns 650 € berechnet – völlig überzogen und absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Das Personal war dabei sehr unfreundlich!!

❌ Fazit: Chaotisch, unseriös und überteuert. Finger weg von dieser Autovermietung!

Véhicule fourni avec 10km d'autonomie en carburant et dans un état déplorable.
Le véhicule était très abimé, le parallélisme était à revoir car la voiture ne roulait pas droit.
Nous avons perdu 1h au garage avec l'employé de l'agence de location.

Arriving at Mauritius airport, I gave them a call and someone came within 15 minutes to bring me to their location to grab the vehicle. It was a quick and efficient process and everyone was pleasant! I was on my way in less than half an hour.
Unfortunately, I hit a hidden rock while on the way to le Pont Naturel (you have to drive through rough terrain and cane fields), but one of the employees came as fast as he could to assist and provide me with a new rental since the tire of the old one needed to be replaced. I was on my way in just over an hour again! Great service all around. The drop off at the airport was a breeze too - Kuljeet did the inspection efficiently and was kind enough not to be bothered by the birds who had a field day on the hood of the car. Thanks again!

This is my second time renting a car from Autorent, and once again, the experience was excellent. The pick-up process was quick, though I would recommend calling them upon arrival at the airport, as they are often busy assisting other renters with pick-ups and drop-offs.

Communication with the team was excellent throughout. Their staff — including Om, Agnes, Pravin, and others — were incredibly helpful and professional. Autorent offers competitive pricing, and they even went the extra mile by arranging for a car to be ready for me at the airport at 3 a.m., ensuring no inconvenience on my end.

The cars are in excellent condition, nearly new, and well-maintained. I highly recommend their services.

So. I rent cars frequently, this lot are the worst I have dealt with for years. No one waiting when we arrived at dead on 9am our pick up time. Rang them having waited 25 minutes at the designated spot. 10 minutes later they pick us up and take us to a dirty old yard 10 minutes from the air port. Left us to load luggage. Told they don’t have the intermediate SUV we booked and paid for so given an old 7 seat Suzuki thing. Awful dirty old heap. All of the cars they had there were old and broken. We tried some nasty Nissan compact SUV that was just dangerous. This was having waited over a hour for the wreck to have new tyres They promised to swap the car out the following day. Now they just ignore messages. One of the upsides of being a Lawyer is we have correspondent offices all over the world. So this bunch may have some issues with their licence soon. We will be depositing the car back at the airport soon and applying for a chargeback via Mastercard.

Hi, I've recently rented a car in Mauritius. The company autorent Mauritius gives you a car with many small to medium dents and scratches. I think this is done purposely so you might easily miss seeing the damages that is not being pointed out. I took a video when picking up and signed. It was late at night, I was tired because I had a long day of traveling to get to Mauritius and I had another 1.5 hour drive to my accommodation which helps with being a little extra trusting that the people you are dealing with are not going to scam you. All went well on the trip with 0 incidents with the car. The day before dropping off, I tried to make contact to find out where to meet, every whatsapp line then reads and does not reply. Eventually, I got a pin drop and when I got to that pin drop in the morning it wasn't the correct location. It was a business park not too far away from the airport that knew nothing about car rentals. This is part of their plan to eat away your time trying to find them so that when you eventually find them, you are closer to your flight and in a hurry. I had to go back to look at the booking forms to find the location and all I found was parking D as a reference. I was able to ask around for parking D at the airport and eventually found the guy. This is when the scam takes action. He starts his inspection and finds a damage that is not marked on the rental agreement sheet. Luckily i had a video, showed it to him and he agrees that the damage was there and that the guy giving me the car just forgot to make a note of it.

He then proceeds to inspect the car and finds a scratch so feint that my video taken at night will obviously not pick up. He asks if I have insurance and I only had basic, not the additional cover that is offered when booking through vip. He said I have to pay 15000 Mauritius rupees for the damages and that the insurance will give me my money back. I told him that i did not damage this car and will not pay. He was insisting not to worry because insurance will pay, i tried explaining that i did not have insurance and that if he wants me to pay this money I want to speak to police. He then threatened that the police will block my passport if we speak to them and tell them what's happening. I was more than happy to speak to police because i knew at this point that this was definitely a scam. He made a call to his superior and after discussing decided to let me go. He then told me to take my luggage as he was not going to drop my closer to the airport. It was a 15min walk with my luggage to the airport drop off point. I almost missed my flight but at least I didn't fall victim. There are many other reviews on Google of this company trying the exact same scam with many other people, some of which have paid out of fear that they will miss their flight. It's not okay.

La seule chose positive est le sourire des employés et qui restent gentils malgré tout.

Arrivent en retard à l’arrivée. Donc on les attend et faut aller récupérer la voiture en dehors de l’aéroport. Temps perdu ….
Arrivent en retard (de 25min !!!) losqu’on doit rendre la voiture. 25min en plein soleil à les attendre …. Encore du temps perdu.

Concernant la voiture : problème au niveau du signal essence. Reste en réserve alors que j’ai mis de l’essence. Du coup de l’argent perdu et tout bénéfice pour eux.
La blague : c’est comme ça dans toutes les Kia. Ah bon ? C’est nouveau ça.
Bref prix attractif ok mais je conseille une autre agence dont le bureau est directement à l’aéroport et les agents sur place.

Ich habe bei Autorent Mauritius ein Auto für 10 Tage gemietet. Das Personal ist sehr nett und höflich. Die Abholung und Rückgabe verlief klar und einfach. Wünsche ihnen viel Glück

personnel gentil mais manque de compétence, véhicule très vieux, plus de 100000 kms, BVA usée et patine sans arrêt; revue de prise en charge préremplie grossièrement , soit disant sans pb particulier, et effectué en 45s car la personne n'a pas le temps; mais par contre, la visite de restitution plus de 15 mn à observer à la loupe les éventuelles rayures sur les jantes et le bas de caisse, en cherchant à nous 'arnaquer' une prise en charge par l'assurance de notre prestataire discoverscars , voire en nous menaçant d'appeler la police si nous refusions de signer le bon de retour

We booked a car for a month with Autorent Mauritius. We picked the vehicle up at the airport, noted existing damage (which was considerable, including a wing mirror held on with sticking plaster) paid all required charges and drove it around the island without mishap. We returned the car at the time specified, with over and above the correct amount of fuel, and were stunned to be asked to pay a fee for ‘interior cleaning’.

I questioned this and was shown on the document given to me at the pick up location (though there was no such clause on my original rental voucher) the curious stipulation “If the vehicle interior is found dirty (sand, dirt, mud) upon collection, a cleaning fee of Rs500 is applicable”.

As I usually do when returning a hire car, I had gone to some trouble with a brush and dustpan to clean the interior. I thought I did a reasonable job. It certainly wasn’t “dirty”, though being on holiday, I didn’t have access to an aspirator. I assumed, naturally, that Autorent Mauritius would have the equipment to thoroughly clean the interior (and exterior, which showed signs of a month’s use) before the vehicle would be rented out again.

It seems ridiculous to expect a car to be used in Mauritius and not get traces of sand (and mud, in wet weather) into the footwells and elsewhere. I must have hired more than twenty cars in a number of countries (most with sandy beaches) over the years and never come across this sort of footling penalty before. I said as much, but was pointedly referred to the offending clause and told that the car couldn’t be officially returned until the fee was paid. The 500 rupees asked for amounted to less than 1.5% of the total cost for the month, but it was the principle rather than the amount that bothered me. As I had a plane to catch, I paid, but the incident left a sour taste in my mouth.

I also felt slightly aggrieved that my wife and I were not offered a lift from the car return spot in Section D of the airport parking area to the terminal building. My wife is disabled so in semi darkness I had to push her wheelchair the wrong way down unlit roads with one hand while wheeling a suitcase behind me with the other, our other suitcase plus cabin bag piled onto her lap. As I went, I found myself wondering if that was what “meet and greet” meant.

But it was a minor issue compared to the egregious ‘interior cleaning penalty charge’!

That said, besides the cleaning charge and the dangerous wheelchair at night business, the car hire experience was okay, overall. So this is not really a negative review but a complaint about an utterly pointless extra expense that spoiled everything.
