"We had a new bathroom designed by Jacob Dean . He was attentive and guided us well. He responded to all our queries promptly .We are very pleased with our bathroom.We did have an issue with a faulty radiator . Mohammad Khan in aftersales arranged for this to be replaced , but there were issues with the collection of the broken one.

Mohammad was very diligent and over a 2 week period continued to liaise with the company and the problem was sorted.
We have been very pleased with the process."

Fantastic customer service

"I bought a number of bathroom items for our re-model a few years ago. All items have been of good quality and couldn't fault the service. 2 years down the line I contacted the company to ask about how I go about replacing the seal on our shower door, which had perished due to being in a hard water area. Saida from after sales responded quickly and contacted the manufacturer on my behalf. I received a new seal free of charge as a gesture of good will. Fantastic customer service!"

We were really impressed with Bathrooms…

We were really impressed with Bathrooms by Design right from the beginning of our experience with them. The planning stage was excellent and Stuart really helped us understand and bring to life our new bathroom - we loved the virtual 3D software in particular! We were supported to stay within our budget and make choices which would be high quality but wouldn’t break the bank. We were promptly put in touch with Henning and his team at Protea Home Developers who oversaw the installation and made sure everything went smoothly. The finished bathroom is stunning and exactly what we wanted. Thank you!

Great sales team and software for design.
Jacob and Karolina were lovely and helpful.

Service post order was a mess. Products not delivered on time, part deliveries, wrong items, items the wrong colour, chase chase chase but struggling from the beginning to the end. Two weeks elapsed from when we should have received goods , tradesmen held up as a a result.

I know there were warehouse staffing shortages and issues and this did result in the issues so I’d hope this is no longer a problem. I know there was only one man dealing with all issues post sale which is a tall order. I am not sure I’d go back because of service issues I faced.

The products themselves are very good quality, I love my bathrooms as whole.

Revised review: Much better after GM got involved

We bought 2 bathrooms from BBD. Be conscious that they do not provide an onsite survey service so will rely on measurements given to them being accurate. Choice of items are a little bit limited so your design options will be limited too. Nina was lovely to deal with. Unfortunately the service after point of sale was a little bit patchy - improving after the General Manager got involved. Special mention to Shelley too. I would suggest that the telephone lines are better staffed - especially in showrooms & deliveries (obviously Covid has not helped). I can't comment on the quality of the products yet as we have not used them yet - which we look forward to doing very soon :)

Should have looked here first

Should have looked here first, but was recommended BBD. Sales process was fine and quite efficient, but then any form of customer service stopped: follow-ups on missing parts, missold parts etc, but even that was OK. We ultimately tried to exchange one part (<5% of total order) which was unused and were then told this was not possible for a whole host of absurd reasons (incl. the environment?) and had to ultimately purchase again, very annoying. Probably easier to go straight online, same pricing and regulated terms

The issue you refer to was unfortunately due to your builder incorrectly opening and fitting the shower enclosure. As a result, we needed to order a replacement panel to resolve the matter. You subsequently requested to return part of the original enclosure, which we were unable to accept as it had been opened and was not a full product. This rendered it unsellable, and as the issue was not caused by us, we had to follow our policy on such returns.

Despite this, we offered you a goodwill gesture of £100 as a way to acknowledge your frustration. This was accepted, and we felt the matter was resolved amicably. Which is why we were shocked to see this review.

We always strive to provide excellent customer service and ensure that our processes are transparent. We regret that you feel otherwise, but we hope this clarifies the situation. If you have any further concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly.

The products dont last

The products dont last. We did purchase 2 bathrooms plus downstairs tiles from them 10 years ago but bathrooms should last particularly at their prices. They should not slowly disintegrate over time. We have a sink unit which bubbled and warped because its laminate but apparently its our fault? We did wipe it and tried to keep it dry?? The spring plug in the bath stopped working, the shower seal is discoloured and comes off and shower pops of the hinges. We had already replaced the shower head on our bath ourselves. We also had to replace the sink tap twice as they were not sealed properly and got mouldy on the inside. These were expensive Swedish designer taps and luckily they actually assisted us directly. IF you want something that lasts and good customer service we recommend a different bathroom Company

It is important to note that the products in question were purchased in 2010 from our previous company. While we were proud of the high-quality products we offered at the time, wear and tear is inevitable, particularly as the items are now well outside their guarantee period.

We did everything possible to assist you in sourcing replacement parts, despite the age of the products and the challenges associated with finding discontinued components. We always aim to provide support wherever we can, even in cases where the guarantee has long expired.

We understand your frustration regarding the issues you’ve mentioned, such as the laminate unit and other wear-related concerns. While keeping bathroom furniture dry is essential to maintaining its longevity, certain materials naturally degrade over time with regular use.

Fast and professional response

Had a new bathroom from BBD in summer 2019. In March 2021I needed to replace a small part on the bathtub module. BBD customer service handled my request extremely quickly and sent out the part at no charge. Impressed with the fast, professional service from their team.

End of customer service the moment you pay!!!

Great customer service until you pay. Once you pay, that is where the customer service ends. We spend £20,000+. Wrong items sent. Uncontactable customer service. Before you paid they would have replied immediately, after paying, they would be constanting on another call. Their 'designers' don't know what they are talking, unable to answer basic plumbing questions and hence will sell you products that are not compatible. I happen to also be in the construction industry and hence know exactly what I am talking about. AVOID

Have to say I agree with the previous…

Have to say I agree with the previous review. I would not recommend using this company. We recently refurbished a house & spent in excess of £30k with them. Whilst they were selling us the products they were fantastic and that’s where it ended! Like the previous reviewer we were constantly sent incorrect items or bits were missing and their lack of customer service was shocking. I could go on & on about the mistakes and how bad their customer service was which is a shame as I will be doing a few building projects in the future and would have loved to have found a good company to work with as I have in other trades but wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole! Needless to say AVOID AVOID AVOID!
