Professional , polite and shows great humanity when dealing with people who have unexpected difficulties.
Cannot express how much he helped.i can only put this down to a Bank that treats people as humans and not as difficult objects that upset the way Banks operate..

Don't they know this is the 21st century?

Only bank I've experienced that asked me to provide "valid ID and proof of address" - to be sent by email. What made matters worse was they didn't tell me what they wanted as proof of ID.
Turned out to be passport, driver’s license (their spelling, not mine - last time I looked, Birmingham was in the UK), or national identity card, none of which I've ever been asked for before, and, in any case, wouldn't send through unsecured email.

I've contacted Birmingham, but I'm still waiting for a response.

Terrible experience trying to open a…

Terrible experience trying to open a fixed rate account.
Having now read the reviews it seems I had a lucky escape.
There are much better online banks with better rates and much better customers services.
I will never deal with these people again.

OUTSTANDING POSITIVE EXPERIENCE


My experience of opening and transferring funds to a competitive 2 year fixed rate account with Birmingham Bank was very impressive!
I transferred £1 to authenticate the account before transferring a larger amount.
The opening was quick and slick as was every other stage which was completed in quick time and confirmed by a reassuring email.
Well done to Birmingham Bank for providing an outstanding customer service experience!
Please make sure that you also provide this high level of service when you are experiencing large volumes of business.
Many thanks to all at Birmingham Bank for this outstanding positive experience!

I just opened a 5 yr fixed rate account…

I just opened a 5 yr fixed rate account with them and funded the account. Everything was simple and funds showed up in the account within seconds of the transfer.

The only complaint is I use a password manager so I can have complicated and unique passwords. Bham bank's website doesn't allow pasting in of passwords when logging in. This encourages using weak passwords.

Excellent Service from Jody of Birmingham Bank

I opened my first account with Birmingham Bank in June 2024. They were not online then but the ladies on the telephone were very efficient and helpful. This week I opened a new account with them and Jody the lady who helped me went way beyond helpful to enable me to open the account I wanted. I think they are an excellent bank and I will be using them again. I thoroughly recommend them. Hilary
