Black Milk Clothing Reviews 

I had pre-ordered part of a collection back in Nov 2024 when the shipment finally made it to the US I noticed the tracking pinged alot in a state away from me. Then a few days later it says it was out for delivery in that state. I messaged their customer support and they were no help. They said it is usps's fault. And they would not refund me.

I then messaged Usps. They found that the package had 2 different labels on it. Black milk still refused to take any accountability. I had to file a paypal dispute to receive my money back. It took over a month of fighting with them and for PayPal to rule in my favor TODAY. Absolute headache and I will never be ordering from Black Milk AGAIN. I have never delt with customer service worse than Black Milk.

I bought their FFXIV collaboration Spectre dress and I do love it. However, I am super disappointed by the raw edges not even having some sort of finishing on them. I understand it's a part of the style however, for the price I paid I expect there to be some sort of clear finishing on the edges, not sewn, clear finishing. I'm disappointed that I have to go in and do it myself. However, am I happy I got the dress? Yes. I would probably lean this review to a 4 or 5 star if the finishing was done properly done where the raw edges are sealed with something. I would say my review is leaning more towards a 3.5 but I cannot do have stars. But I will say if you can afford the cost and are okay with having the raw edges and finishing them yourself? It's a good dress for you, however, I think that not everyone wants to do that or desires to put in that work to prolong the life of a piece of clothing.

I was so disappointed when I received my order. Very overpriced for clothing that is very cheaply made. The clothing is very thin material and the hems aren't even sewn properly. You can buy similar looking clothes on sites like Temu for a fraction of the price and they are sewn much better. I won't ever be buying from Black Milk again. No wonder the mass produced Chinese clothing companies are doing so well! Time to up your game Black Milk.

Ordered something that apparently went out of stock instantly without being notified by the website, then waited weeks before I had to reach out to find out that the restock won't occur until well into the future. They tried giving me a functionally worthless 10% coupon on the email but didn't even include the code. I had no interest in buying an out of stock item.

Absolutely awful customer “service”. I buy clothes frequently from many retailers outside my country, and literally every single one mentions the type of duty to expect. I ordered one sweater, paid shipping, only to find out duty was 50% of my total item on top of it. When contacting to return, black milk informed me I would be paying for shipping… as if they’re not a corporation that can write off losses. Get wrecked black milk.

The dresses I received were not suitable, so I took advantage of their return process.

I sent them back via tracked aus post and they received it 2 weeks ago. I still have not received my money back. No one will reply to me on any of their platforms.

I had a terrible experience with Black Milk Clothing that I feel compelled to share. First off, the prices are absolutely ridiculous for the actual quality of their clothing—definitely not worth it.

I accidentally ordered an extra shirt, and let customer service know about this before they could ship it to me. They said they would issue a refund. They did give me a refund, but then they still charged me for the extra shirt AFTER the refund was issued... So basically they gave me the refund, only to take it all back.
Customer service has been completely unhelpful; they keep insisting it is the banks issue.
I wouldn’t recommend shopping here. There are far better options out there that prioritize both quality and ethical practices. Save your money and avoid the headache!

Great clothes! I hope they release another DND collection. Or maybe a BAULDERS GATE 3 one ;)

I have Blackmilk items that are over ten years old & look incredible. I bought from them recently & the quality has definitely gone down hill. I bought two black dresses, neither of which came in the traditional Blackmilk material, but rather cheap cotton/nylon. The “Spectre” dress in particular is quite poor quality. The dress layer beneath the mesh overlay is so thin you can almost see through it & the mesh overlay is all rough edges, not a single hem. I wish I could upload photos to this review!!

BM is an amazing world of colour, variety, diversity, individualism and owning your identity of awesomeness!! There is an amazing bunch of staff who work there, who are helpful beyond belief.

Blackmilk has a very diverse range of clothing to suit all types of taste, all ages and sizes from xs - xxl.
They make limited edition collections and also do collabs with movie companies like Marvel, DC, Pokemon, SailorMoon, Gothic looks even mermaids!! and more oh way more!!.

The variety is outstanding and so are the clothes. The clothing makes you feel great about yourself like you are confirming your identity in society in a way, but allows you to be you or whoever you want to be as well, feeling invincible!!

I turned to Black Milk Clothing after reading several blog posts about the brand. They may have been sponsored, but the blogger always details every item she purchases or receives, and I've successfully followed her recommendations before.

And Black Milk didn't disappoint. I bought the A-Sassy-Nation bodysuit and it looks amazing over my curvy, UK16 body - and there would be room for more without any risk of deforming the pattern. It's also sturdy, stays in place despite the cutouts and washes well. It shipped fast, and even though we're a world apart (from Australia to France), the parcel arrived ahead of time (but this last bit is due to luck, not some magic touch from the company).

Now, I didn't have any experience with their customer service or return policy, so my review only relates to the quality of the product and its handling. But my experience was wholeheartedly positive!

They kept my money and never sent my purchase. Scam Company, watch out! order at your own peril!

I bought a Lord of the Rings blazer. Arrived fast and the quality is fantastic. Will buy from them again!

Swift delivery, skirt looks exactly like the photo and I’m very happy. I’m 160cm and the skirt is too long but I have to get everything taken up so I’m fine with that.

I thought that import tax was added at checkout so was surprised to receive a £100+ import charge from DHL on top of the £300 I paid for my order... Annoying. But I suppose not BM's fault and I do love the clothes I've received - they seem to be good quality to me? I regularly buy from other more expensive brands and often have to send things back due to loose stitches or immediately falling apart and my BM items don't seem to have that problem. They fit well and I like the material. Have only tried them on so far so hopefully they will wear well. Maybe they have listened to all these negative reviews!

I was excited to try out Blackmilk after stalking the website for several years. I decided to take the plunge on the Rivendell skirt and the stained glass Eevie dress for an event I have planned. I was really disappointed in the quality, for the price point I expected much better fabrics. Especially the Rivendell skirt which is unlined, unhemmed and just really badly made. Despite following their sizing guide and measuring, both items were massively too large.

I am torn about BlackMilk!
+: Their designs / collabs can be gorgeous and unique.
+: The size chart seems accurate (although not very inclusive)
+: They are mostly transparent about delicacy & care instructions for used materials.

-: The fabric / materials often do *not* reflect their price point.
-: Was hoping for ethical production, but some still made-in-China; hit or miss.
-: They gatekeep leaving reviews on their own website / product pages.

For my two orders (late 2022 and late 2023), I haven't had to deal with their customer service. So can't comment on that. Delivery (to the US) has been fine, no added customs duties in my case.

I love BlackMilk's visual aesthetic, but the price point is *not* justified by the materials they chose to use. I understand that ethical production would be expensive, and hopefully they pay their designers / artists well. But as other reviewers have mentioned; some stuff is produced elsewhere anyway - and you can't sell made-in-China polyester for high-end prices!

I greatly dislike how they seem to gatekeep reviews on their own website / product pages. That's a red flag for me. I don't know how they collect / invite website reviews ('cause there are some), but I haven't been able to find any option to do so.

My first order was two overalls (1 long, 1 short). Wish they weren't polyester & fleece-lined, especially the short ones (why does an Australian company pride themselves on 'toasty fleece' fabric?). I do happily wear the long ones in colder months, and they wash well.

This winter, I caved and ordered a robe and skirt from their stunning Moonbound Studio artist collaboration, plus the Night Swimming ocean print robe.

The Night Swimming robe was worth the sale price I'd say; it's a gorgeous design in a decently heavy velvet. This item does say made in Australia. My main qualm & why I only bought it on sale, is the white lining - especially since the wide sleeves 'fall' in a way that shows the lining a lot! Would have been sooo much better with a black or blue lining. Also, unfortunately no pockets.

The Moonbound robe is CRAPPY material. Clingy, thin, static-y, cheap, and blah. Again, sadly white on the inside, which just looks unfinished. The beautiful (!) outer print only barely makes it wearable. I'd be super upset if I'd paid full price, and low-key upset at the discounted price I paid.

The Moonbound skirt is flowy, although also a bit cheap-feeling, and the fabric type makes the print more muted / less saturated than I'd hoped. I was low-key expecting this; and why I waited for it to be significantly marked down. Again, the creative design is genius (but that's to the Moonbound Studio artist's credit, not BlackMilk).

So, in conclusion; I try to avoid buying BlackMilk products despite their cute designs, and only buy on sale when I truly can't resist a piece. Sad that so many people say they used to be much better! I wonder what changed, and why?

Huge decline in quality. Stitching is coming undone the first time buttons go through the button hole, front hoodie pocket completely detaching. Super Mario leggings had iron on designs that pealed off.

I used to love this company, I was a loyal customer for 9 years. Can't justify buying from them anymore though when you are expected to pay $100 or more for what is now made in China and worse quality than what you can buy off wish for a tenth of the price.

Bought a kimono. The print in itself was gorgeous. When it arrived it was the worst possible material I have ever encountered. Thin, shiny, clingy and see through with absolutely no backing whatsoever so every single thread can be seen on the other side. Not to mention the actual shape of it so that you can not lift your arms up because the sleeves are so low.

For something that costs over a hundred dollars to be made with such poor quality material and pattern it's a insult to myself and others that actually sew clothes. There's no way that I can even rescue this monstrosity by taking it apart and re-sewing properly with backing fabric. I absolutely hate the fabric. It's clingy and sticky.

So much for the fact that when they first started (of which I still have pieces) they were a top quality Australian designer. It's like getting something from Temu or Wish!

Ordered a dres with a harnes! Wore said dress with the harnes and the dress was snagged and pulled after 20 minutes. BM reaction: “that happens” $200 out and the dress will be donated l! Horrible customer service!
