Extremely concerning experience. I would strongly advise anyone thinking about dealing with Black Tulip Funerals to stop, investigate the company carefully and verify everything before sending money or providing services.
My own experience has been extremely disappointing. My card was charged three times. I contacted support because I wanted an explanation and a proper resolution, but I did not receive the level of support or response I expected. I also provided services to this company and was not paid as agreed. After repeatedly trying to get answers, I was left with serious concerns about how payments, communication and disputes are handled.
For me, this is not simply a bad customer-service experience. When money is being taken more than once, support is not responding properly, and services are provided without payment, those are serious warning signs that should not be ignored.
I then started looking beyond my own experience and became even more concerned.
The Trustpilot profile deserves careful examination. I cannot prove that every five-star review is fake, and I will not claim that as an established fact. However, the pattern I found was unusual enough to make me question how representative the rating really is. There are multiple recent five-star reviews from UK and US profiles for an Australian funeral-services business, and several reviews repeatedly use very similar themes about the solar-powered campus, transparent or fixed pricing, no upselling, technology and the company's operating model.
That does not prove manipulation, but it is enough for me to say: do not blindly trust the headline Trustpilot score. Read the actual reviews, look at reviewer histories and compare them with independent information before making a decision.
There are also negative customer reports referring to communication problems, higher-than-expected final costs, additional charges, viewing facilities and other service issues. I cannot personally verify every allegation made by other reviewers, but after what happened to me, those reports deserve attention rather than being dismissed.
I also found a corporate-history issue that I believe potential customers should check for themselves. The Australian Business Register shows BLACK TULIP FUNERALS registered as a business name under OVANTA PTY LTD from 30 September 2025, while the website presents much broader claims regarding its experience and the number of families served.That does not automatically prove anything improper, because historical experience could relate to people or an earlier operation. But customers should be able to understand clearly who they are contracting with, which legal entity is responsible and what the company's claims about its history actually mean.The website also makes major marketing claims about thousands of families served, award-winning service, transparent/fixed pricing, substantial savings and an integrated solar-powered funeral campus. These are important claims. I would want them independently verified and clearly documented before trusting them with a substantial payment or sensitive information.Another detail I found concerning was the privacy documentation. Part of the published privacy policy refers to another business name, “Funera”, even though the document is presented as Black Tulip's policy. This could be nothing more than an old template or an editing mistake, and I am not claiming that it proves a legal violation. But when a business handles highly sensitive funeral information, I expect its legal and privacy documentation to be accurate, current and specific.The bottom line for me is simple.My card was charged three times.I could not get the support I expected.I provided services and was not paid as agreed.Those are not theoretical concerns. They happened to me.I am writing this because I do not want somebody else to find out about these issues only after their money has already been paid.Before dealing with this company, I would verify the exact legal entity, get every charge and fee in writing, confirm the payment schedule, understand the cancellation and refund terms, and keep complete records of every transaction and communication.If you are a service provider working for the company, do not rely on verbal promises. Get the price, scope of work, payment deadline and responsibility for payment in writing before providing anything.And please do not judge this company solely from a polished website or a large number of five-star Trustpilot reviews. Investigate the individual reviewers, check independent sources and verify the company's claims yourself.I cannot say that every positive review is fake, because I do not have proof of that.
