The Web page made ordering my required steel beams very easy,communications were very good letting me know my order was being processed and also again when ready to pick up,on pick up was helped by a cheerful young man,all in all from start to Finnish was a great experience.

Poor Communication and Customer Care
Buying from this company was simple, competitive pricing and free delivery. Delivery and Communication is very poor, I was asked if I wanted delivery am or pm , I requested am and as early as possible because they informed me I’d require 3 men to assist with unloading. I rang the company first thing that morning to be informed my steel was on the lorry and out for delivery. At 1pm still no delivery and the company informed me the driver must be stuck in traffic. When the driver finally arrived,a very nice man, he informed me there was never a chance of my delivery arriving in the morning and the office had put it down for the next to the last delivery. I’ve had three men waiting when they’d finished the job they were doing. I’m sure the company could do much better in Communication instead of wasting other people’s time and money. Think it’s called customer care

However, we are sincerely sorry for the miscommunication and the significant distress and inconvenience this delivery caused you. It is clear we missed the mark on this occasion, and we regret that your time and resources were wasted.
We want to clarify our delivery process: as a multi-drop service, we do not generally offer guaranteed time slots. We create our route the night before to be as economic and fuel efficient as possible. While we can request an AM or PM slot to try and assist our customers, these are simply requests and are not guaranteed.
If you were assured a morning delivery by one of our team members and then let down, I can only apologise for the incorrect information you received. This is a serious lapse in our service, and we absolutely understand your frustration about having three men waiting. We are immediately reviewing our internal communication processes to ensure greater honesty and accuracy moving forward. We value your business and are committed to improving our customer service.

Not a great experience
Not a great experience, ordered on the 05/092025 as they advertise fast lead times (my previous order was delivered within 4 days) no emails no communication so I rang them on the 10/09/2025 to be told will be delivered on the 17/09/2025 way to late for us to complete a very important order, then I was asked what was the latest I told them the 12/09/2025 rang me back to say they could do 12/09/2025 so had to cancel the order was told will take up to 5 days to receive my money back! Have order through a more reliable company order being delivered on the 12/092025 if I had not chased the order it would have taken 12 days to deliver a relatively small order, so if you are in a rush don’t use BM Steel not a customer friendly company

Our website's advertised lead times are live to our processing depot and we do everything we can to meet them. We apologize if our communication around the delivery date was unclear and led to a misunderstanding. We never want to see a customer have to cancel a critical order, and we sincerely regret that our services didn't align with your project's timeline this time around.

Great easy to navigate web site, simple ordering, RSJ ready for pickup later the same day, collection simple, staff very helpful. All round good experience, if I was buying steel regularly I'd be using these guys!
