What a fantastic experience. I enrolled on the DAS guaranteed pass course as an older female with no bike experience at all except being absolutely terrified of them. The staff at the riding school are full of encouragement and patience. I started the journey on a 310 bike which is no tiny machine and passed the CBT and progressed to the F800GSA, I was terrified of it and STORM Benjamin stopped play on day 5 which meant the tests could not go ahead. The course was parked until after Christmas. In January I upgraded the course to 1-1 tuition and the dedication of Ian the Instructor is second and none and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I am now the proud owner of a full A Licence. All the instructors at this riding school are fantastic and full of encouragement, they are friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel at ease. If you want to learn to ride don’t look anywhere else and also there is some stunning countryside to enjoy whilst you are learning.

A little late but I can’t recommend BMW Motorcycle Training in Royston highly enough. The facilities were excellent, the bikes were in perfect condition, and the training itself was top‑tier. What really stood out, though, was David Welch. His depth of knowledge, calm manner, and ability to break down complex skills into simple, practical steps made the entire experience exceptional. David created a relaxed atmosphere that boosted confidence and made learning genuinely fun. A well‑deserved five stars.

We had Stan in Exeter as the instructor and he was incredible, really patient and kept making jokes during our mock tests and was a genuinely nice guy. Those of us who were on the course were quite nervous at times but he made the time to help encourage us and show us some different tricks to get it right. Never once made us feel bad or like we couldn’t do it, hats off to him, he’s a great instructor and thanks to his patience and dedication we all passed the course and got our full licences. Thanks again Stan!

Attended the 6 day DAS course. I can’t say enough good things about the facilities, bikes and the quality of the instruction - all of which were outstanding. With the exception of a few hours on a 125 for my CBT I hadn’t ridden a motorcycle for over 40 years, but after 5 days I felt really well prepared for the Mod 1 & 2 on day 6 which I managed to get through without too much stress. First class in every regard.

If there's better rider training in the UK, I'd be really surprised. From start to finish, everything about my experience was top-notch. I wanted an experience where I felt safe whilst making progress through the training & that was delivered consistently throughout the week. My instructor (Toby) was first class throughout & his communication style made it easy to understand. Everything was provided...all the kit and the bikes were very clean, facilities superb. I've gone from zero riding experience to full A licence in 7 days and am looking forward to getting out there. If you're looking for the very best rider training, you've found it!

Really good and enthusiastic instructors with great kit and amazing bikes. The location is perfect for learning offering a mix of roads and its own secure area for learning slow control. The instruction is first class and you are taught more than just being able to pass a test. You are taught how to ride! This was an experience I wont forget and I would highly recommend.

Don’t think of this as an amount of money in order to quickly pass your test. It’s much more about passing your test and being over prepared/safe for the road

Very well located for its purpose with good amenities.
The training motor bikes were new and in tip top condition.
The Instructors were professional with patience and understanding and with all the skills necessary to help you pass the tests.

The bikes 🏍️ were presented at a very high standard. Everyone was happy to be there and very welcoming from the first day to the last day. Toby my instructor was very friendly and very professional and explained everything very well and very helpful even when i failed mod 1 though nerves the whole team worked very hard to make the whole thing enjoyable and booked the retest very quickly and nothing was a problem. retest a week later and Dennis who took me for the retest was very enthusiastic to get me passed mod1&2 thank you very much to ian and the team as well as the new training instructor david hope he joins the team as he is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable as well 🏍️🤩

I really enjoyed the course from start to finish (and passing my test!) everything was explained really clearly, I didn’t know anything about motorbikes before I went on the course and came away feeling confident and knowledgeable.
My instructors Chris and Stan, were very professional, very patient and happy to answer any questions I had throughout the week. Having a private road network at the school was a great help to build confidence before going out in the road. I couldn’t have come away happier. I highly recommend the bmw Exeter Rookie to rider course.

The whole experience was extremely stress free due to the fantastic instruction from staff. I did the course for a full unrestricted licence and had no previous experience riding a motorbike and have never even sat on one prior.

The course was tricky weather conditions but so glad it was like that as I don’t fear riding in the rain as much, having faith in good kit! I used the helmet from BMW and it felt to be a good safe helmet.

The bikes you are on are in fantastic condition and have great features, especially if riding in the cold and rain, heated grips are underrated!

The only thing I would say is I think the pupils should clean the bikes for the instructors!

Everything made my experience great. Facility’s, provided bikes and gear but especially the instruction, that was top notch. Denis my instructor was just awesome, couldn’t have asked for better person to guide me through, he created a relaxed, pressure free atmosphere that inspired you to do well and we did.
I left passing both mods 1st time and gained road knowledge that will enable me to ride and drive better going forward.

I've just completed my 7 day Rookie to Rider course at the Exeter centre, Passing my tests first time. Martin my instructor was a great communicator, and he was extremely professional throughout the course. He has a friendly calming manner, with plenty of experience to know, how to get the best out of his learners.
The BMW bikes were great to ride also.
I would highly recommend the 7 day course, and I would do it all again tomorrow if I had to. As I passed, that won't be necessary.

My husband and I had an amazing experience at BMW Rider Training in Royston. We completed the 7-day Intensive Course and learned an incredible amount in just a week. The instructors are exceptionally friendly, patient, and supportive throughout, and they continued to offer valuable guidance even after we passed. Highly recommend! :)

BMW Rider Training is a deeply immersive and thorough experience fully devoted to helping you achieve your licence. But they are more than that: the instructors want you to feel part of a greater motorcycling community. Very professional, always on time, beautiful bikes, excellent equipment, pleasant and encouraging. Thank you to Ian, Dennis and David for their attention, enthusiasm and encouragement. I have been to other riding schools and so I can tell you that BMW are streets ahead of the competition. Thank you guys!!!

I recently completed my 7 day DAS course at Royston. The team were amazing and I couldn't have done this without your patience guys.

On the 7th day I was supposed to take both my Mods, but due to bad weather they had been cancelled. These guys managed to fit me in as soon as they could, offering a few hours of practice on both occasions at no extra cost. THIS IS THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Needles to say, I passed everything first time and this is only because of the quality you can expect at BMW Rider Training.

When I decided to train for my motorbike licence I wanted the best possible tuition available. Choosing BMW rider training in Darlington was the perfect choice. Professional and fun the courses are tailored to your individual needs and with new well maintained bikes and safety clothing giving you the best possible chance of success. To quote my instructor “we’re not just here to get you through your test but to make you a safe rider for life” confirmed my decision.

After a few hiccups along the way (not BMW’s rider training fault) they really did go above and beyond to accommodate and help me through to completion which was much appreciated.
Communication was excellent throughout and the relaxed atmosphere made the whole experience enjoyable.
Thanks to Iain, Chris and the team for helping me add the full motorbike rating to my license.
