The insurance selections and pricing are fair and not to be used for luxury or exotic rental cars. The mobile app is not well put together as it doesn’t take the longer newer long form confirmation numbers

Hello Ronel, thanks for the review - we appreciate the feedback. Yes, unfortunately we don't cover luxury or exotic rental cars at this stage, given the insurances we offer are to cover standard vehicles only. We are likely to add new coverage to luxury cars next year e.g. EVs etc though the insurance for more expensive cars will obviously cost more than the current policies do.

Actual limits lower
I bought supplementary liability insurance. The limit while buying was much higher, but once the paper was issued I realized that this is just the maximum limit. But the actual limits are much smaller (per person/ per incident…)
Thats why i felt misled/ mis informed.

Hello Yash - thanks for the message. Yes buying just the SLI is not a good idea, because "supplemental" means "additional insurance".
For example we recommend that people who don't have their on liability insurance, that they purchase the RCLI (Renters Contingent Liability Insurance) give this coverage covers the state minimum liability require e.g. in California the limit is $35K.
When you buy just SLI that means that you are going to be responsible for the state minimum e.g. up to $35K. The SLI only starts to cover you from $35K up to the aggregate of $1M.
We do lay that out pretty clearly on the quote page, though we understand if you are purchase these type of insurances for the first time, it could be a bit confusing.
Just to confirm - when it come to liability insurance we always recommend buying RCLI at least, then if you want extra coverage then buy SLI.

We don't promote phone calls generally, given a phone call can be 2-3x more expensive than the insurance itself. That allows us to keep the insurance policies at a reasonable price compared to the big rental companies.

Make policies more understandable
Here is the issue I have with explaination/understanding of coverages from Bonzah. Per rep's: RCLI, will only cover non Bonzah policy hold aka the other persons vehicle damage and injuries that were involved in accident with Bonzah RCLI policy holder. RCLI, does NOT cover body damages or injuries to Bonzah policy holders Rental vehicle.
In order to have body damages repaired for the Bonzah policy holder rental vehicle, the Bonzah policy hold would have to also purchase CDW, which will then cover all body damages/repaired to the Bonzah policy holder rental car, as well as RCLI policy.
Unfortunately, most of the people who purchase Bonzah are not aware that the RCLI will NOT cover damages to their rental vehicle. Most ppl, see that the 1st word in RCLI is 'Rental', therefore they are lead to believe that their rental vehicle body damages will be fully covered/repaired under the RCLI policy, and that the other vehicle involved in accident repairs/body damages/injuries will be covered too (if Bonzah policy hold is at fault).
I suggest a more easier understand of what is or is not covered on both RCLI and CDW policy explainations. It should be clear as to which vehicle(s) are covered and which will not covered. Car insurance declarations page overviews of policy provided by your insurance company is not understandable to those that are not familiar with insurance policies and don't ask the correct questions.

Hello Lidia, thanks so much for taking the time to make a detailed review of Bonzah! Most insurance companies only offer rental car damage insurance e.g. Allianz and RoamRight. But the problem with their insurance is that the renter cannot drive locally to where they live - those companies will not make a payout if you have an accident within 100 miles of your home. We're non-owners and therefore rent often - and now on the Bonzah website we can rent locally and around the country.
Therefore the big difference we bring to the market is nuance to the insurance offered. For example if you used a credit card to cover for damage insurance that saves you money! But if you don't have your own liability insurance (which many renters don't) now they can cover that risk via Renters Contingent Liability which covers the required state minimum liability coverage in every US state.
On top of that we offer renters supplemental liability insurance which covers them beyond the state minimum requirement e.g. in California state minimum is $35K for liability - but if the renter has an accident with higher damage to other people and property, then they have up to $1M aggregate of liability coverage. We also offer PAI (personal accident insurance given many renters don't have health insurance)
Granted though that when people use us for the first time it may be a little confusing given the nuances of the policy - that why we include relevant link on the quote page where people can see what coverage may apply to their unique situation.
