From the outset I felt I was in very capable hands. The team was highly professional, always helpful, patient and prompt to respond. The whole process from proof-reading, editing, cover design to marketing was carried through with maximum support and clarity at every stage. I am thrilled with the end-product, and only wish I had found The Book Guild earlier. I would commend them highly.

I found every stage of my work with the Book guild rewarding and helpful. Throughout the process, Rosie, Carolina and Sophie could not have been more positive and encouraging. I was being involved in every stage of the production and met with endless store of patience, even when I offered a 'final correction list' three times.

The contract BG issued was simple and straightforward. The production process (copyediting, typesetting, map-drafting, metadata circulation, ISBN purchasing etc) was detailed and efficient. In addition, key highlights were the quality of the cover produced, and the interaction with BG's team who were without exception friendly, swift to help and professional. However, BG's marketing role has been somewhat frustrating, with no industry reviews obtained so far (6 weeks since publication date), no hard-copy placement in bookshops and only modest social media circulation. Additional professional focus on these areas would be immensely helpful to authors unfamiliar with such matters.

Writing a book is hard, but knowing how to move forward after that, is even harder! The Book Guild's assistance with proof reading and helping me understanding each stage of the process with named individuals who I can contact any time has made the journey considerably easier. I really appreciate the time and guidance I have been given.

I really can't fault them. My publishing experience has been first-class. Publishing a book is a complicated business, and there's far more for the author to do than I'd originally anticipated, but I've felt very well cared for, and everything has been explained at the right time. The book looks fantastic - it's publication day at the end of the month and I'm really excited. Thank you!

The Book Guild have been brilliant with my debut novel To Be Frank guiding me through every stage of the process. The cover design was brilliant. I was totally blown away as it completely matched my vision and they have created a strong brand identity with the book standing out in bookshops. All of the staff are friendly and helpful, getting back to me within the same day. The various departments are staffed by people at the top of their game. I will certainly be looking to return for the sequel.

I've been working with the Book Guild on my last five novels and would highly recommend them for independent authors who need support to publish their work. The quality of the product they produce is excellent including the design of the book covers. The staff are very professional and provide a great service. It is not necessarily the cheapest option for self publishing but the old adage of you get what you pay for rings true for me.

This time last year I had almost finished my first novel. Two weeks ago my advance copies were delivered! The whole process was explained well at the start, and at each step of the publishing journey. I found the whole team to be friendly and responsive. It's a scary thing to do for a first-timer, but the team were incredibly helpful. Each department from editing right through to marketing, have the knowledge and experience of the industry, and made it so much simpler for me than I could have hoped for. I'm part way through my second novel, and will definitely be approaching The Book Guild again when I'm ready to submit.

I've been working with The Book Guild on a partnership publishing project for the past 12 months. Without exception, I've found Book Guild staff to be professional, open, knowledgeable, and forgiving of a published author who is new to partnership publishing. No hidden costs, no unwelcome surprises. Prompt and clear in their communications, they let you know what is happening and when, then stick to it. The process takes approximately six months, and The Book Guild have honoured their side of the partnership deal with fairness and professionalism at every step.
The publishing trade is a highly competitive, low margin environment, and yet the pressures that I’m sure this brings has never affected The Book Guild’s care of me as an author. Along the journey they have always responded to my needs and questions, (often clumsy ones) with patience and understanding.
With the release date fast approaching, the marketing stage has begun, and I am glad the Book Guild team are onboard to help me promote my book as best I can.

Very prompt responses to draft submissions as well as all subsequent correspondence, all with friendly courtesy and professional expertise. The Book Guild team could not be more helpful and encouraging.

We connected the Book Guild by email in reg to a publishing book that is due to be launches at the end of May. We were brushed off with an email telling us to go to the author, the book is another vanity chasing author happy to expose all of our families closes moments without any discussion with family members. The family issue is there I agree, we wanted to ensure you were aware of the incorrect items within the book that are both factually incorrect and were never experienced by the author.

I am currently in the process of having my third book published by The Book Guild and couldn’t be happier. Although this process is still underway, I have no doubt that it will proceed as smoothly as the production of my first two books. This involved efficient commissioning, helpful editing, designing eye-catching covers, expert typesetting, timely printing and, last but not least, ensuring that the finished books looked superb. Moreover, post-production marketing was thorough and the despatch of the printed books prompt. It doesn’t get much better than that! And what has spurred me to write this review now – after the completion of the copy edit of my third book – is my gratitude to the Copy Editor, who made some excellent suggestions for improvement. Having followed these suggestions to the letter, I can see that my book has greatly benefitted and am very grateful. What is more, since the start of my involvement with The Book Guild, all its staff with whom I have had dealings have been courteous, prompt, responsive, accommodating and helpful – in short, a delight to work with. I am overjoyed to have found my dream publisher!

From Day One up until delivering advance copies of my book, The Book Guild have quickly and scrupulously answered my queries. Throughout the entire process of getting my first book printed I have mainly liaised with the same person, Carolina Santos (taking Holly’s place after she left the company), and she has provided not only continuity but has been an absolute pleasure. All the staff have been uniformly excellent. I’m full of admiration for the company. Their attention to detail is to be admired and the process of copy-editing, proof-reading and typesetting my manuscript was an excellent example of this as (alongside all the usual cross-checking) it had some 15 pages of unconventional text layout and we worked hard together to get this right. I’m very happy with the end result. The book was beautifully laid out, with good quality paper and the cover’s sumptuous colours and debossing (embossing in reverse) made it a very impressive object in its own right. As someone who is very pernickety about book production this had been an ongoing concern: what if it looked a bit cheap or naff? Well it didn’t, I’m very happy to report. So kudos to The Book Guild, my publisher.
