Stolen money
I had a CD with them and I contacted them 2 weeks before the due date so that I could withdraw the interest. They said that there is "suspicious activity" on my account and that I can't withdraw the money. The only "suspicious" activity is that I want my money. Surprisingly that have already renewed the CD for 6 more months even though I specifically told them not to. These people are thieves plain and simple. Once they get your money you can't get it back.

Terrible company
Terrible company. Set up payment on-line and payment wasn't processed even though correct routing/account info was entered. Deleted and re-entered same info and payment went through. Bread then notified me they "freeze" your account for two months for an issue that wasn't my fault. Calling is a nightmare due to long wait times and reps that are over-seas and don't understand what the customer is saying. I reached out to AAA to cancel my membership/share my story. Shop around as there are better companies with better service and better interest rates.
Absolutely the worst.
Horrible Experience
I paid my small balance of $28.00 on February 11th, 2026. On February 13th I was assessed a $30.81 late fee and interest. I called to dispute this and was offered a 1-time courtesy credit of $15.00. I said I'd take that, but that I was going to file a complaint and closed my account. I tried to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but they said this bank handles it's own issues. Later I got a very rude letter from Comenity National Bank (Ulta card's Bank) refusing to remove the $30.81 fees, so I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency and I paid the $30.81 to end this. Today March 23, 2026, I get a new bill for $32.81 because they didn't get the 30.81 by the card's due date, even though the card was closed in February after I paid the $28.00 balance. A call to the number on the card ended in a rude conversation with a manager. He heard me out, told me I owe it even though the card was closed in February and I was fighting the $30.81 charge. He said he couldn't help me further and that was the end of it. I have excellent credit and always paid my bill. Now, when I was 2 days late, it has ended up in $63.00 late charges and interest in 1 month. Never get an Ulta card. I pay my bills with my bank's billpay and never had a problem before. I know Trump reversed the fair credit bill that Biden put in place to avoid this, but this bank has not courtesy for even it's paying customers with excellent credit. It does not deserve even 1 star.
I typically don’t like writing bad…
I typically don’t like writing bad reviews but in my experience they are money grabbers! Interest rates are unreasonably high and fees are charged out of nowhere. I made a payment on the due date and they still decided to charge a $30 late fee because payment was made after 5pm. Also they charged me $1500 in interest for a wedding ring even after I lost my job. To be fair it was my fault for not making the payment on time but they had no remorse and no exceptions which is unlike any bank or institution I ever dealt with. Not saying they should be shut down or go out of business but I’m highly confident that I won’t be making any purchases through them ever again
Can't stop emails
Someone used my email (not my identity) to set up an account. Now I can't stop them from emailing me.

Literally the WORST bank I have ever…
Literally the WORST bank I have ever used out of all of my cards. This bank is so horrible, that I am making an account to make a review. Commenity/ Bread Financial is the only bank that I know of and use that doesn’t allow you to pay after 5pm EST. Even if you pay a week before your due date, it takes a week and a half to 2 weeks just for them to process the payment, post it to your account, and take it from your account. So if you want to avoid late fees you have to pay like a month early. Not to mention they charge you the interest on your card even after you pay off the initial balance. Save your time and money and get a real card like an AMEX, or even an Apple Card would do you better than this utterly ridiculous bank.
I want to share a recent experience to…WARN CONSUMERS
I want to share a recent experience to warn other consumers about my dealings with Bread Financial and the Caesars Rewards credit card issued by Comenity Bank.
My credit card statement states that a customer “may be charged a late fee.” However, when my payment was made after 5:00 PM on the due date, I was automatically charged a $41 late fee and additional interest with no grace period.
For context, I have not made a purchase on this card since 2024 and have never missed a payment before this incident. My credit limit is $1,200 and my balance is currently about $1,140. The balance has continued to increase due to late fees and interest being added each month, even though there have been no new purchases.
I contacted Bread Financial to request a courtesy reversal, but the company declined.
I filed formal complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Unfortunately, Bread Financial still refused to make any adjustment.
I believe consumers should clearly understand how these policies work before opening a card with this company.
Transparency matters, and companies that provide financial products should treat customers fairly.
If you have a credit card issued by Bread Financial / Comenity Bank, I encourage you to review your statement terms and payment cutoff times carefully.
Consumers deserve clear disclosures and fair treatment.

WORST BANK EVER!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, STAY AWAY!
I made a purchase at Kay Jeweler on December 11th 2025. I enrolled in Kay's12 month 0 interest program. This means I should pay $156.32 per month for 12 months. As you can see below, I made my 1st payment $250 on January 2nd 2026, which settled the January bill. I then made February's payment of $163 on January 5th 2026. I made my next payment on February 7th 2026 of $150 and an additional payment of $100 on February 19th 2026. I set up an automatic payment of $175 to start on March 5th 2026 (not shown) which was when I discovered that Comenity Bank penalized me with a late fee of $30 on February 5th 2026!!! I called customer service to get the fee removed, but was told because I paid before the bill was printed that all payments would be for the previous month. I explained to them that the program I was in had 0 penalty for paying early. The customer service agent even said to me that she knows it doesn't make sense, but that's just how it is and that she could only return $15. This is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. First, they steal my money, then they offer to give half of it back because I'm a loyal customer!!! Comenity banking/credit practices are criminal!

An awful institution
An awful institution! I have never been late on any payments on any of my (many) credit cards. They added late fees to my account that was paid.
To cancel the card I had to make a ridiculous payment.
Do Not be Scammed by This Company.
Horrible Hard Rock Casino rewards
Horrible Hard Rock Casino rewards. Payments take over a week to post even after clearing your bank. Worthless customer service. Save time and money and go elsewhere. Y'all are horrible.
Deceive customers
Deceive customers. Never use any product from this company and their credit cards. Close it immediately. They lie to you about payments and settlements.
Poor Service
When I went to cash out my CD, before maturation date it has taken me almost 2 hours in phone calls and over 2 weeks in trying to get my money from them. If you decide to put your money with them don't expect to get it back anytime soon.
Poor Customer Service
I have a loan under Bread Financial through Sezzle. My partner and I agreed that well take turn paying each month for our good but it'll be under me, so I'll have to manage the payments and due dates. We decided not to do auto payments since we can be paying each month differently considering how he wants to pay over the minimum too. This month, I accidently paid the loan 3 times because the homepage keep saying my due date is still due on February, and there was no mini pop up notification said I've made a payment after finishing. I've made too many transactions at this point and didn't want to risk making more, so I decided to double check and see if they have a transaction history, which there was 3 pending payments.
I called customer service within—10 minutes. The lady said she can only cancel 1 transaction then continue that she can transfer one of the transaction to—next month. I double check with her multiple times by what she was trying to say since her accent is thick, and I wasn't sure if she was talking about moving my third transaction to next month, canceling my third transaction, or if she can cancel one transaction and move the second transaction to next month. I was also confuse that if they could cancel one transaction and move the other then why can't they cancel both transaction. At the end, I specifically asked if I will be paying $80 this month and the 3rd transaction of $40 will be applied to next month, which all 3 transactions was paid in $40. She said yes, and I agreed. By the time Monday arrived, all 3 transactions was paid for—this month. I called them again and was told that it's been more than 48 hrs and I should've called them within 24 hrs, and now that it's been paid, there's nothing that they can do in their end. She did mention I can tell my bank to cancel the transaction since everything went through their end. My bank said I'll have to wait until the transaction is posted to have a dispute but they declined it today. I called a third time asking why the third transaction wasn't move to next move to next month, and was only was given there's nothing they could do about it since it's been paid.
At this point, I don't care that they'll have my money because I'll have to finish paying my loan. What I'm unsatisfied about is how I did call them within 24 hrs of making my mistake, my needs aren't met with what I've agreed upon, and how I'll have to pay extra for next month even though they said I'll be done paying quicker because people choose a payment plan for a reason—to make sure they can pay for their goods within different months and have money for other things.
Horrible bank, don't waste your time
I have two credit cards with Comenity Bank (now known as Bread Financial), and on more than one occasion, they have returned my credit card payments and tacked on return fees, even after sending them bank statements and a letter from my bank itself stating that I did in fact pay, and that the money successfully left my account. This happened on both of my credit cards at the same time.
Comenity had claimed that the proof was invalid, and that they payment was returned due to no bank account, which makes absolutely no sense. I would not have been able to submit a payment, nor could they have returned a payment if I didn't have a bank account at all. They have still not returned my payment, but it has not been applied to my credit card balance either, so the company does have my money and has kept it with refusal to give it back. They also continue to keep my return fees even after sending substantial proof of payment.
Calling customer service does nothing and they will not work with me or admit fault. I've gone back and forth for months with them, and one agent admitted that they regularly get calls from their customers with similar payment issues.
While my payment amount wasn't very high, I'm feeling uneasy to continue to make payments, worrying this will keep happening. It's also negatively affecting my credit, and no amount of refunds or apologies will fix that.
I believe that they need to be investigated as a company from an external source to see where everyone's money is going, because their avoidance on this issue is shady. If it was a true system mistake, then they aren't showing honesty in their capabilities to run a credit business, and it's costing their customers more than just money to try and handle their mistakes.I have two credit cards with Comenity Bank (now known as Bread Financial), and on more than one occasion, they have returned my credit card payments and tacked on return fees, even after sending them bank statements and a letter from my bank itself stating that I did in fact pay, and that the money successfully left my account. I expect I'll get a generic response from the company on this review that they're looking into it or that it's resolved, but I'll let the average 1 star rating speak for itself on how well they actually fix issues.
Don’t not used this company for anything
Don’t not used this company for financing . They are crooks .. they back date their 0% promo to the original balance on the account not the balance owed .. when the 12 month promo is over they don’t start the interest on your balance owed . They retro it back to the original purchase price .. highway robbery
Caution, hidden fees, basically stealing
The most frustrating company! They send out an interest charge weeks after you pay in full!? If I know I'm not spending money I don't check it every day! So then they slap on a $30 late fee! I didn't check for three months once, because once again I knew I had spent nothing. I had to pay $92 for a $2 interest fee AFTER paying in full. I have 7 credit cards/financial apps this is by far the only one that I feel like steals from me.
