Disgusting service
Disgusting service. Fraudsters. DO NOT USE!
This company claim to generate new business for Estate Agents. Instead, all they do is send emails to your existing database of clients. If the email is opened then they claim to have influenced a client's instructions to market their property.
Unauthorised sharing of data
Unauthorised sharing of data, I don’t recall signing up to their email list but if I did, it was years ago and they should have deleted my data by now as per GDPR but clearly haven’t not as 5+ years later I am suddenly getting emails from agents registered with them. Avoid if you value your data privacy.
A committed team
The team at Brief Your Market have always been responsive and committed, training our team and ensuring that as a business we are well equipped to use the BYM offering. The content team are a talented bunch and keep our socials and emails fresh and relevant for our business needs. A special mention to Chole our account manager who is friendly, approachable and always very quick in getting back to our requests.
Not a great experience
We have just parted company having had a completely frustrating experience. They never produced accurate data for us to use and having told us that it was compatible with our CRM system Reapit, they failed to produce any data that you could believe, let alone use. The quality of the emails that they offer to send to our database was never good enough for us to use. Their communication was appalling and despite wishing to escalate our concerns to someone senior in the company, we only ever heard from our account manager. An expensive mistake on my part.
Avoid this company as much as you can
Avoid this company as much as you can. we signed for a 12 months contract with a 3 months break clause and based on the poor experience during the first 2 months we didn’t like their service nor their valuation tool so we decided to end our contract on month 3 as initially agreed with their salesman while signing the contract, so up to this stage everything was supposed to be very straightforward for us to end the contract by simply serving the notice to end the contract. We would like to say that during the first month we couldn’t even use their useless valuation tool because it didn’t cover central London postcodes.
Well after serving our notice to end the contract we have been contacted by Brief Your Market, they explained that the 3 month break clause was subject to a minimum number of a contacts in our database, minimum number of emails sent each month and based on the fact that we didn’t reach the minimum numbers for both contacts and emails we must use the software for 12 months even if we don’t like it and more importantly pay the 12 months instead of 3 months. Well in our humble opinion, the situation should have been very straightforward, their salesman didn't explain their ridiculous special condition about the 3 months break clause because if he did explain it before joining them, we would never consider signing a contract with such an absurd close.
The salesman/sales team must be very transparent when explaining the T&C’s of business/contacts to new clients to avoid misleading them! In addition, they were aware we went for the consent route regarding the GDPR regulation as they had access to our database in order to upload the contacts to their software. Therefore, they were in a great position to see that we didn’t even had the minimum number of contacts in order to send the expected number of emails per months. Well, why would a Company have this kind of requirement in first place if your honest intention is to let the client decide to choose to keep or to end the contract on month 3 or not. All this sounds quite crazy for us because what they described is like a 12 months contract with 11 month break clause with a 30 days’ notice if you don’t reach the minimum number of a contacts in the database, minimum number of emails sent each month.
The problem was escalated and a responsible from the account team who called us offering to help us using the software when we were asking to end the contract. We were expecting someone to call us to apologies because their salesman was not transparent/honest and did mislead us but the responsible from the account team instead was just focusing on helping us to master their software while we were asking to end the contract. We did ask them including the responsible from the account team to go back to the telephone conversation to see how the salesman did explain the break clause part of the contract but they didn’t even consider this option, they kept explaining that we signed the contract so we have to pay them in full for 12 months and not 3 months, in another words they almost told us that we were kind of naïve because we sign their contract so it was game over for us and we should just pay them 12 months contact.
It is a shame to experience the same issue with your company again, because based on your previous reviews this is not the first time for you to deal with this kind of issues, in fact there is a review that explains almost the same matter and it has been there for around 3 years.
Be very careful. Don't let them take your money, and please read their contracts more than once to avoid wasting your time and money with this company as they seem to have so much time to spend on this kind of issues.
Massively disappointing
We signed up for BriefYourMarket having been sold it as a slick, easy-to-use service that was integrated with our database.
The reality has been that we have barely been able to use it, it has not done the things it is meant to do, we have hit barrier after barrier and we have given it up as a time-consuming and inflexible distraction.
Having conveyed this in August to our account manager I was promised a call back from her supervisor. A week or so later I got a call asking if I could speak the next day. I was travelling on business so asked for an alternative date.
That was the last I have heard of them - apart from persistent demands for payment for their 'services'.
This has been a costly and frustrating waste of time.
Shocking - don't use them!
They don't do what they say they will do
