I created an account and used it for a few months. However, for some reason the app needed to reload on my phone and when reloaded my details were missing. I added these but could not remember my password. Such a difficult process to gain entry with a forgotten password that I still have no access and have no intention of reusing.

It is impossible to delete the account. An error message appears every time despite the correct procedure being followed. Therefore, Bsky retain all your personal data as the only option is to (partially) deactivate your account. Tricksters

I was a member for several months. I didn't log in for several weeks, and then when I did I found I was banned. No notification, no explanation, no warning. The site is coded so poorly that the box that pops up with the option to click it to appeal appears and vanishes within a second so that it can't be accessed. I was told to send an email to moderation. The email was ignored.

So I have no clue what I did, if anything, to earn the ban and they deliberately set up their site to make finding out or appealing impossible(both the website on a desktop AND the app do this so I must assume it's by design).

Considering all I did on there is mock right wingers, bsky probably has such types running the place now. I can't imagine why else making fun of right wing politicians and various fascists would earn a ban. The fact that they hide the cause of the ban proves they're hiding something.

I’ve never encountered such poor customer service. My account (@ronokst.bsky.social) was taken down for allegedly being spammy or fake, yet I’ve done absolutely nothing that even remotely violates their community guidelines. I’ve only been using the platform for a month, mostly browsing and interacting with messages. No spamming, no harmful activity, just casual use.

Bluesky claims to have reviewed my account, but they offer no proof or explanation as to why they made this decision. It’s frustrating to deal with a company that takes down accounts based on what seems like a flawed audit with no transparency.

I reached out to their moderation team and still haven’t received any clear answers. It’s unacceptable that they can make such a major decision without providing any real evidence. If they can’t prove that I did something wrong, they should reinstate my account immediately.

I will never trust this platform again, and I strongly advise anyone thinking about joining to be cautious. Avoid Bluesky if you don’t want to deal with a company that lacks accountability and proper customer support.

Sign up process was irritating, took far too long no options to create account with Google or Apple. The whole thing just slow and time consuming, having to restart the whole process multiple times, having to keep doing the same catchpa again and again, verification taking ages to arrive etc..

We made an account for our gym, followed some of the top fitness channels like a handful and then set about building our page.

We set up the art and bio and then moved to our first post. Our first post was some encouraging words and a link to a series we had just commissioned and released on YouTube.

Informed today our account has been deleted for suspicious/spam behaviour.

This platform is a disgrace! This platform attacks legitimate business for no reason. I hope this company will be taken down and replaced with something more suitable.

The website itself has greatly stabilized since its infancy, browsing is smooth and bugs are quickly fixed.
I've seen people complain about the content, but all that tells me is that they're not using the provided tools correctly. Bluesky has AMAZING self-moderation tools that help people curate their experience down to the smallest detail (lists, feed, etc) so that they only see what (and who) they want to see. That's extremely important in any large-scale social media, where many conflicting personalities will share one space.
Plus, they are very welcoming of new apps and devs who want to use their network, and make it easier for them to do so (a rarity, in open source spaces).
All in all, great website, excited to see it grow!

Fantastic social network if you want an easy-to-use network that you can trust. No ads, good options to take control over your privacy, and no annoying spammy bots. It is a network that is easy to use and has high security standards at the same time.

It is everything that the left rails against, but that's ok because it's them doing it. Hypocrisy and censorship is the name of the game on Bluesky.

If you voice an opinion that diverges even a fraction of an iota from the groupthink that's rife on this website, you will be called every name in the book or banned from the site.

Well contructed, simple to negotiate and full of great people

Terrible website. You simply can't work with it. I spent an hour creating an account and then the system dropped. When I tried to go back on, with the password I had created, the system kept saying it did not recognize my password. I was able to post four times, my published books, and include a link, so I guess it's good promotion for me and my writing but it's such an inferior form of social media. With other websites, there is a way to identify yourself, and then change the password but not with Blue Sky. They basically suck. Total waste of time. LOL...

Guy that ran the liberal twitter created bsky. where liberals get to talk about anything but account with opposing views are quickly suspended permanently. forget open discussion here. it doesn't exist. bsky demands accounts others be tolerant while being intolerant. hopefully this review stays up.

I really want to give more stars, but I can't. I'm unable to see other people's comments on posts, which defeates the object somewhat. Reached out about it, but heard nothing back. Disapointing

Just look at the positive comments here; they can't praise bluesky without resorting to their George Orwellian ways of silencing or attacking any opinion that differs from their own. They have to villainize someone to legitimize themselves. Have a slightly different perspective on something? You must be a Nazi. That's leftist logic in communities like bsky. If you believe in censorship and close-minded echo chambers, bsky will be perfect for you.

My experience with Bluesky Social has been disappointing in several aspects. Despite its intention to replicate the success of platforms like Twitter (X), Tumblr and Instagram, it faces multiple issues that affect usability and user experience.

Firstly, the lack of options to send files such as PDF, JPG, JFIF, BMP, WEBP, or GIF in direct messages is a significant inconvenience. This functionality is basic in other social media like instagram, and its absence limits user interaction. Additionally, I have experienced constant connection problems, including NGINX 404 errors, which make the platform unreliable.

When trying to upload a profile picture, I often encounter a strange glitching visual style, with bars or a green color that does not look professional. I have also had difficulties accessing the platform on several occasions, which is frustrating.

The registration process is another weak point. When trying to register with a Gmail/AOL/Proton account, I encountered a captcha that sometimes displayed the error "Handle too long," which is annoying and confusing. Furthermore, the inability to create conversation threads, a feature that has already been implemented in other platforms like Threads, limits users' ability to interact effectively.

Another concerning aspect is the presence of inappropriate content, such as lolicon and shotacon, which is illegal in many countries. This raises serious doubts about content moderation on the platform. There is also a lack of an account verification system to help eliminate fake profiles and bots, contributing to an unsafe user experience. I have found fake accounts of public figures, such as Maria Corina Machado (mariacorinaya.bsky.social; unofficial/fake), that lack verification and profile pictures, which can lead to confusion. Additionally, there is a noticeable problem with spam, scammers, and fake accounts created by individuals posing as women to steal money from users.

Additionally, I have noticed that the translation into Spanish is often poor. Phrases like "borrar esta post" instead of "borrar esta publicación" are clear examples of bad translation, which seems to have been done using automated tools like Google Translate. It would be advisable to use higher-quality translation services, such as DeepL, or to hire professional translators to ensure more effective communication in other languages.

In summary, Bluesky Social urgently needs to improve in several areas: from basic functionality to content moderation, account verification, and translation quality. Without these improvements, it is difficult for it to compete with platforms like Threads or Mastodon, which are rapidly gaining ground.

I hope the platform takes these constructive criticisms into account to improve the user experience in the future.
