I paid $19 for a birthday card to be delivered NEXT DAY… it did not arrive. I spoke to customer service online and they had the audacity to tell me it’s peak season and so it takes 2 business days… WHY DID THE REPRESENTATIVE NOT TELL ME THAT WHEN I DROPPED OFF THE CARD AT THE POST OFFICE? He just took my money for NEXT DAY delivery. Had I known there was a possibility it wouldn’t make it there on time I wouldn’t have bothered to pay so much to mail a card! Now they’re telling me it may not even get there until after the weekend. I could have sent the card by regular mail! To make matters worse, they don’t automatically refund you when they don’t deliver the service you paid for, they make you wait till the mail arrives at its destination before you can make a claim. The refund isn’t even guaranteed! All I have to say is that I better see those $19 again because I’m not giving money away for free. Absolutely ridiculous.
Smashed to smithereens
Generally, I have no problems with Canada Post. They are more cost effective than other big shipping companies and pretty reliable. But this last experience was devastating! I had sold a snowglobe to someone across the country. They paid for the item plus shipping. I double boxed the globe, which was nestled in styrofoam and several layers of paper. When the person received the globe, it was smashed! Not cracked or slightly damaged but totally cracked to smithereens! What did they do? - Chuck it into the back of their truck?!
The lost mail forwarding service.
The mail forwarding service... total shit show. As their system is automated, any spelling or extra space on my recipient names get automatically rejected. For over a year (from 2023 to 2024), I had added a bunch of spelling options, added a manual scanning option to my service, still got half of my mail delivered. Confusing information from customer representatives. I had to explain to one of them, how "Succession Name of my Deceased Mom" is not a company name, and therefore I should not pay extra for a business account in order to have bank statements forwarded.
Instead, they had delivered my mail to my previous address (where the tenant had not informed me nor did he mark "wrong address" on the envelope for the mail service to return the correspondence as it is custom) ; including cheques, financial and other sensitive information. Which I subscribed to their service to avoid exactly that.
I have had enough so I lodged a complaint with the ombudsman (you know that obscure entity they have as an extension of HR with the sole purpose of defending the interests of those who pay their salaries), for having delivered my mail to complete strangers, and they concluded that Canada Post is at no fault, that supposedly they went as far as investigating at my previous address where the tenant had denied having received any of my mail. As if the later will admit in committing a federal offence by disposing of my mail.
As a final joke, their recommendation and fruit of hard labour was to change the status of the mail forwarding service from "temporary" to "permanent".
So take the advice of one of their customer service agents, "avoid this at all costs".

I had a piece of jewelry posted to me after purchasing in on Facebook Marketplace. The seller is a trustworthy, highly rated seller and I have purchased from them in the past.
Canada post has delivered the envelop ripped and opened, placed in a plastic bag with general note saying they are sorry to have found the mail in this state in mailstream!
The Canadian government's postal service funded by our taxes employ crooks, thieves and criminals to steal from the very people that pay theor salaries!!
Police is dead useless to investigate, as proven tome and again!!
I will try calling the toll free number indicate on the envelop to see what theu will say. Not much hope there either.

As an online retail business, we have been a loyal and regular customer of Canada Post for many years. However, we are very disappointed with the recent level of service.
Over the past two weeks, a few of our parcels have been returned with the status “unclaimed by recipient,” which came as a surprise both to us and to our customers who were expecting their deliveries. We have had to resend these orders — and understandably, we no longer use Canada Post for reshipping.
Additionally, Canada Post has been denying claims for lost packages that were scanned but never delivered, despite those shipments being insured. This is unacceptable and has caused both financial loss and frustration for our customers.
We are extremely disappointed by these recurring issues and, unfortunately, we are considering no longer be using Canada Post services going forward.

Canada Post is a useless service. Every time I order online, they’re on strike or finding some excuse not to deliver. I waited a month and a half for an expensive item that never came—thank god the seller refunded me. Now my order from the Netherlands is missing because, surprise, they’re on strike AGAIN. What’s the point of a postal service that never delivers? Total waste, bunch of people who don’t want to work.

Hi, my package was lost and never arrived to its destination. I have contacted canada post several times. After creating three or four service tickets, they told me that they are not going to refund my item that is lost! first of all they were after the company replying to them and they had this concern, after the company replied, after me calling several times, they told me that they are not going to refund the item. The representative responded so loudly and obviously shouted at me on the phone. Why if you do not want to refund the item, you put me through all this procedure and wasted my time for several weeks! and why your representatives are so rude! you have lost my valuable item and you shout at me on the phone! what a bad customer service you have. I will never ever use your services. First of all you don't have the right to lose someone's parcel. and Secondly, you should have told me from the beginning that you won't refund my item so that I wouldn't waste my time! I will put my review everywhere on social media so everyone would be aware of your behavior.
Overtime ban reason for not delivering parcel during regular hours ??!
So, I have a package that has been sitting at the local post office since last Tuesday. It was processed in Edmonton on Sept. 1st, then came here and was processed on the 2nd. It then went back to Edmonton on the 3rd. Processed there again. Then it came back here on the 4th to be processed once again and has been sitting here ever since. It is now the 8th.
Their reason for the delay:
"Delivery may be delayed due to labour disruption."

Well whooptee doo! There's a ban on overtime. I guess that means they couldn't deliver my package outside of regular hours. What are they doing during the 8 hours of regular time? Didn't they just reach an agreement a couple years ago?
Their reason why I can't just go to the post office and pick up my parcel:
"Parcels can't be picked up once they are in the mail stream."
Wait, what?! If it was in the mail stream, it would have been delivered during regular hours on any one of the days I've been waiting. The mail lady was still here every day delivering mail. What kind of arse backwards logic are they using at Canada Post?
Their real reason for my delayed delivery:
"THEY'RE USELESS!!!"

Post office customer service abysmal
My mailman is wonderful. The mailman who delivers my package is wonderful. We say hello when we pass each other on the street and neither demands ID to deliver my packages.
The passive aggressive guy with the fake smile who works at the post office inside the Rexall at Dovercourt and Queen... awful and power-trippy. Needs to look at every item of ID, even when you have the delivery slip. The service here is abysmal and only getting worse.
I can steal the slip off someone's door and pick up their package with my non-related ID, ie. steal it. But I can't come here with an expired driver's license with my own address on it (matching the package) and retrieve said package. Make it make sense!

I would give a minus 5 🌟 if I could. A letter got missing and said was delivered. A package that took only 4 days from China to arrive in Canada has taking 5 days from just a few kms from home and still not delivered after showing out for delivery and reschedule 2 times for delivery. How can you trust Canada post if can't delivery a single package?. Also contact costumer service and she said can be delivered before 8 pm.Just to get rid of me when CP deliver anything after 2pm .Can not even do it during the day.I honestly don't know how they still on service.Small delivering companies do better than CP.

The most terrible postal service i have ever experienced in my life. Any other postal service like fedex, prime, dragonfly,ups and purilator, all 100% better than canada post. These people are so lazy, they dont even deliver the package to your door. They leave a slip in your mailbox to pick up the package from the nearest shoppers drug mart for a small fee. What clowns we pay with our tax dollars. They should just disappear and not exist anymore. Nobody needs them

Canada Post is just a bunch of thieves, claim me to be employees imagine I shipped my laptop that cost over $2000 all the way from Edmonton to my city and they claim it was lost whereas it was stolen from one of the employee .. and now sending me an email saying that they cannot refund the money for my laptop. Only the money that I used for the shipping is what they can send to me after a whole month of waiting for there response….. I strongly advise. Do not send any of your valuable item with Canada Post. They will definitely steal it and claim it was lost.

30 yrs ago, canada post was a thriving operation.. great employees with awesome work ethics. Skipping ahead to 2025, this dying business is the worst of the worst.. between the constant striking and complaining about wanting more money.. they've proven to be very unreliable. Over the past 5 yrs C/P is either late in their deliveries or they've lost our packages all together, which has cost us thousands in lost inventory. It's just a matter of time till canada post is dismantled from the inside out.. I strongly believe its a generational issue.. millz and x's are always wanting more money for doing less work.. C/P is hemorrhaging money and the workers always want more.. they should've paid closer attention during high-school economics class.. this generation is definitely the weakest link. DO BETTER JIBRONIES.

I will never use Canada Post again. Alberta to New York took a month. OMG. I will never recommend anyone to use Canada Post either. A lot of politics and union issues within.

Wish I could give it a 0!!!! Yet another package lost by Canada Post. I mailed a brand new lululemon jacket to my daughter from Vancouver to Toronto. (The item is now sold out as well). The package never arrived. The delivery driver noted it as delivered to concierge which did not happen. The last time that I mailed an item to my daughter that did not arrive, Canada Post argued that it was delivered to the correct address as per their GPS. Two days later (thanks to the honesty of a person) someone who lives a few buildings down brought the package to my daughter saying it was delivered to them in error. I have had 5 packages go missing recently with Canada Post. I’ve learned my lesson - it’s courier next time.
