Absolutely terrible service. I took several emails for them to work on my claim and then they trabnsfereed only half the claim and it took another 20 emails to get paid. Absolutely awful company.

Although fully insured and paying monthly premiums.

Left me homeless and without accommodation for weekend and without food, clothes due to flat being inaccessible.then said “they would waive £100 excess, give me £100 compansation plus expenses but used confusing maths and didn’t waive excess at all”. Wouldn’t pay me correct amount I was owed. Senior manager was just palming me off and messing me about. I’m a vulnerable and disabled person.

We have a claim to put through but did not receive the full policy details from our home builder. We have the policy number. I have tried calling five times. Have left two voicemails. I have emailed three times and husband has emailed twice. Despite providing our policy number - each email we have received back (three) have been worded exactly the same “please provide your policy documents”. We have explicitly cited that we are requesting the policy documents and have provided our policy number along with the house address and yet they are still avoiding our communication. It is getting very frustrating now. Not a great start and does not fill me with much hope on communicating with a decent human about our claim.

I had to cancel my honeymoon due to a cancer diagnosis. With the exception of the flights which were covered by Canopius, all other parties were very helpful. It is now 8 months later and Canopius are still delaying my claim despite my GP and Consultant supplying all of the information they require. Each contact starts a 5 day response period, whereupon they acknowledge receipt and say they are looking into the claim, which then takes another week to 10 days. They have had all information they require at least twice. Appalling company.

I am currently experiencing all manner of stress and anxiety in dealing with this company following an insurance claim

I have encountered a dreadful experience with them

As a pensioner I made my first claim and have been treated appallingly in every single aspect of their service delivery

I would go as far as to emphasise that this is the worst company and poorest customer service I have ever experienced

Please be extremely careful and circumspect in dealing with them

I could never recommend this firm to anyone

Canopius Managing Agents Limited is in fact the managing agent for Lloyds Syndicate 4444 (2017)

Having made a claim for subsidence in 2018 I have this week been forced to issue proceedings in the High Court.

It appears their modus operandi is to stall and stall by claiming you are underinsured. Thereafter unless you accept a fraction of your claim they do nothing until you give up.

Canopius instructed Davies Group as Loss Adjusters who confirmed the extent of the damage and indeed I was adequately insured.

When they realised the size of claim they carried out a monumental U Turn and instructed a friendly valuation company to state i should have insured for reinstatment purposes my 1.5m home for 2.4m.

Thereafter they said unless i accepted 48% of my claim they would sit on their hands which they have done for 6 years until push turned to shove and a claim for 2.4m was issued in the High Court.

The claim was accepted by underwriters in June 2019 and " liability accepted and no underwriting issues. "

It follows it is very worrying the Directors of Syndicate 4444 have failed to diaclose a contingent liability of 2.4m in their accounts having accepted liability.

Check your insurance policies and see if you havr legal expenses insurance to cover a claim for breaching a duty of care in tort.

Then allow your solicitor to take over.

Canopius Insurance is an underwriter at the Society of Lloyds of London and are responsible for underwriting our New Home Warranty. We moved into a New-Build house 5 years ago, and within the first year it was found that there were significant structural defects, which manifests itself in extensive mould throughout the property. We have claimed under the Warranty, but Canopius has failed to honour their contract with us.
