Creates subtitles well but exports video files terribly. Videos lag, are low quality, and freeze. In the end, the videos are unusable. Subscription cancellation and refunds are not possible. Do not pay for this service.

I’ve been using **Captions.ai**, and honestly, the experience has been frustrating. The app is riddled with issues that significantly slow down my workflow. The latest update removed essential features—like renaming custom templates—and made the editing process unnecessarily complicated. The play button placement is impractical, forcing extra clicks and wasting time.

The biggest problem, though, is the **exported captions glitching**, especially during transitions. They randomly blink, making the final output look unprofessional. After reporting this, I had to go through endless back-and-forth messages with support, repeating basic troubleshooting steps instead of getting a real solution. Even after sharing a **screen recording of the issue**, the only advice was to try a different template or switch to mobile—**which is not a viable option for professional work**.

For an app that’s supposed to streamline content creation, it’s the opposite. **Frequent bugs, slow support, and lack of critical features** make this a deal-breaker. I expected a reliable tool, not constant obstacles. If these issues aren’t fixed soon, I’ll be looking for an alternative.

Absolutely horrific services. Avoid them at all costs. Waste of money.

In theory, this is a great app. I love the avatar production but it has MAJOR issues with the Scottish accent! I’ve been everything from having an Irish twang to full on middle England. It’s mildly amusing but not really fit for my Scottish accent purpose. I’ll use it for direct video recording but I think the virtual me is going to be put on hold until it gets a better grip on my Scottish accent, which I imagine will get better over time. It also automatically default to US currency even when the script has the £ sign.

The app has the base to be great, but it’s made a bad impression first time round. Looking at the reviews on here I guess it will become yet another failure in the AI video app industry

They took my money in a fraction of a second, but I can't even export my 11 seconds video. It says "exporting..." for more than an hour now. No customer support, no help whatsoever. Thieves!!!

I never in my life put a review for a company even when I had bad experiences. But these people, the worst customer service experience I had, so many bugs, deleted my files and the worst people who work there.
All my projects were deleted twice, and their response was "That happens"
Also one of their worker offered me a freelancer job, and I guess he thought I won't ask for payment, When I did inquire about it, he decided to insult me.
Make sure to think hard before using their services.

software worked fine initially then rendered captions but deleted video. Reached out to 'so called' customer service..rep had no idea how to address the issue and said tech support would respond..they didn't. Problems continued...at which point NOBODY responded. Disappointing. I am filing formal complaints with FTC and other regulatory bodies. They bill for a year..but then when problems arise they don't respond. Amounts to fraud.

5 star scam, really well thought out very malicious and very over priced, good job guys you are taking peoples money who are trying to make a good living.

Brilliant. For what I require at the moment, I am finding it an amazing app and far superior to Synthesia, which does not lip sync very well

Non funziona nulla! Appena crei un setting personalizzato (font, colori, ecc.), il sistema se lo dimentica la volta successiva che crei un video e devi investire tempo per crearlo daccapo!

They are scammers with their credit model. I bought the Max plan, and they never mentioned they would change it from unlimited to using credits. Do not buy this app because you will regret it.

You can only use the AI Zoom feature on IOS but I needed it on Mac or Desktop. The pricing page on the DESKTOP showed what was possible on each plan, not the platform you had to edit it on to be able to access the feature.

So basically all the features are not available for full sized YouTube format videos and only on the mobile app but it was purposefully misleading given the plans page on the desktop showed all the various platforms the software is available. It's all hidden in the fine print. DON"T BUY!!

I wish I could give zero stars. They charged me for the Pro version on my desktop, but it still gives me “Inactive Subscription” and no way to export videos without having to pay AGAIN.
Support stopped responding after I sent them screenshots. Feels like a scam.

The app charges customers but it is full of bugs. Desktop app is worst.

I had the displeasure of interacting with the customer service of this company, and the experience was truly frustrating. It is evident that the system is still full of bugs, but this is not the real problem. The real issue lies in the mentality of these new generations, who seem to live life as if it were an algorithm. They are cold, arrogant, and condescending.

The service itself is not bad - it has potential and can certainly be improved. However, the mindset of the people running it needs a drastic change. The problem is not the AI; it is the humans behind it. Until they adopt a more respectful and understanding approach, the service will continue to suffer.

Using the desktop version because I don't know anybody who wants to edit tons of videos on phone instead of big monitors. Anyways, desktop version is apparantly newly released, and it has bugs. Last word in your caption will often remain forever so its stuck on the screen no matter what. Its around 50-50 chance if this happens or not. They are aware but dont know when it will be fixed. If you are looking for a captioning software like this i would not use this right now because the program does not work. Once they fix the bugs and prioritze the desktop version a bit more instead of phone it will be a good software. But right now as of this date i do not recommend as it has bugs.
